플라톤과 부끄러움의 정치 = Plato and the Politics of Shame

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article aims to explore the political meaning of shame in Plato's dialogues. To accomplish this, we will summarize the meaning and content of shame in Plato's philosophy. Then, through the conflict and tension between the shamer (the philosopher) and the shamed (the orator-masses), it is shown that shame provides an opportunity for self-reflection for individuals and collective reflection for civic groups. In this way, I will argue that 'shame' can be important in democracy through Plato's political philosophical project.
