폭력극복을 위한 기독교적 평화교육론적 제언 = Non-violence Christian Education for Resist

국문 초록 (Abstract)

평화교육은 세계 모든 곳에서 불의와 불평등과 성차별과 경제적인 불평등을 심화시키는 체제와 제도를 재생산시키는 잘못된 교육을 변혁시키는 교육이다. 많은 분쟁을 안고 있는 한반도의 평화교육은 곧 세계의 평화교육이다. 평화교육은 소위 기독교 문명을 자칭하면서, 대단한 살상전쟁들을 거침없이 수행하면서도 자신이 도덕적으로 옳을 뿐만 아니라, 예수 그리스도의 희생적인 사랑을 실천하고 나가고 있다고 하는 착각을 하는 기독교인들의 인식을 성찰하게 하는 교육을 하여야 한다. 평화교육은 종교를 명분으로 내세운 문명의 충돌이 전쟁으로 발전되고 있는 오늘의 현장을 올바로 분석하고, 문명들의 서로 ‘다름’을 존중하고, 평화를 증진시키는 체제를 창출하도록 문명의 화해를 촉구하는 교육이 되어야 한다. 화해의 핵심은 예수 그리스도이며, 평화교육은 곧 예수 그리스도의 평화를 교육하는 학문이 되어야 하는 동시에, 잘못된 부분의 평화교육의 이념과 전략과 이해관계가 오류들을 바로 성찰케 하는 해석학적인 과제를 안고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Whenever we wake up and turn on the television or the radio every morning, we can almost hear from the news that the accidents have been already happened during the night. We can see that most of the accidents were caused by the violence. Violence in Korea is one the upsurge. Police records report a rise in the incidence of murder, rape, robbery, and assault over recent years. This is not only in the domestic situation, but also in the international. For examples, internationally there happens many kidnaping, bombing terrors, and wars around the world. Then why this trends toward violence? More to the point, how does one begin to fathom the violent mind? In this article, therefore, I explore the link between violence and its causes, especially by asking the dual-edged question “Are people born violent, or is violence learned?” The viewpoints of the instinctivists, environmentalists, behaviorists, and psychologists are explained, but criticized by Erich Fromm? psychoanalytic approaches to ?he varieties of aggression and destructiveness and their respective conditions.?I acknowledge that biological and physiological factors as well as exposure to the environment can influence human behavior. Another discussion also focuses on the relationship between violence and socio-political dimension, between violence and prejudice. Finally, jumping the general understanding of violence into the biblical contexts in the New Testament as well as in the Old Testament, I suggest ways in which violence can be anticipated and controlled if not averted. It is a primary task in this article that the Christian education can be effective to reduce violence by encouraging the power of resistance without violence. Not only are individuals encouraged to battle abuse and prejudice-two conditions that often trigger violence-in their communities, but also alerted to Christion educational programs that teach young people the necessary social skills required to reduce aggressive behavior.
