Cytotoxicity and In Vivo Biosafety Studies of the Poly(alkylphenol) Derivatives as Vulcanizing Agents

In this research, studies of mechanical properties, in vitro cytotoxicity, and in vivo biological safety of compounded rubber samples that contained various novel vulcanizing agents derived from poly(alkylphenol) disulfide were investigated to evaluate the possibility of clinical application. From tensile test results, every compounded rubber sample showed improved elongation properties compared to the reference. In MTT and ALP assays, every compounded rubber sample showed non-cytotoxic levels compared to the control sample containing inorganic sulfur as the vulcanizing agent. The cell viability and activity were comparable to those of the control sample even at extract concentrations up to 10%. In the animal model test, no compounded rubber sample showed any other biological response during implantation for 4 weeks, and the skin sensitization test results indicated lack of sensitivity response (Grades 0 and I).

마을정원 네트워크를 통한 쇠퇴도시 활성화 계획 - 태백시를 대상으로 -

This basic plan targets Taebaek City, an old industrial city. The planning goal is to restore and revitalize urban spaces using their own natural environment and the assets of the prosperous times. Among Taebaek-si, the solution to the three regional plans of Jangseong, Gumunso, and Cheoram, which have the most severe decline, is networked through the base of the village garden to lay the foundation for the lives of local residents. As a result of the study, Cheoram was connected by strengthening cultural content, research and management of Gumunso and Jangseong as a community space. In addition, phased operation based on gardens and local culture led to the recovery of forests, rivers, and open spaces. This plan will serve as basic data as a network strategy for village gardens with nature and people-centered circulation and regeneration based on regional identity. 본 기본계획은 노후산업도시인 태백시를 대상으로 한다. 계획목표는 고유의 자연환경과 번성했던 시대의 자산을 활용한 도시공간의 회복과 활성화에 있다. 태백시 중 쇠퇴의 정도가 가장 심한 장성, 구문소, 철암 세 지역계획의 해법을 마을 정원이라는 거점을 통한 네트워크화에 두어 지역 주민들의 삶의 기반을 마련코자 한다. 연구 결과로 철암은 문화컨텐츠 강화, 구문소은 연구와 관리, 장성은 커뮤니티공간으로 거점화하여 연결시켰다. 또한, 정원과 지역문화에 기초한 단계적 운영으로 숲과 하천, 오픈스페이스의 회복을 이끌어냈다. 본 계획은 산업도시의 쇠퇴문제를 지역의 정체성을 기반으로 한 자연과 사람 중심의 순환성과 재생성을 가진 마을정원 네트워크 전략으로서 기초자료가 될 것이다.

I급.II급.III급 부정교합환아에서의 설골의 위치

설골은 주위골 조직과는 직접적인 연결이 없이 근육과 인대를 통해 혀, 하악골, 두개골, 쇄골, 견갑골, 갑상연골, 인두 등에 연결된다. 이러한 특이한 해부학적 관계 때문에 설골의 위치는 하악의 위치, 머리의 위치, 기도상태에 따라 변하게 된다. 이에 저자는 설골과 부정교합과의 관계, 기도와의 연관성에 대해 알아보고자 경북대학교 소아치과에 부정교합을 주소로 내원한 환아 64명 (남자 : 39명, 여자 : 25명, I급 부정교합 : 25명, II급 부정교합 : 15명, III급 부정교합 : 24명)의 설골의 위치를 측면 두부방사선 규격사진상에서 계측하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. I, II급 부정교합환아에 비해 III급 부정교합환아에서 설골은 더 전방에 위치하였고, 설골의 경사도도 더 완만하였다. 2. I, II, III급 부정교합환아에서 설골은 하악골과 척추골사이의 전후방적 위치는 일정하였다. 3. 설골은 하부기도의 전방경계를 이루는 골격구조임을 알 수 있었다.

