음악극 ‘박태준과 청라언덕’을 통해 본 이철우의 음악세계 -말(가사)과 음악의 연관성을 중심으로-

가사가 있는 음악에서 노랫말이 지닌 음악성은 음악작품과 밀접한 관 계를 지니는 것이 당연하다. 성악곡을 작곡하면서 늘 해오던 ‘말(가사)이 들리는 음악’을 추구해 오던 필자에게는 오페라나 음악극 그리고 칸타타 나 가곡에 이르기까지 모든 성악의 장르에 있어서 가장 중요하게 생각하고 다양하게 시도하여 얻어진 결실이 음악의 현장에서 연주자들과 청 중들 그리고 평론가들을 통해서 “자막을 보지 않고 눈을 감고 있어도 노 랫말이 들린다.”는 반응들이었다. 그래서 이 지면을 통해 그간의 성과를 소개함으로써 우리말의 음악적 적용에 관한 필자의 생각을 나눌 수 있 기를 원하며 이 글을 쓰기로 겸허히 결심하였다. 필자의 음악어법을 소제로 한 연구로서 필자의 노랫말의 음악적 적용 을 잘 분석 정리해 준 윤복남의 2005학년도 대신대학교 석사학위논문 ‘이철우 창작오페라 ?춘향?에 관한 연구’(지도교수 김성빈)가 있으며, 이 논문에는 필자가 제공한 여러 가지 필자의 음악사상과 음악어법에 대한 자료들도 수록되어 있다. 이 글에서 필자는 본인의 음악사상과 작품의도 그리고 작품에 적용된 음악어법의 근간을 말(대본)과 선율 및 화성을 중 심으로 한 분석을 통해 서술함으로써 우리말과 노래의 연관성에 대해 더 깊이 있는 연구와 토론의 동기유발계기가 될 수 있기를 원한다.

A new method for simple and accurate localization of stereotaxic targets around the third ventricle and thalamus was presented. In order to save the time and aim to localize the target even in non-visualized pneumoencephalogram during the stereotaxic procedure, a simple scale-Triangular Measuring plate-has been devised. The plate which is based upon such landmarks as anterior notch of the frontal fossa, internal occipital proturbance and mid seller point shows the localization of Foramen of Monro, Thalamic Ventrolateral Nucleus and Ventralis Intermedius Nucleus etc. The triangular plate can easily be superimposed on routine skull X-ray film or pneumoencephalogram taken before and during the stereotaxic surgery so that the target can at once be visualized or confirmable on the films. Pneumoecephalography is usally carried out three to five days before the surgery scheduled to exclude an unwilling headache by the day of surgry. One may point out the exact target desired on pneumoecephalogram by using the triangular measuring plate and this determined target can accurately be indicated on the films taken during the surgery. Further more experiences and studies with the stereotaxic encephalometry will be expected in the future.

1929年의 元山埠頭勞動 爭議

During the decade between 1920 and 1930, the labour dispute in Korea under the Japanese rule arose, like a trend, sporadically throughout the nation. As the dispute grew hotter and hotter, it was all the more supported by the public because it assumed the offensive attitude toward Japan for political freedom. And the nation’s concern about it was more heightened as the Japanese gave the hersher oppression to it. Many anti­japanese fights in may fields provided with far greater power by the heightened national consciousness tinally led to the March­First Rising. In 1929, eight years after the strike of longshoremen in Pusan in 1921, another lager­scale strike of them arose in Wonsan. This dispute, engendered by the brute oppression, low wages, and racial discrimination from Japan, was organized by the longshoremen of Wonsan. And it lasted about four months. Although is failed by the Japanese brute oppression, it succeeded in demonstrating the strong organic power of the Korean labourers and the possibilities of their peaceful and lawful fight, and in disclosing the Japanese brute manner of ruling to the whole world. This dispute is generally regarded as all the more significant because it was a rare dispute not only in the history of the Korean labour dispute but also in that of world labour dispute.

