Purpose The purpose of this study is to compare the recent global regulatory expansion concerning platform companies with the regulatory trends in our government, and to derive response strategies for domestic platform companies by examining the validity of regulations and potential concerns.
Methods The research methodology used in this study involved establishing theories through a review of precedent literature and analyzing domestic and international relevant data and case studies.
Results Firstly, a meticulous analysis of platform monopoly regulation and the enactment status of fair competition legislation is necessary. Secondly, efforts should be made to explore balanced development of the platform ecosystem. Thirdly, sustainable innovation should be pursued by enhancing innovation inducement factors such as flexibility, match-making, procurement scope, transaction management, trust, and encouragement of collectivism. Fourthly, government support policies are needed to foster indigenous platform companies capable of competing in the global market.
Conclusion Regulations need to be drafted through ample social discussion to effectively address the fierce competition with global platforms and the dynamic nature of the platform market and support policies should be devised to secure the global competitiveness of domestic platforms while preserving innovation and consumer well-being.