괘상(卦象)을 이용한 추상표현 연구

Image of hexagram is a symbol that sets the underlying and contrasting attributes inherent in the natural phenomena as negative(⚋) and positive(⚊), in which their expressions are abstracted into ‘⚋(yin)’ and ‘⚊(yang)’. 8 kinds of symbols derived when the symbol above is vertically overlapped 3 times are generally referred to as '8 trigrams', and overlapping 6 times results in '64 hexagrams'. Image of hexagram classifies and responds to a wide range of natural objects, describing their characteristics in a condensed manner using the harmony between yin(⚋) and yang(⚊). Therefore, it allows collective understanding to be constructed easily in terms of cognition and is convenient to use due to its simplicity in terms of practice[easy and simple, 易簡]. Its recapitulative representation is close to the modern abstract, adding the imagination about what is beyond the object, and it's realized with reverence and aesthetics. As the aesthetic conception, Image of hexagram is the starting point of Eastern painting, cherishing the keys of oriental philosophy and aesthetics. Paying attention to such characteristics of Image of hexagram, this research focuses on the work to investigate the essence of nature and humanity which is manifest in Image of hexagram. This paper examined the principles under which the yin-yang symbols are harmonized with reason, image and number through 'Hetu・Luoshu(河圖・洛書) and number' and 'Taegeuk and reason.' It also investigated the concept of 'image' which is a symbol of Book of Changes and that of 'idea-image' which is an aesthetic object derived from the relation between 'image' and 'meaning.' Furthermore, the research aims to ponder upon various themes derived from the relation between aesthetic object and subject in painting. The research revealed so far there have been various attempts at abstract expressions and some accomplishments achieved in the Korean art but it remains that there are few studies on the origins of abstraction in our region, spanning prehistoric and historical eras. Hence, the potentials of the modern abstract painting using the elements inherent in Image of hexagram were considered in this study. Based on these above, it intends to explore the possibilities to expand the analytic trend from a philosophical and aesthetical perspective only to an artistic perspective in Image of hexagram research.

A Kinetic Study on Ethylaminolysis of Phenyl Y-Substituted-Phenyl Carbonates: Effect of Leaving-Group Substituents on Reactivity and Reaction Mechanism

A kinetic study on nucleophilic substitution reactions of phenyl Y-substituted-phenyl carbonates (5a-5j) with ethylamine in 80 mol % H2O/20 mol % DMSO at 25.0 ± 0.1 oC is reported. The plots of kobsd vs. [amine] are linear for the reactions of substrates possessing a strong electron-withdrawing group (EWG) but curve upward for those of substrates bearing a weak EWG, indicating that the electronic nature of the substituent Y in the leaving group governs the reaction mechanism. The reactions have been concluded to proceed through a stepwise mechanism with one or two intermediates (a zwitterionic tetrahedral intermediate T± and its deprotonated form T–) depending on the nature of the substituent Y. Analysis of Brønsted-type plots and dissection of kobsd into microscopic rate constants have revealed that the reactions of substrates possessing a strong EWG (e.g., 5a-5f) proceed through T± with its formation being the rate-determining step, while those of substrates bearing a weak EWG (e.g., 5g-5j) proceed through T± and T–.

