선교적 새로운 표현들 : 농촌교회 사례 연구중심으로 = The Missional Fresh Expressions - Focusing on the Models of the Korean Rural Area -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to conduct follow-up study about four types of Missional Church(the Missional Village Community Type, The Missional Public Church Type, The Missional Discipleship-Culture Type, and The Missional Alternative Community Type) in South Korea. In my previous research, I found the characteristics of ‘The Missinoal Public Church Type’ by focusing on qualitative case study methodology. While I have studies the missional church movement in South Korea, one question came up in my mind: “Is the missional church model existed only in the urban area?” I found an answer that is ‘Absolutely not’. For this reason, I attempt to study ‘The Missional Village Community Type’ that is located in the rural area and get seven main missiological and theological characteristics through the three models by focusing on qualitative case study methodology(cross-case analysis): 1) Missional Fresh Expressions, 2) Village Ministry, 3) Multi-functional Roles and Multi-functional Spaces, 4) Good Neighbors, 5) Environmental Capital, 6) Missional Community, and 7) Incarnational Mission by Considering the Local Community.
In South Korea, the Christian rural movement is quite similar to the fresh expressions movement, which was started from lay persons in England as the missional grassroots movement. This movement tries to concentrate on the kingdom of God in order to pursue God’s mission(Missio Dei). Although ‘Village Ministry’ that is theological terminology was used from 2015 at the Korean Church, it has closely been connected to the Christian rural movement. This model considers how to revitalize their rural community by focusing on holistic capitals(spiritual, social, economic, and environmental capitals). The models attempt to engage into the community and pastors are serving their neighbors by practicing multi-functional roles and using multi-functional spaces. ‘The Missional Village Community Type’ suggests missional and pastoral alternatives in the rural area.
