The Effects of Wellness Improvement Program

(Abstract)
The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of the wellness improvement program for the Korean University Students(WELIP).
The hypothesis in this study was as follows:
First, WELIP will contribute to improving all the areas of wellness of Korean university students.
Second, WELIP will be effective for improving the subordinate areas(sence of creative control, leisure, friendship and love, spirituality, sence of humor, stress management, nutrition) of Korean university students.
In order to verify this hypothesis, twenty-two korean university students were selected out as the subject. They were assigned to the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was consisted of 11 people and the control group was consisted of 11 people. WELIP was carried out on only the experimental group three times a week for 10 sessions and each session required 120 minutes.
The data was collected from the results of pre-test, post-test and further-test . The SPSS for Windows 15.0 was used for the statistical analysis and the statistical significance level for the hypothetical verification was set at .05.
The results were as follows:
First, WELIP served to increase all the areas of the wellness of Korean university students.
Second, WELIP was effective to raise the subordinate areas(leisure, spirituality, sence of humor, stress management, nutrition) of wellness of korean university students.
Considering these results, it can be said that the WELIP has an effect on improving the whole wellness and five subordinate areas of wellness of Korean university students.
