공공디자인에 있어 일러스트레이션의 역할에 관한 연구 - 공사현장 가림막 사례를 중심으로 -

도시환경에 대한 급증하는 관심과 요구에 더불어 공사현장의 가림막은 부정적 이미지의 건설공사의 차폐장치로의 역할에 그치지 않고 도시미관을 개선하고 정보전달과 심미적 감상의 제공을 통해 대중과 커뮤니케이션을 할 수 있는 공사현장 최전방에 위치한 공공디자인 매체로서 발전해가고 있다. 따라서 가림막에 적용되는 이미지의 선택은 대중과의 커뮤니케이션의 성공여부에 중요한 작용을 할 것이다. 일러스트레이션은 현대사회의 시각정보전달을 선두에서 이끌고 있고 실험적이고 실용적인 미술을 포괄하는 시각언어로서 예술과 사회의 문화적 통합을 실천하는 역할을 하고 있다. 일러스트레이션의 시대와 문화를 반영하는 가치는 지역사회와 지역민의 고유한 역사와 문화에서 공감대를 형성하고, 이러한 공감대를 형성시킬 수 있는 컨셉이 적용되어 제작될 때 일러스트레이션은 공공성을 가진다. 지역사회에 기여하는 가치 있는 공공디자인에서 일러스트레이션이 효과적인 역할을 수행하기 위해서는, 가림막의 특성인 차폐성, 한시성, 홍보성, 대상의 다양성을 이해하고 이에 각각 대응하도록 일러스트레이션이 가지고 있는 특성들을 활용해야 한다. 또한 일러스트레이션은 공공성을 지니는 컨셉으로 제작 되어야 한다. Along with the rapidly increasing concern and demand for the urban environment, screen fence of a construction site is being transformed into a visual communication media at a forefront of the construction site that may communicate with the public by improving urban fine view and providing necessary information and an opportunity of an aesthetic appreciation, not merely ending in a role of shielding as a negative image at a construction site. Therefore, selection of image being applied for screen fence will play an important role of determining a success factor in terms of communication with the public. Illustration leads visual information communication at a forefront in the contemporary society and successful image of screen fence may be found in a visual language that is acknowledged as a communication art through playing a role of realizing arts and cultural integration of a society by including experimental and practical arts. The value of Illustration that is reflecting time and culture forms a social consensus in the unique history and culture of the community and local residents. Illustration carries its publicness when it is created with the concept that forms this consensus. To make illustration perform an effective role in the public design contributing to the community, we need to understand the characteristics of screen fence such as shielding, temporariness, public relations, and diversity of target. After then, characteristics of illustration will be applied for each of above. Illustration also has to be made under the concept of the publicness.

대중문화로서 그래피티 작품의 실존적 가치 고찰

현대사회에서 그래피티는 대중의 예술로서 가치를확장하고 있는 반면, 한편으로는 거리의 공해로 간주 되어 배척받는 이중적인 양상을 보이고 있다. 그래피티에 대한 일반적인 인식은 사상이 빈곤한 통속적 인상업 문화나 사회반항적인 불법적 표현으로 간주되어왔다. 본 연구는 상업적 작품들이라도 이를 바라보는 관점을 달리하면, 단지 표현방식의 가벼움이나 치밀한 심미적 구성의 결핍 같은 표층적 문제가 아닌 예술을대하는 인간 본연의 성찰이 작품의 심층에 잠재해 있다는 견해를 바탕으로 한다. 그래피티의 발생배경과표현무대가 되어온 도시와 도시민들과의 관계라 는 작가 외적인 관점으로의 접근을 통해 대중문화로서 그래피티가 지닐 수 있는 철학적 가치인 실존성 에 대해고찰해보고 그 안에 잠재해 있는 예술적 가치를 논한다. 이를 위해 소외와 불안이라는 실존주의의 테마를기반으로 하여 에르곤과 파레르곤, 즉 그림과 액자의 개념을 도입해서 살펴보았다. 실존적 미의 가치는 역량 있는 작가의 고뇌의 산물에서 찾아볼 수도 있지 만,고찰의 결과, 도시가 가진 관념적 실존성은 파레르곤으로 작용하여 그림에 해당되는 그래피티의 의 미를생성하는데 영향을 미친다. 시대와 함께 고민을 공유하며 작품을 세상에 던져 넣게 해줄 수 있는 작 품 외적 배경에 대한 진지한 이해가 더해진다면 유명한 작가의 작품이든 가치 없어 보이는 사소한 작품 이라도그 안에 함의된 예술적 의의를 도출해볼 수 있는 기회가 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. In today’s world, graffiti inspires a dualperception, increasing its value as a pop artwhile being regarded and bashed as anon-street pollutant. Graffiti has been generallyperceived as a vulgar commercial culture thatis destitute of philosophy or as an antisocial,illicit expression. Based on the view that ifviewed from different perspectives, evenworks with a commercial motive haveembedded in their deep structure properhuman reflections on art instead of superficialissues such as lightness of expressiontechniques and lack of a coherent estheticcomposition, this study examines existentiality,a philosophical value that graffiti can have asa pop culture, through an approach that adoptsan extra-authorial perspective on therelationship between urban people and the citywhich has served as the background and stagefor graffiti. For this, I have introduced theconcepts of ergon and parergon, i.e., a pictureand a frame, based on the existentialistthemes of alienation and anxiety. While thevalue of existential beauty may be found inthe product of the agony of an able artist, myexamination suggests that the conceptualexistentiality of a city serves as parergon andthereby exercises influence on the generationof the signification of graffiti. With this, I haveseen that provided a serious understanding isgained of the background aspects which sharesthe agony of an era and can throw a work inthe world, not only a work of a well-knownartist but even a trivial piece that looksvalueless can present an opportunity to extractthe artistic signification implied in it.

