꾸란 주석의 형성과 의미 번역 = Formation of Tafsīr and Translations of the Meaning of Qur’ān

국문 초록 (Abstract)

꾸란의 의미를 찾고 그 의도를 밝히는 것은 tafsīr(타프시르)이다. 꾸란 해석이 이슬람의 종교분야와 관련되어 있어서 무슬림들은 종교적 텍스트를 이해하고자 할 때 이와 관련된 과목들을 연관시켰다. 그런 과목으로는 꾸란 독법, 메카장과 메디나 장, 나스크와 만수크, 수사법, 아랍어 문법과 이으랍, 무흐캄과 무타샤비흐, ‘암쌀’, 아스밥 알누줄, 이슬람 법령 등이 있다. 다시 말해서 한국인이 꾸란을 해석하고자 할 때 이런 과목들을 모두 섭렵해야 한다.
꾸란의 의미번역은 꾸란의 의미와 해석을 외국어로 번역하는 것을 가리킨다. 다시 말하면 어느 특정 이념이나 종파와 법학파에 따라서 다양한 꾸란 주석들이 존재했다. 순니 아쉬아리, 순니 살라피, 이바디, 자이디, 시아, 수피 등의 꾸란 주석서들이 있고 각 주석마다 해석이 다른 부분들이 있다. 따라서 우리가 꾸란의 해석 방식과 주석책의 특징 그리고 한국어 의미 번역의 한계를 분명히 이해할 필요가 있다. 더구나 타프시르는 사고하는 인간의 이성과 이해하고자 하는 텍스트간의 관계에서 비롯되므로 꾸란 해석과정은 성령의 조명과 상관이 없다. 꾸란의 의미와 해석은 무슬림뿐만 아니라 기독교인들에게도 주요 관심사가 되었다. 특히 이슬람 관련 학술 논문을 쓰려는 학자들에게는 꾸란학과 꾸란의 해석 원리는 매우 기초적인 과목인데도 아직까지 국내에 이와 관련된 선행 연구가 없었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The precise meanings of the words used in the Qu’rān are not found in Arabic-English dictionaries. Most of the Arabs had little understanding of the Classical Arabic and did not know the full meaning of the Quranic verses. Eventually, they had to depend on the commentaries of other Muslims and were easily swayed by other Muslim ideologies.
The principles of the interpretation of Qu’rān often correspond to the topics of Quranic Sciences. The traditional interpretation was commonly termed tafsir and more widely known as ‘ulum Al-Qur’ān. In Qur’ānic interpretation, we should not only consider the grammatical, rhetorical and religious meaning of a word, but also other academic subjects that expand the meaning of the word, such as balāghah(Rhetorics), qirā’āt(recitation of the Qur’ān), Asbāb nuzul, al-muhkam wa al-mutashābih(clear and ambiguous verses), Hukm(a rule or injunction that seeks to regulate the conduct of individuals who are capable of bearing legal obligations), Mantuq(what is said; pronounced meaning) wa Mafhum(what is implicated; implied meaning), Nāsikh wa Mansukh (abrogating and abrogated verses) as well as Qur’ānic usage as in the Meccan(Makkī) and Madanian(Madanī) chapters and In other words, we need to revisit the meaning in usage of important Arabic terms and their interpretation in the Qur’ān.
