        Core clock gene, Bmal1, is required for optimal second-level interval production

        Perception and production of second-level temporal intervals are critical in several behavioral andcognitive processes, including adaptive anticipation, motor control, and social communication. These processes are impaired in several neurological and psychological disorders, such asParkinson’s disease and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Although evidence indicatesthat second-level interval timing exhibit circadian patterns, it remains unclear whether the coreclock machinery controls the circadian pattern of interval timing. To investigate the role of coreclock molecules in interval timing capacity, we devised a behavioral assay called the intervaltiming task to examine prospective motor interval timing ability. In this task, the mouseproduces two separate nose pokes in a pretrained second-level interval to obtain a sucrosesolution as a reward. We discovered that interval perception in wild-type mice displayed acircadian pattern, with the best performance observed during the late active phase. Toinvestigate whether the core molecular clock is involved in the circadian control of intervaltiming, we employed Bmal1 knockout mice (BKO) in the interval timing task. The intervalproduction of BKO did not display any difference between early and late active phase, withoutreaching the optimal interval production level observed in wild-type. In summary, we reportthat the core clock gene Bmal1 is required for the optimal performance of prospective motortiming typically observed during the late part of the active period.

        19세기 초 멕시코 자유주의와 원주민: 호세 마리아 루이스 모라(José María Luis Mora)의 사상을 중심으로

        This article tries to analyze Mexican liberalism at the beginning of the 19th century focused on ideas of José María Luis Mora. Mora was a representative liberalist, leading the formation of liberalism at that time. Criollo Mora had been engaged in various activities as a thinker, a politician, an education reformer, and an editor until he left for France. At the beginning, Mora insisted the freedom of citizen, believing in constitutional liberalism. In his thought, citizen meant a man who owned an amount of property. Therefore, the majority of poor indians couldn't be a citizen. After Mora had recognized that the colonial legacy was an obstacle to a realization of constitutional liberalism, he asked the removal of privilege of "espiritu de cuerpo" such as church, army, and indigenous community. Especially the communal land of indigenous community must be distributed privately, because it was a survival of colonial period. This idea was closely related to Mora's negative perception of indigenous people. Mora thought that the indigenous was inferior and had no possibility of improvement, so they must be excluded. He suggested the european colonization as an alternative. In conclusion, Mora tried to realize criollo liberalism. Indigenous people was not considered in Mora's liberalism. 이 논문은 19세기 초 멕시코 자유주의의 성격을 호세 마리아 루이스 모라의 사상을 중심으로 원주민의 관점에서 살펴보고자 한다. 모라는 멕시코 자유주의의 창시자로 멕시코 자유주의의 형성을 주도한 대표적인 인물이다. 크리오요 출신이었던 모라는 1820년부터 1834년 프랑스로 망명할 때까지 사상가, 정치가, 교육개혁가, 편집인으로서 다양한 활동을 펼치며 자유주의 이념을 실현하려고 노력했다. 초기에 입헌적 자유주의를 신봉했던 모라는 개인, 즉 시민의 자유를 강조했다. 그의 사상에서 시민은 일정 정도의 재산을 소유한 사람을 의미했다. 가난한 대다수 원주민은 시민이 될 수 없었다. 식민적 잔재가 여전히 자유주의의 실현에 장애물임을 깨닫게 된 모라는 교회, 군대, 원주민 공동체 등을 특권 집단으로 지목하고 그들의 특권을 제거해야 한다고 주장했다. 그 중에서도 원주민 공동체의 공유지는 구시대적인 유물로 반드시 없애야 하는 것이었다. 모라의 이러한 생각은 원주민에 대한 부정적인 인식과 연관이 있었다. 원주민은 열등하며 개선 가능성이 없기 때문에 배제해야 할 대상이었다. 그래서 모라가 멕시코의 발전을 위해 선택한 방법은 유럽인의 식민화였다. 결국 모라가 실현하고자 했던 자유주의는 크리오요적인 자유주의였다. 19세기 초 자유주의에서 원주민은 설 자리가 없었다.