光武年間의 木浦埠頭勞動運動硏究

The opening of Mokpo port is an epoch-making event in the modern history of Korea in the sense that it accelerated the breaking of the nobility-bureaucracy system and the feudalism system in the Yi Dynasty, and that, as a conse quence of the opening of the port, the great increase in foreign trade and the inflow of foreigners, particularly, Japanese people, caused a drastic change in the economic and social relations in the country. The port of Mokpo was opened in 1897. At the time of the opening, there were approximately 600 stevedores working at the port. Japanese marchants obtained a monopolistic position and power in trade. They dominated the export of the agricultural products, which were produced in the Honam plain, to Japan and the import of textile products from Japan to Korea through the port of Mokpo. Under these circumstances, Korean workers demonstrated solidarity and nationalistic resistance against the Japanese employers. Minor conflicts between Korean workers and Japanese employers could be found over all of the opened ports in Korea. Particularly, the dispute between workers and employers happened at the Mokpo port in 1898 is recorded as the first event in the history of the modern labor movement in Korea. There happened strikes eight times. In the beginning, the strikes were characterized as a labor movement. However, as they repeated, the characteristics of the labor strike changed gradually from simple labor movement to nationalistic resistance movement against the Japanese people. Prior to the annexation of Korea to Japan in 1910, the first labor dispute in the history of the modern labor movement in Korea, which occured at the port of Mokpo, was followed by the large-scale labor disputes in the major ports like Pusan, Wonsan and Cheungjin since the country was annexed to Japan in 1910. The Mokpo labor dispute is an epoch-making event in the history of the labor movement in Korea.

Dominant Cerebral Hemisphere에 대한 Microneurosurgery

With the aid of surgical microscope, operations could successfully be attempted directly to the motor and sensory speech areas of dominant cerebral hemisphere. Case 1 who is a right hander showed to have a small post-traumatic intracerebral hematoma located deeply beneath the Wernicke's area of left temporoparietal region resulted from the stab wound caused by fall on a long nail. After the removal of depressed bone fragments and hematomas from epidural and subdural spaces, no actual evidence of intracerebral hematoma which was hidden deeply into the white matter could be found by simple naked eyes. A minute nail tract could, hewever. easily be detectable by using a magnified surgical microscope under the excellent illumination. A small cortical incision, 1.5 ㎝ in length, was enough to evacuate the blood dot formed hematoma. The surgery was performed under local anesthesia and the patient was recovered ??neventfully from aph??s??a, stopor and hemiparesis post-??peratively. Case 2, who is a right handed man presented with a left frontal lobe tumor, cystic astrocytoma, located adjacent to the Broca's area. Microsurgical technique was introduced during the removal of tumor. A cortical incision, 2.5 ㎝ in length, was made in middle frontal gyrus anterior to the speech area for the preservation of those important neural elements. No blood transfusions were required in both cases and vital signs were kept within normal limits throughout the surgery. Post-operative recuperation revealed to be excellent. To cope with the risk of damage to the speech centers in dominant cerebral hemisphere, microsurgical technique supported by adequate magnification and excellent illumination should preferably be adopted in cases who has been suffering from speech disorders.

사회적 연결망의 연구동향과 공간적 함의

본 연구는 사회적 상호작용의 결과로 형성된 사회적 연결망이 본질적으로 풍부한 공간성(spatialty)을 담지하고 있다는 가정하에서 사회적 연결망의 개념과 분석틀을 개관하고 그 연구동향을 고찰함으로써, 사회적 연결망의 공간적 함의를 도출하는데 그 목적이 있다. 공간연구에 있어서 사회적 연결망 분석이 가지는 함의는 첫째, 사회공간 변증법이라는 맥락과 함께 사회와 공간간의 관계에 관한 연구에서 구체적인 사회적 과정에 대한 이해를 가능케 한다. 둘째, 기존의 사회일반을 대상으로 한 사회적 연결망에 대한 분석은 구체적인 시간과 공간을 대상으로 한 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 사회적 연결망에 대한 연구는 추상적 수준의 분석과 구체적 수준의 분석을 통합시킬 수 있는 방법론 임을 인식하면서 공간연구에 접목되어야 한다. Man cannot be Cartesian's absolute individual, so man is wedded in particular various social networks. Ons's social networks are not only their social capital, but also spatial thing. Different social spaces nurture different social networks. Theoretically, social network perspectives are related to Giddens's structuration theory and Bourdieu's social capital. A social network is one of many possible sets of social relations of a specific content that link actors within a larger social structure(or network of networks). According to Wasserman and Faust(1994), assumptions of social network perspective are followings: 1)Actors and their actions are viewed as interdependent rather than independent, autonomous units. 2)Relational ties between actors are channels for transfer of "flow" of resources. 3)Network models focusing on individuals view the network structural environment as providing opportunities for or constraints on individual action. 4)Network models conceptualize structure as enduring patterns of relations among actors. Spatal implications of social networks are as follows: First, social network perspective let us can understand concrete social process in the research about the relationship between space and society in the context of socio-spatial dialectic. Second, social network analysis focusing on 'General Society' need to focus upon the society situated in concrete time and space. Third, research of social network should applied to geographical research with a recognition of integrating research tool of abstract analysis and concrete analysis.
