        The Study on Direction of the Software Education - focused on the freshman students of the College of Social Sciences -

        This paper presents direction for efficient software education. Due to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the whole world is interested in software education. However, simply teaching how to code is not software education. The thinking abilities used in coding for software implementation are even more important. Therefore, computational thinking is getting great attention. Several institutions suggest factors for computational thinking and encourage to teach in a relevant way based on the suggestion. In this study, the verification of the factors they suggested was conducted through a questionnaire. The total of 419 freshman students of the College of Social Sciences who were taking “Computational Thinking and Software Coding” class participated in the survey at the beginning and the end of the semester. We first analyzed Wing's proposal that summarized the concept of computational thinking, and reviewed the proposal of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) for defining computational thinking factors for coding education, also checked on the suggestion of Google for factors necessary for software coding. As a result of research analysis, this paper suggests a direction for efficient software education.

        생성형 AI 기반 학습자 맞춤형 교육 시스템 설계를 위한 구성 요소 탐구

        This paper researched the examination and design of an AI-based personalized education systems using generative artificial intelligence. To gain insight into the necessity and viability of this AI-based personalized education system, a systematic analysis of diverse factors and scenarios in real educational environments was carried out. An initial review was undertaken to confront the limitations faced in the actual educational landscapes, followed by an analysis of current studies implementing generative AI. Analyses of these relevant studies were conducted from the perspectives of the teachers to draw crucial considerations in designing a personalized education system. Additionally, this research proceeded with a detailed examination of key AI technologies required for the implementation of a generative AI system. Comprehensive analyses were performed on methodologies and technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and image processing to understand their functions within the system and the capabilities they can provide. Finally, based on the findings, this paper proposed a personalized education system named GAI-EDU. This system was validated in terms of its capacity to provide personalized educational services based on the learners’ needs. Consequently, this research was able to confirm the feasibility of applying generative AI in the educational sector by presenting an important research direction that explores revolutionary and efficient teaching and learning methods through generative AI.

        Improving the Accuracy of Additive Manufacturing Processes with a Deep Learning Prediction Model

        This paper presents a novel approach to improve the accuracy of additive manufacturing processes using deep learning prediction models. It provides a review of the existing literature on additive manufacturing and deep learning, highlighting the potential of these technologies to enhance the manufacturing process. The proposed method involves collecting log data from the additive manufacturing process, voxelizing the data, and using adaptive histogram equalization to enhance the quality of the data. This data is then used to train a deep learning model to predict the material properties of the printed object. The results of the study demonstrate that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the additive manufacturing process, reducing errors in material property prediction. This paper concludes by discussing the implications of this study for advancing additive manufacturing technology and contributing to the economic and social development of various industries. The results of this study suggest that deep learning prediction models have the potential to significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of additive manufacturing processes, which could lead to cost savings, increased productivity, and improved product quality.

        대학생을 위한 효과적인 튜터링 시스템 설계 - 지능형 튜터링 시스템과 메타버스 기반 학습의 비교 연구 -

        This study aims to design an effective tutoring system for university students by comparing Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) and metaverse-based learning systems. A survey was conducted among second to fourth-year students at a university in Seoul enrolled in "Introduction to Data Analysis" to assess their preferences and satisfaction with both systems. Students favored real-time feedback and personalized learning pathways. ITS was effective in enhancing learning outcomes, while metaverse learning yielded higher satisfaction and motivation. However, metaverse learning required improvements in technical issues and accessibility. Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses, ITS proved beneficial for learning outcomes, while the metaverse was effective in boosting motivation and engagement. Based on these findings, a hybrid tutoring system combining the strengths of both systems is proposed.

        The Study on Correlation of Cognition on Software Education with Improvement of Computational Thinking

        The interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the development of ICT makes the software get the attention of the world. This phenomenon naturally leads to the concern for software education. Learning software coding is not easy for students whose major is in humanities or social sciences. This paper is a study of how cognition on software education affects to education of computational thinking. For research method, moderator variables were adopted on the proposed research model to prove that positive cognition can derive good influence on improvement of computational thinking. To find out moderator variables of the research model, we have conducted the questionnaire over three years for total of 928 students who took the software coding courses. As the result of the study, we proved that the positive cognition on software education can make the better improvement of computational thinking within proper moderator variables.

