사회신경과학에서의 사회적 고통 및 도덕성에 대한 이해와 도덕교육

국문 초록 (Abstract)

근래 뇌 과학 연구들은 인간의 뇌가 사회적 기관이라는 인식으로의 변화를 보이고 있다. 사회신경과학은 뇌신경과학의 시각 안에서 사회적 동물로서의 인간 삶을 규명하고자 하며 사 회적 뇌를 인간발달의 핵심으로 파악한다. 사회적 관계의 결핍 즉 사회적 거부와 사회적 상 실로 인한 사회적 고통은 실제 고통을 느끼게 만든다. 사회적 고통과 관련된 뇌의 영역 즉 전대상피질, 전측 섬엽 등의 영역은 도덕성 및 도덕성 발달과도 밀접하다. 뇌의 상태에서 볼 때 도덕성 발달에 있어 교육환경을 포함한 사회적 환경은 중요하게 작용한다. 뇌신경과학, 신경생물학, 교육학, 철학, 윤리학 등 학문들 간의 상호참조는 도덕교육의 방법 론을 논함에 있어 무엇을 고려해야 할 것인가에 대한 유의미한 가이드라인을 제공한다. 사회 신경과학의 논의에서 다음과 같은 도덕교육적 함의를 도출할 수 있다. 첫째, 환대는 온정적인 대인관계 형성의 시작이 된다. 둘째, 도덕성 발달의 출발은 자기 자신에 대한 관심이다. 이것 이 점차 가족, 친족 그리고 자기 삶의 테두리 밖의 누군가로 도덕 범위의 확대가 일어난다. 셋째, 사회적 외상은 도덕성 발달에 큰 영향을 주기에 이를 이해하고 해결하기 위한 노력이 필요하다. 넷째, 사회적 상실, 사회적 거부 등으로 야기된 사회적 고통은 신체적 고통 이상의 것을 유발하며 도덕성 형성 및 발달에 영향을 준다. 다섯째, 대인관계의 장애는 뇌의 상태와 도 밀접한 관련이 있다. 여섯째, 사회적 자각, 사회적 고통, 타인의 마음 읽기, 감정이입 등과 관련된 뇌 부위는 이성적 추론을 하는 뇌 부위와 다소 다르다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently neuroscience researches are changing to the social neuroscientific perspective, which recognizes a human brain as a social organ. Social Neuroscience is trying to find human lives as social animals in a neuroscientific perspective, and understands that the social brain is a core of human development. Human sociality is due to the social characteristics of the brain which is socially structured. Brain Areas such as Anterior Cingulate Cortex and Anterio Insula which are the part of the brain related to empathy to cause moral behavior are closely connected with morality and moral development. There is our brain in the center of underlying causes of social behaviors such as caring, consideration, empathy, and so on. Social environment plays a leading role in the development of morality from the perspective of brain states. The social neuroscientific perspective suggests the considerations of moral education as follows. First, moral education must consider human beings within the relationship. Second, social rejection, exclusion, and loss cause social pain and physical, mental and moral deficiency. Third, The brain region related to social pain is somewhat different from it of raional reasoning. Fourth, compassionate hospitality and formation of relationships among students can be the start of moral education.