        ‘펭수 화법’의 특징 및 의의 탐구 : 사회언어학적 담화 분석을 중심으로

        이 논문의 목적은 펭수 영상 및 관련 댓글에 대한 사회언어학적 담화 분석을 통하여 펭수 화법의 특징을 규명하고 그 의의를 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 연구대상은 EBS 캐릭터인 ‘펭수’의 원(原)영상과 편집영상 및 댓글이다. 분석방법은 ‘펭수 화법’과 관련된 편집영상 중 가장 많이 인용된 펭수의 원영상을 CDA와 MMDA로 분석하고, 편집영상의 댓글에 대한 담화 분석 결과를 워드클라우드로 시각화하였다. 펭수의 원영상 분석 결과, 첫째, 펭수 화법은 B급 감성의 개그로 공유적 웃음을 선사한다는 점에서 ‘유희적’이다. 둘째, 펭수 화법은 지위거래 게임을 통해 기존의 갑을 관계를 뒤집는다는 점에서 ‘전복적’이다. 셋째, 펭수 화법은 규범을 깨고 경계를 넘나든다는 점에서 ‘탈경계적’이다. 편집영상의 댓글 분석 결과, 시청자들은 펭수 화법의 ‘재미, 탈권력, 탈경계, 공감, 소통, 진심’ 등에 열광하고 있었다. ‘웃음’의 소통 방식과 ‘수평’의 소통 구조와 ‘잘삶’의 소통 문화를 지향하는 펭수 화법은 미래 사회를 이끌어 갈 MZ세대 소통의 원형(原型)을 제시한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this paper is to identify the characteristics of “Pengsoo speech(PS)” and explore its significance through a sociolinguistic discourse analysis of Pengsoo videos and related comments. The objects of study are original videos, edited videos, and the comments of the EBS character Pengsoo. As for the method, the original Pengsoo video which was the most ed among the edited videos related to PS was analyzed with CDA and MMDA. The results of discourse analysis on the comments left on the edited video were visualized with a word cloud. The results of analyzing Pengsoo's original video are as follows: the first characteristic of PS is “playfulness” in that it provides a shared laugh with a B-grade emotional gag. The second characteristic of PS is “subversiveness” in that it overturns the existing relationship between the first and the second through the game of position trading. The third characteristic of PS is “trans-boundary” in that it breaks the norm and crosses boundaries. As a result of analyzing the comments left on the edited video, it was found that viewers were enthusiastic about Pengsoo's narration, such as “fun”, “disarming power”, “trans-boundaries”, “empathy”, “communication”, and “sincerity”. PS is meaningful in that it presents the archetype of communication for the MZ generation that will lead the future society including the communication method of “laugh”, “horizontal” communication structure, and the communication culture of “well-being”.

        Rubrics and Schoolwide Approach to the Character Education and Some Implications to AI-Based Character Education

        Purpose: The Character Education Promotion Act was introduced in Korea, and after that many kinds of high qualified school character education programs have been made in Korea. Then now, it is time to pay attention to research for effective program implementation. The purpose of this article is reviewing former developed tools for evaluation for character education in wide range, and suggesting some ideas of the rubrics and schoolwide approach to the character education. Method: This article give efforts to develop some suggestions of a rubric for effective character education implementation by analyzing prior researches. To extract the rubric, this article reviewed CASEL’s Implementing Rubrics, GTO Accountability Questions, and Character Education Framework Guidance in UK. In using this comparative research method, this article extracts the core ideas of each rubrics and synthesizes the main frame of the rubrics to develop rubrics model. Results: The three former developed rubrics has each steps of questions. And they are composed on the basis of schoolwide approach and help teacher or practitioner check what he/she to do and concern easily. In order for a program to be effective, schools should take all stakeholders in school into account, make a democratic atmosphere, and divide roles appropriately. The extracted rubric can guide the implementation process will not only reduce teachers' burn-outs but also enhance the effectiveness of the program, by making it easier to implement. Conclusion: If the implementation of an effective program performed in a low quality way, it rather cause negative impact on program effects. In the same context, It is important to take into account how reduce teacher’s burden. And it need also provide effective character education program cases and information on supporting organization. As Korean society gradually shifts to the AI-based society, decisions on school policy will also be made based on data. For this, it is essential to establish procedures for how data is used.