스포츠 엠블럼의 상징체계 연구 - 한국 프로축구 구단을 중심으로 -

스포츠 엠블럼은 관중을 강한 유대감으로 결집시키고 참여를 유도하는 상징적 요소이다. 이를 구성하 는시각기호의 의미가 스포츠 구단이 의도한 메시지를왜곡 없이 반영하는지는 연구된 바 없다. 본 연구 는이를 파악하고, 엠블럼의 개별기호들이 어떤 방식으로 지역특성의 의미를 구성하는지를 규명하고자 한다. 이로써 메시지의 송수신자 사이의 커뮤니케이션이 일치하도록 작용하는지의 여부를 진단할 수 있다. 연구방법으로는 퍼스의 기호학을 근거로 기호에서촉발되는 의미효과를 이해하고 조형기호학의 관점에 서 담화를 생성하는 모델의 구축하고 의미를 파악해본다. 한국 12개의 프로축구구단의 엠블럼을 대상 으로 분석해본 결과, 6개의 구단의 엠블럼에서 부분적일치나 일치가 이루어졌고 나머지 절반에서는 의 미작용이 일치하지 않았다. 연고지역의 특성이 시각기호로서 지역성을 지시하는 경우도 분석대상의 절 반에불과했다. 하지만 지역의 특성을 성공적으로 반영하고 있는 경우라도 구단의 메시지가 성공적인 커뮤니케이션을 이루는데 반드시 필수적이지만은 않다는 결과도 알 수 있었다. 또한 커뮤니케이션이 성공적이다판명된 6개의 구단 중, 4개의 구단이 지역의 특성을효과적으로 전달하고 있다는 분석결과를 통해 지역성반영의 중요성을 유추해 볼 수 있었다. Assuming that the emblem of a professionalsports team constitutes a symbolic elementthat musters spectators into a strong sense ofsolidarity and encourages their participation,this study figures out if the significationgenerated by visual signs that make anemblem faithfully reflects the messageintended by the team. Furthermore, byclarifying how those individual signs in anemblem generate the signification that dictatesthe characteristics of the team’s hometown,the study aims to diagnose if there exists anycorrespondence in the communication betweenthe sender and the recipient of a message. For this study, I have used the semiotics byPeirce to understand the effect of thesignification triggered by signs and create amodel for generating a discourse from theperspective of plastic semiotics and therebygrasp its meaning. An analysis of the emblemsof twelve Korean professional soccer teamsshows that the emblems for six teams registerpartial or whole correspondence in theirsignification, whereas the other half of thegroup registers no correspondence in theirsignification. And only half of the researchsubjects have the characteristics of theirhometowns serve as visual signs that indicatespecific localities. From my survey, I havealso seen that even if the characteristics of aregion are successfully reflected, it is notnecessary in making a team’s messagerealize successful communication. Furthermore,I have been able to infer the importance ofreflected local colors from the analysis thatfour out of the six teams which have provento achieve successful communicationeffectively deliver the local colors.

