부모의 아동기 역경경험이 성인기 아동학대 가해에 미치는 영향: 인과효과 추정을 위한 역확률가중치의 적용 = Associations of parental adverse childhood experiences and perpetrations of child maltreatment: Applications of inverse probability weighting for estimating causal effects

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 부모가 과거 원가족에서 경험한 발달적 위기 맥락으로서의 아동기 역경경험이 혼인가족에서의 아동학대 가해에 미치는 영향력을 검증하여 학대 예방을 위한 구체적인 근거를 마련하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2017년 자녀가 있는 기혼 성인 총 4,008명을 대상으로 실시한 ‘아동가족 생애경험 실태조사’ 자료를 활용하여, 인과효과 추정을 위해 역확률가중치를 적용하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 도출된 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 역확률가중치 적용 전 아동학대 가해군과 일반군의 일반적 특성에 있어 유의미한 차이가 있었으나, 적용 후에는 집단 간 차이가 모두 사라져 동질성이 확보가 되었다. 둘째, 모든 유형의 아동학대 가해에 영향을 미치는 과거의 세부 아동기 역경경험 유형은 가구원 물질남용으로 검증되었다. 셋째, 과거 신체학대가 현재의 신체학대를 예측했고, 과거 방임 피해가 현재의 방임 가해에 영향을 미치는 등 전반적으로 과거에 노출되었던 역경 유형이 성인이 된 이후 학대 가해에 재현되는 양상을 보였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 아동학대 가해 예방을 위한 정책적, 실천적 제언을 실시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) as a context of developmental crisis in the original family and the perpetration of child maltreatment. A national representative sample of 4,007 married individuals, which was conducted by Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) in 2017 was used to analysis. The main results are as follows: First, after inverse probability weighting (IPW), all characteristics were similar between perpetrators of child maltreatment and the control group, which statistically corrects for selection bias. Secondly, parental history of family substance abuse predicted the perpetration of all forms of child maltreatment. Third, the history of physical abuse and neglect in the family predicted current physical abuse and neglect, respectively. Overall, adult maltreatment perpetration mirrored the types of adversity children had experienced in the past. Based on these findings, policy and practice recommendations were suggest for the prevention of child maltreatment.