        해외 인성교육 정책 및 실천의 변화 동향과 시사점 -미국, 영국, 싱가포르 사례를 중심으로-

        This study draws implications for the future direction of character education in Korea by examining the changes in character education policies and studies in the US, UK, and Singapore, which have been frequently reviewed in preceding studies on character education abroad. In the US, the Character and Social Emotional Development (CSED) guidelines have been established, which include achievement standards aimed at integrating character education with social emotional learning. Furthermore, social emotional learning has evolved by incorporating contents such as ethical competency and adopting a more robust evidence-based approach. The UK's Jubilee Center has expanded the influence of character education in public education through efforts such as providing a character education strategy inventory. Singapore has revised its Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) program to expand the concept of character education in a more comprehensive direction and to promote the systematization of practice. Therefore, this study suggests that it is necessary to redefine the framework of character education in Korea by formulating specific guidelines for it, including the development of achievement standards.

        시각탐색에서 시간적 맥락에 따른 위치 확률 학습

        위치 확률 학습(Location probability learning) 효과란 시각탐색 시 표적이 특정 위치에 빈번하게 출현할 때 해당 위치로의 공간 주의가 편향됨으로써 탐색이 빨라지는 현상을 일컫는다(Jiang et al., 2013). 본 연구는 결합(conjunction) 탐색에서 시간적 맥락에 따라 공간 주의가 유연하게 편향되는지 알아보고자 수행되었다. 실험 1에서 표적은 응시점 이후 시간적 맥락(300 ms / 1300 ms)에 따라 두 개의 특정 사분면에서 높은 빈도로 출현하였다. 실험 1의 결과, 맥락과 상관없이 공간 주의가 두 개의 고빈도 사분면으로 편향되었다. 실험 2에서는 시간적 맥락을 강화하여 표적이 첫 번째 또는 두 번째 탐색 화면부터 제시되었으며 그 결과, 맥락 특정적인 공간 주의 편향이 관찰되었다. 실험 3은 실험 2에 혼입되어있는 순서와 길이의 효과 크기 비교를 통해 순서의 영향력을 재확인하였다. 본 결과는 위치 확률 학습에서 탐색 화면이 시간적 순서(temporal order) 정보를 지닐 때 강력한 시간적 맥락으로 사용되며, 시공간이 존재하는 역동적 환경에서 인간의 학습 기전에 시간적 맥락이 작동하는 방식에 대한 새로운 통찰을 제공하고 있다. The location probability learning effect refers to the phenomenon where spatial attention is biased towards a specific location, resulting in faster visual search, when a target appears frequently at that location (Jiang et al., 2013). This study aimed to investigate whether spatial attention is flexibly biased by temporal context in conjunction search. In Experiment 1, the target appeared with high frequency in two specific quadrants depending on the temporal context (300 ms / 1300 ms) after fixation. The results of Experiment 1 showed that spatial attention was biased towards the two high-frequency quadrants regardless of the temporal context. In Experiment 2, by reinforcing the temporal context, the target was presented from either the first or second search display depending on the context, and the results showed that context-specific spatial attention bias occurred. Experiment 3 reaffirmed the influence of the order to investigate specifically the effect sizes of the temporal order and duration confounded in Experiment 2. These results imply that the search display with temporal order information is used as a powerful temporal context in location probability learning, and provide new insights into the way temporal context operates in the human learning mechanism in dynamic environments where space and time coexist.