오토 인코더를 이용한 공간 그래프 기반 3차원 나노 구조 분석 프레임웍

Nanoparticle analysis has a crucial role in various industries includingsemiconductor manufacturing process. With the development of semiconductortechnologies, nanoparticle-based semiconductor process must be operated carefullyin order to increase quality and production efficiency. Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) have used for observationand analysis of nanoparticles, which generate two-dimensional images. Manuallyanalyzing nanoparticles with many images generated by an electron microscope arecostly and time consuming. In order to overcome this limitation , various studiesincluding computer vision, machine learning and deep learning have been presented. However, most existing studies have analyzed nanoparticles only considering atwo-dimensional shape, and these failed to analyze their nanostructure clearly. Theproposed framework with the provided image preprocessing derives thethree-dimensional spatial characteristics using a deep learning-based encoder, andthen estimates the three-dimensional nanoparticle structure based on the spatialgraph using the decoder for identifying the clear structure of nanoparticles. Throughdata-based experiments, the proposed framework estimated the nano-structure moreclearly than existing algorithms, and the generated nanostructure graph contributesto the identification of nanocluster structure 나노 구조 분석은 반도체 제조공정을 포함한 여러 산업에서 핵심적인 역할을 수행하고 있다. 반도체 제조 기술의 발전에 따라 제품의 품질과 생산 효율성을 높이기 위해 반도체의 나노공정 분석은 매우 중요하다. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)과 TransmissionElectron Microscopy (TEM)은 나노 입자의 관측과 분석을 위해 사용되며, 2차원의 이미지를 생성한다. 전자현미경을 통해 생성된 많은 이미지 속의 나노 입자들을 수동적으로 분석하는 것은 큰 비용과 시간이 요구된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 기계 학습을 통한 이미지속 나노입자 형태 자동 분류, computer vision techniques와 딥러닝을 이용한 나노 입자 자동 인식과 같은 다양한 연구들이 제시되었다. 하지만 대부분의 연구는 2차원 기반하의 나노입자들을 분석했으며, 이는 명확한 나노 구조 분석의 한계로 여겨져왔다. 본 연구에서는 나노 입자들의 명확한 구조를 파악하기 위해 이미지 전처리를 진행 후 딥러닝 기반의 인코더를 사용해 이미지 속 개별 입자들의 3차원 공간적 특성을 도출하고 디코더를 통해 공간 그래프 기반의 3차원 나노 입자 구조 추정 프레임워크를 제안한다. 실험 데이터를 통하여, 제안된 프레임워크는 기존 알고리즘들보다 명확하게 나노 구조를 추정하며, 생성된 나노 구조그래프는 나노클러스터 구조 파악에 기여한다.

시나리오 가중 방법론과 비선형 다단계Stochastic Programming을 사용한 수소공급망 네트워크 운용 프레임워크

수소는 탄소, 미세먼지 오염 등 환경 문제 뿐만 아니라 화석 연료의 가격 변동 문제를 해결하기 위한 대체 에너지원으로 주목받고 있다. 이에 따라 많은 나라들이 수소의 생산, 저장그리고 운송과 관련된 Hydrogen Supply Chain Network (HSCN)을 생성했다. 생성된HSCN을 통해 각 나라의 지역적인 환경의 제약과 한정된 자원의 문제를 만족하며 비용 감소를 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 다양한 HSCN 모델 설계 연구에도 불구하고 설계된많은 HSCN은 실제 환경에서 발생가능한 불확실성을 간과하고 있다. 특히 HSCN에서 수소의 수요와 운송 capacity는 실제 환경에서 변동성이 큰 요소들이며 이러한 변동성을 무시하고 생성된 전략의 적용은 신뢰성의 문제와 오차로 인한 큰 대처 비용의 위험을 가진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 단계적으로 발생하는 수소 수요와 운송 capacity의 불확실성을 고려한 의사 결정을 위해 multi-stage HSCN Stochastic Programming (SP)이 제시된다. 또한multi-stage SP에서 발생되는 결정 변수들 사이의 연쇄 법칙과 비선형 제약식을 만족하는해를 도출하기 위해 Weighted Scenario Method (WSM)가 제안되고 적용된다. 도출된 해의효과성은 불확실성을 고려하지 않은 결정론적 모델과의 비교 실험을 통해 입증된다. Hydrogen is gaining attention as an alternative energy source not only to addressenvironmental issues such as carbon and particulate pollution but also to tackle theproblem of price fluctuations in fossil fuels. In response to this, many countrieshave established Hydrogen Supply Chain Networks (HSCN) related to theproduction, storage, and transportation of hydrogen. Through the generated HSCNs,various studies have been conducted to satisfy regional environmental constraintsand limited resources, aiming at cost reduction. Despite numerous design studies onvarious HSCN models, many designed HSCNs overlook the uncertainties that canoccur in real-world environments. Particularly, hydrogen demand and transportationcapacity in HSCNs are highly variable factors in actual environments. Neglectingsuch variability and applying generated strategies may pose risks of reliabilityissues and significant coping costs due to errors. Therefore, this study proposes a multi-stage HSCN Stochastic Programming (SP)to consider the uncertainties arising in hydrogen demand and transportationcapacity for decision-making. Additionally, a Weighted Scenario Method (WSM) isintroduced and applied to derive solutions satisfying the chain rule and nonlinearconstraints among decision variables in the multi-stage SP. The effectiveness ofthe derived solutions is demonstrated through comparative experiments withdeterministic models that do not consider uncertainty.

