Database systems have traditionally provided the support for the typical business data processing applications such as inventory control, order entry, and billing. In these applications, the database system has provided a repository for applications data, and in the case of relational databases, a query language that makes it easy to access and manipulate data. New applications such as CAD/CAM, OIS(office information system), statistical databases, expert systems, and text retrieval systems would also benefit from these database management services, but such applications require data models, storage techniques, and access methods that are not normally provided by traditional database management systems. One approach to providing the new data types, operations, access methods, storage techniques, and other features needed for such applications in through developing an extensible database systems. In this paper, we study two extensible database systems; POSTGRES, Starburst.

시성 데이타베이스는 시간 주기에 따라 실세계의 상태에 대한 데이터베이스에 있어서의 자료 변경은 새로운 정보의 추가를 의미하므로 대용량의 기억 장치가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 논리적으로 자료의 양을 줄일 수 있는 방법으로 시간지원 데이타베이스에서 반드시 필요한 시간속성을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 시간속성은 실세계에서 일어나는 사건에 대한 시간이므로 중복이 발생되지 않는 유일한 값을 갖고 있다. 따라서 시간지원 데이터베이스의 접근방법 특징인 최근 버젼부터 과거버젼으로 접근하는 것을 이용하여 이력튜플에는 사건의 시작에 해당되는 하나의 속성으로 줄일 수 있게 한다.

순환 곱 부호를 사용한 파이프라인구조의 복호과정에 관한 연구

In this paper, an efficient decoding technique with a pipeline version of the decoder for the cyclic product codes was studied. This decoding system is similar to a cascade decoder. But this decoding system differs from a cascade decoder because it has dual decoders as its column decoder as well as its row decoder and it has registers of rectangular array in the front and the bear of decoder. The decoding speed of a pipeline decoder was 3.2 times faster than that of a non-pipeline decoder with the same error correcting capability in the cyclic product codes which its row was (15,7) BCH code and its column was (7,4) BCH code. It was expected that the theoretical maximum decoding speedup which a pipeline decoder could provide was four.

불가코프 작품에는 작가, 극작가, 연출가, 배우 등의 다양한 예술가들이 등장하며, 이들은 예술가로서의 여러 가지 형상을 지니고 있다. 첫째, 불가코프 작품에 등장하는 예술가의 형상 속에는 ‘불확실-불일치’의 형상이 존재한다. 급변하는 혁명 시대의 불확실성을 반영하는 주인공-예술가의 내적 심리상태의 불확실성이 강조되고 있으며, 아울러 진정한 예술가가 추구하고자 하는 예술과 현실과의 타협 속에 연출된 예술과의 ‘불일치’가 강조된다. 둘째, 불가코프 작품에 등장하는 예술가의 형상 속에는 ‘경계자-이중성’의 형상이 존재한다. 주인공-예술가는 꿈 속 현실과 같은 이중적 삶을 살아갈 뿐만 아니라, 항상 꿈과 현실의 경계, 건강과 질병 사이의 경계, 사이비 예술과 진정한 예술과의 경계를 넘나드는 ‘경계자’의 형상을 지니며, 아울러 경계 너머에서는 악마를 만남으로써 ‘이중성’을 드러낸다. 셋째, 불가코프 작품에 등장하는 예술가의 형상 속에는 ‘고난자-승리자’의 형상이 존재한다. 예술가는 현실-속세에서 기존의 문학계-극장계 등으로부터 수없이 많은 갈등과 고통을 받는 ‘고난자’의 모습을 지니고 있으며, 마침내 피할 수 없는 운명적 길을 선택함으로써 결국은 파멸과 죽음의 길에 이르지만, 최종적으로 그가 추구하였던 예술의 세계가 진리의 세계였음이 밝혀짐으로써 영원한 ‘승리자’의 형상을 갖게 된다.