        Examining the relationship between educational effectiveness and computational thinking in smart learning environment

        The 4th industrial revolution has brought innovation in the educational environment. The purpose of this study is to verify the educational effectiveness of smart learning environment especially with the computational thinking. A big data analysis was performed to confirm that computational thinking is the one to prepare the 4th industrial revolution. To teach computational thinking at university, educational design should be careful. This study verified the relationship between improvement of computational thinking ability and major of students with coding education. There was difference in effectiveness of the coding education depending on the major of students, it means students must be guaranteed to be educated by the differentiated coding education for different major. This study extracted factors of computational thinking through literature review. Thirteen research hypotheses were applied for the statistical analysis in R language. It was proved that expectation of class and improvement of abstraction ability and algorithmic thinking ability had mediation effect to the relationship between knowledge acquisition and problem-solving abilities. Based on this study, effectiveness of education can be improved, and it will lead to produce a lot of distinguished students who are ready for the 4th industrial revolution.

        공학교육에서의 생성형 AI와 비판적 사고: 프롬프트 엔지니어링 활용에 관한 연구

        This study explores the integration of prompt engineering and critical thinking within generative AI applications for engineering education. As generative AI models become increasingly prevalent, prompt engineering emerges as a critical skill for optimizing AI outputs, while critical thinking ensures the validation and refinement of AI-generated responses. This research introduces innovative prompt engineering techniques and demonstrates their application through practical case studies in engineering classrooms. By analyzing student interactions with AI, we identify how critical thinking frameworks enhance output quality and foster deeper engagement. Our findings reveal that combining prompt engineering with critical thinking significantly improves students’ creative problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. Furthermore, this study provides a novel approach for educators to design more interactive and adaptive curricula, effectively incorporating generative AI to enrich the learning experience. The results underscore the transformative potential of prompt engineering as a pedagogical tool, offering clear guidance on leveraging AI technologies to empower both educators and learners.

        정보화 사회에서 인터넷 사용자가 급격히 증가되어 가고 있으며, 인터넷 사용자들은 네티즌이라는 새로운 용어를 창출하여 그들만의 문화권을 생성하였다. 네티즌의 일원이 되려면 인터넷 문화를 이해하여야 하며, 네티즌간에 서로 지켜야할 예의를 존중하여야 할 것이다. 네티즌들이 지켜야할 예의는 네티켓이라 하며, 네티켓의 내용은 사이버 공간에서 지켜야할 규칙들이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 네티켓의 기본 규칙에 대하여 언급하며, 사이버 공간에서의 대화를 나누는 적절한 예절, 전자 우편 사용 시 지켜야할 사항, 게시판 사용 시 유의하여야 할 사항 호스트 사용 시 지켜야할 예절과 자신의 홈페이지를 운영할 경우 고려해야할 사항등에 대하여 논하며 또한, 인터넷 사용이 지나칠 경우 발생 가능한 인터넷 중독증에 관한 연구와 그에 따른 해결책에 대한 연구를 수행한다. The population of people using the internet has been rapidly grown up. The people using the internet are named as netizen. To become a member of netizen, an internet user must understand the internet culture. In internet culture, netizen expects other netizen to behave properly online since there are network etiquette. Network etiquette is called netiquette, and netiquette is simply a set of rules for behaving properly on cyberspace. This study has been focused to provide the guidelines for netiquette. The first part of the study introduces basic rules of netiquette and proper ways of behaviors in special uses of the computer. This matter an be categorized as man vs. man relationship in the use of computers. Therefore, the guidelines are described to act proper ways to other computer users. The second part of the study is concentrated on webaholism which is a result of improper using of computers. This matter is categorized as man vs. computer relationship because it it led by depending on a computer too much. Hence the method of eliminating webaholism is studied as a peart of netiquette. This study offers only a minimum set of netiquette. However, the proposed guidelines must be reviewed by computer users; therefore, they may not be blamed for improper use of internet.

      • LAN의 이론적 고찰 및 덕성여자대학교 종합 전산망 확장에 관한 연구

        This paper describes an application theory of local area network(LAN) and introduces Internet resources with Internet organization in Korea. For practical evaluation, Duksung Women's University network system is selected. After brief description of the selected network system, some critical features of the current network system are mentioned. To resolve the critical features and generate an efficient network system, four basic methods have been discussed. The discussed methods are 1) server systems must be powerful enough to fulfill network users' needs, 2) a network system should be able to extend; and the extended system must be adoptable by the current trends of network systems, 3) network media must be able to transfer any kinds of data types; such as text data, voice, image, and so on, 4) a network system must have capability of monitoring for network resources. Applying theses four methods to the existing network system will lead to an efficient enhanced network system.