정보보증 기반의 함정 전투체계 사이버 보안 발전방안

The warship's combat system is an automated system that can effectively respond to various threats occurring simultaneously on the battlefield. The warship's combat system can provide commanders with the valuable information for command decisions in a timely manner and ensure victory in battle when it has an advantage in time and space domain. In this paper, we will analyze cyber threats that may arise in the warship's combat system, examine the limitations of cybersecurity currently applied to the its combat system, and present cybersecurity reinforcement plans for the its combat system. Until now, the Republic of Korea Navy has applied cybersecurity measures in a bolt-on manner, which is independent of warship's combat system. In order to apply reinforced cybersecurity measures for the warship's combat system, the Risk Management Framework of Korea must be applied from the stage of initial planning stage. We need to internalize reliable cybersecurity technologies into the warship's combat system through close review, and mitigate the level of cyber risk by managing, evaluating, and authorizing them according to predefined security controls. In addition, cybersecurity that can guarantee cyber resilience based on Information Assurance can respond to cyber attacks effectively.

키스 해링 작품의 실존성 고찰

키스 해링(Keith Haring, 1958~1990)은 1980년대 미국 뉴욕의 그래피티 예술가로 잘 알려진 팝아트 작가이자 사회 운동가였다. 그는 낙서라는 주변문화를 미술의 중심영역으로 끌어들이고, 대중과 미술의 벽을 허무는 역할을 했으며 예술의 상업적 차원에서 기존 예술의 유일성에 도전하였다. 따라서 해링의 작품은 대중성, 상업성, 그리고 사회 참여성의 시각에서 평가되어 왔다. 하지만 동성애자로서 에이즈와 투쟁하며 자신의 삶을 극복하고자 했던 내면에 대한 탐구는 외면되고 규명되지 않은 채로 남아 있다. 이 이면은 실존적 차원의 철학적 접근에 의해서 해결될 수 있을 것으로 가정된다. 그의 작품은 실존의 테마인 불안, 고독, 소외, 그리고 그것을 극복하려는 노력의 결과로 샤르트르의 실존주의와도 맥이 닿아있다. 이에 해링의 작품의 특징을 ‘휘청이는 존재’와 ‘비정상적인 육체’ 그리고 ‘미로로서의 세계’를 실존철학적 관점에서 분석하였다. 이것은 그래픽적 아름다움 또는 유명세에 따른 대중적, 상업적 가치를 배제하고자 하는 의도이자 작가의 삶과 작품을 관계 지어 작품을 읽고자 하는 의미론적 접근이다. Keith Haring[1958~1990]was a pop artist well known as graffiti artist in NY, USA in the 1980s, and also a social activist. He drew the surrounding culture of graffiti into the central realm of art, and played a role in collapsing the barrier between the public and art. Also, he challenged the exclusiveness of the existing art at a commercial level of art. Haring’s works have been evaluated from the view of popularity, commercialism and social partici- pation. However, the works reflecting his authenticity in his life where he had overcome himself while fighting with AIDS, and introspecting himself assume the philosophical meaning and value connoted in the hidden side of lightness exposed on the surface. Looking at his works from the existential viewpoint, the themes of existence-anxiety, loneliness, estrangement and efforts to tide over them, and the concept of solidarity sharing the vein of Chartres’ existentialism are embodied. Thus, it’s possible to analyze the character- istics of his works from the perspective of the existential philosophy of anxiety, co-existence and participation at the three aspects of staggering existence, abnormal body, and a world as a labyrinth. The existential aesthetic value considered in his works can be added by his works’ semantic value when looking at the existentiality of the message connoted in the works, even exclusive of graphic beauty, or popular & commercial value coming from the artist’s price of fame.
