기업가적 역량에 대한 스토아 철학 관점에서의 고찰 = A Stoic Perspective on Entrepreneurial Competency

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기업가적 역량의 실천적 가치를 제시하기 위해 철학적 접근이 필요하다는 인식에서 시작하였다. 기업가적 역량에 대한 주요 연구가 이루어진 대표 학술지에 대한 분석을 통해 선행 연구의 특징을 검토하여 기 업가적 역량에 대한 기존 연구가 경영학의 연장선상에서 다양한 주제와 맥락에 대해 진행되었음을 확인하였다. 동시에 본 연구의 주제가 기존 기업가적 역량에 대한 이해에 학술적으로 기여할 가능성이 있다고 판단하였다. 그래서 고대 그리스 로마 철학의 한 사조인 스토아 철학의 4주덕 (지혜, 정의, 절제, 용기)을 기업가적 역량 모델 과 각각의 역량에 대한 현대 맥락에 적합한 정의를 도출하였다. 아울러 현재의 기업가들이 직면하는 상황에 맞 게 기업가적 역량으로서의 4주덕을 실천하고 개발하는 방법을 제안하였다. 마지막으로 철학적 관점을 경영학에 도입하는 시도가 가지는 연구적 의의, 실무적 시사점, 한계점을 논의하고 향후 진행되기를 희망하는 연구의 방 향성을 제시하였다.

This study began with the recognition that a philosophical approach is needed to present the practical value of entrepreneurial competency. Through an analysis of representative academic journals in which major research on entrepreneurial competency was conducted, the characteristics of prior research were reviewed, confirming that existing research on entrepreneurial competency was conducted on various topics and contexts as an extension of business administration. At the same time, we concluded that the subject of this study has the potential to contribute theoretically to the existing understanding of entrepreneurial competency. Therefore, we derived an entrepreneurial competency model and definitions of each competency suitable for the modern context from the four cardinal virtues (wisdom, justice, moderation, and courage) of Stoicism, a school of ancient Greco-Roman philosophy. In addition, we proposed a method to practice and develop the four virtues as entrepreneurial competency to suit the situations faced by current entrepreneurs. Finally, we presented the theoretical contributions, practical implications of the research, the limitations of attempts to introduce a philosophical perspective into management studies, and the direction of future research that we hope to pursue.
