여말선초 사회변동과 밀양 지역사회 -조선전기 밀양지역사회의 재편과 면리제- = Social Change and the Community of Miryang in the Late Goryeo and Early Joseon Dynasty

The community of Miryang conflicted with the central government, having a peasant resistence, Sambyulcho(三別抄) resistence, the economy plundering under the Yuan`s rule in the later Goryeo. And Japanese invaders` pillage brought about the collapse of economy foundation and the unsettledness of the community. According to the improvement of farming productive capacity such as the restoration and the development irrigation facilities, the spread of framing book, the development and the economic power of the community of Miryang expanded and improved. Miryang Dohobu(都護府) didn`t have many subordinate towns (Sokeup 屬邑). But it had Susanhun(守山縣) and Pungkaghun(豊角縣) as subordinate towns(Sokeup 屬邑), a Hyang(鄕) and three Bugoks(部曲). The community of Miryang had the lower administrative structure of five myeons(面) like Bunae(府內), Budong(府東), Buseo(府西), Bunam(府南), Bubuk(府北) which showed the direction. The each Ri(里) which showed the direction was recoded in the middlle Joseon period, but many of 163 Lis of 『MiryangJi』 seem to be written in the former Joseon. There weren`t source materials about the population of the each myeon of the community of Miryang in the former Joseon. But the population of the each myeon of the community of Miryang was checked up by the increase and decrease of the number of houses and families on 『HoguChongsu』(the total number of households) in 1789. We could confirm that the population of the community of Miryang increased much more in the former Joseon than in the later Joseon. The population of BudongMyeon(府東面) was more than any other Myeon in Miryang, but BunaeMyeon(府內面) was the most densely populated. Because BunaeMyeon(府內面) was located in the center of the Eup(邑治), and the local government office and many administrative facilities clustered around it.