드랙 퍼포먼스에 의한 젠더 규범 해체 연구 -뮤지컬 <헤드윅>을 중심으로

본고는 뮤지컬 <헤드윅>에 등장하는 드랙 캐릭터들을 중심으로, 드랙 퍼포먼스가 젠더 규범을 어떻게 해체되고 전복하는지를 분석한다. 오늘날 우리는 무대에서 퀴어 정체성에 따라 드랙한 극 중 인물과 크로스 캐스팅에 따른 연출적 캐릭터, 이렇게 두 유형의 드랙 캐릭터를 마주한다. 이러한 드랙 작업은 고대부터 현재까지 서로 다른 배경과 목적에 따라 크게 4가지-고전적 드랙, 퀴어적 드랙, 연극적(오락적) 드랙, 현대적 드랙- 유형으로 나뉘어 수행되어 왔다. 주목할 점은 이들이 각기 다른 의도를 가지고 있음에도 불구하고, 발현 양상이 같다는 점이다. 그런데 사실 이 모든 행위는 젠더 정치적 영향 하에 파생된 것들이다. 그렇기에 기실 드랙은 서로 다른 유형의 드랙들이 같은 발현 양상을 띠는 것이 아니라, 하나의 행위 양상이 각각의 욕구와 목적에 따라 나뉘진 것이라 할 수 있다. 즉, 드랙에 있어 중요한 것은 행위의 목적이 아니라 행위 그 자체이다. 드랙은 복식전환을 통해 한-신체-내에 이중적 젠더 층위를 형성한다. 그리고 한-신체-내의 이중적 젠더 층위는 직관적으로는 시각적 영역에서, 극적 인물에 익숙해질 쯤에는 청각적 영역에서 균열을 일으키고, 극을 이해하는 과정에선 지각적 영역에서 균열을 일으킨다. 결국 드랙이 만들어내는 다양한 젠더 층위와 분열된 이미지는 기존의 젠더 관념을 해체하고 전복한다. This study analyzes how drag performances dismantle and subvert gender norms, focusing on the drag characters that appear in the musical <Hedwig>. Today, we encounter two types of drag characters on stage: a drag character within the play based on queer identity, and a directorial character resulting from cross-casting. From ancient times to the present, this type of drag work has been largely divided into four types - classical drag, queer drag, theatrical (entertainment) drag, and modern drag - according to different backgrounds and purposes. It is noteworthy that although they each have different intentions, their manifestation patterns are the same. But in fact, all of these acts were derived from the influence of political gender effects. Therefore, in fact, we cannot say that different types of drag do not have the same manifestation pattern, but rather that one behavior pattern has been divided according to each desire and purpose. In other words, the essence of drag is not the purpose of the act, but the act itself. Drag creates a double gender layer within one body through clothing conversion. And this layer causes a visual cracks in the intuitional area, auditorial cracks in the comfort area, and perceptual cracks in the understanding area. Finally, the various gender layers and divided images created by drag dismantle and subvert existing gender concepts.

Case Reports of Binge Eating Patterns in the Recovery Phase of Anorexia Nervosa Patients With and Without Food Addiction

Food addiction refers to a condition in which individuals exhibit addictive-like behaviors toward food, like those observed in substance abuse. Although still debated, evidence supporting the validity and usefulness of the concept of food addiction is growing. Food addiction is particularly associated with obesity and eating disorders involving binge eating. This study discusses the cases of two adolescent patients who presented with anorexia nervosa. During the recovery phase of anorexia nervosa, binge eating was observed, and the patterns of binge eating significantly differed between patients, with and without food addiction. Therefore, healthcare professionals treating eating disorders should be aware of food addiction and modify their treatment strategies accordingly.

유명인 자살 보도 전후의 일반인 자살시도 양상의 비교

Objectives : Many studies suggest that media reporting of a celebrity suicide increase suicidal rates, but few studies have assessed the impact of specific media report in Korea. We have examined possible influences of media reporting death of famous Korean actress Ms. Choi, whose death resulted in extensive media coverage. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of the patients who presented with suicide attempts to the Emergency Department of Severance Hospital during 12 month period. We obtained demographic data, any past history of suicide attempt and psychiatric illness, the methods of suicide attempts, lethality, and follow up after discharge. Results : We finally enrolled 162 patients during the study period. The total number of suicide attempts by hanging was 11, and 9 attempts occurred after death of Ms. Choi. The patients who visited emergency department after death of Ms. Choi tend to use more severe methods than before. Most patients discharged against advice and were not followed up after discharge. Conclusion : From the result of this study, it might be possible that Werther effect could have an effect on suicide attempts. This study also suggests need for intense follow up for survivors after suicide attempt. (J of Kor Soc for Dep and Bip Disorders 2011;9:64-69)
