탐구 중심 물 환경교육이 초등학생의 환경소양에 미치는 영향 = Effects of Inquiry Based Water Environmental Education on Elementary Students′ Environmental Literacy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of inquiry- based water environmental education on the environmental literacy of 5th graders in elementary school. Three previous questionnaires(Sung & Park, 2010; Kim, 2012; Park, 2012) were reconstructed into a test tool to survey the effects of an inquiry-based water environmental education program. The i-STATistics program was used to analyze the results.
The findings of this study are as follows. First, the inquiry-based water environmental education program did not show statistically significant differences in terms of knowledge areas. Second, the inquiry-based water environmental education program was effective the development of the emotional domain. Third, the inquiry-based water environmental education program was effective for the development of the behavioral domain. Fourth, the inquiry-based water environmental education program had a positive effect on the development of students' environmental literacy.
In conclusion, the inquiry-based water environmental education program has positive effects on environmental literacy. Therefore, more intensive research should be conducted, linking teaching and learning methods.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 탐구 중심 학습 모형에 기초한 물 환경교육 프로그램을 개발한 후, 이를 적용하였을 때 학생들의 환경소양에 대한 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구와 관련된 선행연구를 고찰하여 물 환경교육 내용을 추출하고, 탐구 중심학습 모형에 기초한 교수․학습 과정안을 구상하고, 수업자료를 개발하였다. 탐구 중심 물 환경교육 프로그램 효과를 검증하기 위하여 사용된 검사지는 선행연구들에서 사용하였던 설문지를 재구성하였으며, 연구과정에서 얻어진 정량적 자료는 I-STATistics 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 정량적 결과를 보완하기 위하여 연구자의 관찰과 포트폴리오 수집을 통해 정성적 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 탐구 중심 물 환경교육은 초등학생의 지식, 정서, 행동 영역의 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과를 얻었다. 이는 탐구 학습에 기반을 둔 물 환경교육 프로그램이 환경 친화적 감성을 기르고, 환경적으로 올바른 행동을 하려하는 실천 의지를 함양하는데 효과적인 교수․학습 방법으로서 그 의미가 있다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 물 환경교육과 관련된 보다 체계적이고 심층적인 교수․학습 활동에 대한 후속 연구가 필요한 것으로 보인다.
