Purpose: To study the relationship between the concentration of ascorbic acid in the anterior chamber and the complications of an experimental alkali burn in rabbit corneas. Methods: Standardized corneal alkali wounds were induced in both eyes of 33 albino rabbits by applying a 5.5 mm-sized round filter paper, soaked in 1N NaOH for 20 seconds. Then, the control group (22 eyes) was given Tears Natural IIⓡ (Alcon), treated group A (22 eyes) was given ascorbic acid (10%) for 2 hours, and treated group B (22 eyes) was given ascorbic acid (10%) for 6 hours. The concentrations of ascorbic acid in the anterior chamber were measured using a microplate assay immediately post-injury, and at 5 days, 15 days, and 30 days post-injury. During the experiment, clinical observation was performed to detect complications such as corneal ulcer or perforation. Results: The incidence of ulceration was significantly lower between control group and treated groups A and B (p<0.05). The incidence of perforation was significantly lower in treated group A compared to the control group B (p<0.05). In addition, a higher concentration of ascorbic acid in the anterior chamber and a lower severity of corneal injury was significant (ρ=-0.302, P<0.05). Conclusions: Higher concentrations of ascorbic acid in the anterior chamber were associated with fewer complications in experimental alkali burns in rabbit corneas.

Boron nitride (BN) nanofibers were fabricated using BN nanoparticles (70 nm) by electrospinning. Morphologies such as the diameter and density of the BN nanofibers are strongly influenced by the viscosity and dispersion state of the precursor solution. In this study, the precursor solution was prepared by ball milling BN nanoparticles and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP, Mw~1,300,000) in ethanol, which was electrospun and then calcined to produce BN fibers. High-quality BN nanofibers were well fabricated at a BN concentration of 15 wt% with their diameters in the range of 500 nm to 800 nm; the viscosity of the precursor solution was $400mPa{\cdot}S$. The calcination of the as-electrospun BN fibers seemed to be completed by holding them at $350^{\circ}C$ for 2 h considering the TGA data. The morphologies and phases of the BN fibers were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD), respectively; Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) was also used for structure analysis.
고휘도 LED 조명 기술을 이용한 고속 가시광통신 시스템 기술 개발

In this study, we design and develop a VLC test-bed system which has been recently issued and focused as good convergence technology in the world. We classify the developed system into transmission part including analog LED driver module, digital signal modulation module, and receiver part with light sensing module and signal demodulation module. Then we introduce important characteristics and components. We analyze some factors for each module. To validate the communication of the designed VLC system, we develop a VLC sender-receiver simulator which can control the dimming factor and flicker-free effect. From the developed system, we observed about 12Mbps of data transmission rate with 0.5m~1m of distance, without packet loss. We verified the real-time communication with multimedia streaming which can be considered as very high date rate. The developed system and technology will be useful for some converged data services like indoor positing, home appliances, and indoor parking system.
모바일 증강현실에서 컬러마커를 이용한 콘텐츠시스템 구현

Black marker cause unnatural problems between the existing various contents and marker. To solve this problem, we tested frequency of 3D objects according to the various colors and color placement. Based on this, infant's learning content system based NyARToolkit for the mobile-based augmented reality was implemented. By insert to color marker, We are solved the unnatural problems in the Implemented system. and infant can study seamlessly because concentration increases by the familiar character on the markers.
