기타 초등교육 : 초등학생의 학교축구클럽 참가 경험에 대한 문화기술적 이해 = An Ethnographic Understanding of the Experiences of Elementary School Students Participating in a School Football Club

국문 초록 (Abstract)

‘학교스포츠클럽 참가는 학생들에게 가치 있는 경험이 된다.’라고 주장하는 학자들이 적지 않다. 하지만 그들의 주관적 체험 세계를 심층적으로 규명한 연구는 흔치 않다. 따라서 본 연구는 학교축구클럽에 참가한 초등학생들이 어떤 가치 있는 경험들을 하고 있는지 시간의 흐름을 쫒아 단계적이고 심층적으로 이해하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 과제를 수행하기 위해 K지역 M초등학교 학교축구클럽 회원이며, 특히 주전으로 활동하는 6학년 학생 3명과 5학년 학생 2명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 2012년 5월부터 11월까지 연습하며 K지역대회와 교육청 주관 대회에 출전하는 클럽 학생선수들을 직접 관찰하면서 심층면담을 하고, 기타 관련 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료를 반복해서 읽으면서 연구 참여자에 대한 이해의 지평을 넓힌 다음 연구목적에 관련된 부분을 범주화하여 Spradly(1979)가 제안한 영역분석과 분류분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 학교축구 클럽에 가입한 학생선수들은 ‘축구를 위해서’, ‘축구를 하면서’, 그리고 ‘축구에 의하여’ 학교생활이 더욱 건전해지고, 학업활동에 더욱 적극적이며, 사회적 관계가 더욱 원만해졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to understand the experiences of elementary school students participating in a school football club as members of that club. Five students from a school football club were selected as participants, three from 6th grade and two from 5th grade. Data were collected from May 2012 through November 2012. Three methods of collecting qualitative data were adopted: participant observation, in-depth interview, and research journal. To expand the horizon of understanding, raw data from three data resources were read repeatedly by the researcher. Domain analysis and taxonomic analysis suggested by Spradly``s(1979) have been made after that. The research participants of a school football club have undergone valuable experiences of football as a sport and what it means to them. For school football clubs have been a target of envy to join. The research participants having been accepted as members of the school football club have experienced such values as beautiful competition, togetherness, success and failure. Elementary school students participating in the study have changed to more academic oriented students and more social students.
