Serum samples of 30 chickens per flock from 6 grand parent stock (GPS) farms and 70 parent stock (PS) farms were collected for seroprevalent study of pullorum disease-fowl typhoid (PD-FT) infection by serum plate agglutination test (SPA). The incidence of PD-FT infection in GPS flocks and PS flocks were 0% and 15.7%, respectively. Especially PS flocks infected with PD-FT showed age dependent patterns that 22.2% of flocks between 20 to 30 weeks of age and 38.9% of flocks between 30 to 40 weeks of age were positive. The incidence of GPS flocks and PS flocks using Salmonella (S.) gallinarum 9R (SG9R) live vaccine were 33.3% and 58.6%, respectively. The sero-positive rate of 11 flocks were 6.7-83.3% by SPA and 2.9-55.6% by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and ELISA showed more lower antibody levels than SPA. Furthermore, specific antibodies produced by SG9R vaccination were detectable by SPA using SG9R antigen without cross-reaction with the PD-FT infection.

Double-focused micro-Multileaf Collimator (${\mu}MLC$) is able to create radiation fields having sharper dose gradients at the field edges than common MLC. Therefore, ${\mu}MLC$ has been used for the stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRT). We evaluated the dosimetric characteristics of a doublefocused Dynamic-${\mu}MLC$ (DMLC) attached to the Elekta Synergy linear accelerator. For this study, the dosimetric parameters including, Percent Depth Dose (PDD), Leaf leakage and penumbra, have been measured by using of the radiochromic films (GafChromic EBT2), EDGE diode detector and three-dimensional water phantom. All datas were measured on 6 MV x-ray. As a result, The DMLC shows transmission below to 1% and because of double-focused construction of the DMLC, the penumbras of fields with DMLC are independent from the field sizes. In this paper, the resulting dosimetric evaluations proved the applicability of the DMLC attached to the Elekta Synergy linear accelerator.

Purpose: Adequate health-related information provided by health professionals may help cancer patients overcome their uncertain situation and manage their healthcare. To provide information effectively, there is a need to understand the content of the patients' essential information. The purpose of this study was to identify recent informational needs of postoperative gastric cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Data were collected from 190 postoperative gastric cancer patients who attended the Stomach Cancer Patients' Day ceremony (18 November 2008) held by the Stomach Cancer Center of Samsung Medical Center with the use of a questionnaire which measured informational needs. A questionnaire with 37 items was comprised of domains of diagnostic tests, cancer therapy, prognosis, follow-up, sexual activity, stomach cancer-related information, and 7 single items. Results: The priorities of informational needs were the domains of prognosis, ways of healthcare during treatment (a single item), follow-up, stomach cancer-related information, cancer therapy, and diagnostic tests (in descending order). Items related to prognosis, diet, and management of their healthcare ranked in the top 10 informational need scores. As age decreased, the degree of informational needs about diagnostic tests, cancer therapy, sexual activity, and stomach cancer-related information increased. Conclusion: We suggest that prognosis-related information based on the accumulated institutional therapeutic outcomes and objective prognosis data should be incorporated in the current education program. Health professionals should provide comprehensible information content to cancer patients and caregivers and encourage patients to participate in their therapy with a more positive attitude.

Objectives: The survey was conducted to find out ear acupuncture usage of clinical traditional Korean medicine doctor and lay a foundation for the standards for its clinical application. Methods: An e-mail was sent to Korean medicine doctors whose email addresses are registered at the Association of Korea Oriental Medicine twice over two weeks. 280 completed questionnaires were used for the analysis. Results: 66.07% of respondents answered in use, whereas the answer that less than 10 per 100 patient applied was more than majority of 54.29%. The major field of treatment is addictive disorders such as smoking and the 80.11% patients got less than 3 days of treatment. Ear region was the most commonly treated area with 66.67%. Since the self removal frequency was high as 65.05% in compared to the case of visiting clinic. The rate of side effects was less than 10% (96.70%), and these side effects showed light symptoms such as pain (46.95%), itchiness (29.27%), flare (19.51%). The Acquired complements for improving ear acupuncture treatment was the development of effective treatment manual (28.57%) and increasing insurance costs (27.86%). Conclusions: Based on the survey, the vast majority of the TKM doctor used ear acupuncture but the frequency of use was low. We hope this study can be the basis for development of treatment manuals for various indications and safe treatment guidelines.

산림체험 프로그램이 갱년기 여성에 미치는 생리·심리적 변화

Middle-aged women are stressed by postmenopausal symptoms, and the higher the stress, the higher the symptoms of menopause and the lower the quality of life. This study conducted a forest experience programs in the forest stand of Torreya nucifera(L.) to identify changes in menopause symptoms and quality of life in middle-aged women in menopause. The subjects selected 15 ordinary people who agreed to voluntarily participate, and reviewed the bioethics review committee of Chonnam National University. From May to October 2019, It was conducted on seven subjects who participated in a total of six forest experience programs and physiological measures measured heart rate, sympathetic nerve and parasympathetic nerve activity levels to determine stress reduction. Psychological measures examined the Menopause Symptom Index and WHOQOL-BREF which applied nonparametric statistics. As a result, First, the post-experience values were significant than before the forest experience programs in the heart rate variability(z=-2.38, p<.05), total power(z=-2.20, p<.05), high Frequency(z=-2.21, p<.05), Low Frequency(z=-2.20, p<.05), Normalized LF(z=-2.20, p<.05). Second, pre-forest experience and post-experience values showed significant changes in the physical(z=-2.03, p<.05) and mental(z=-2.07, p<.05) symptoms of menopause and menopause symptoms index. Third, the quality of life index(z=-2.39, p<.05) was improved before and after the forest experience. In other words, forest experience programs have achieved significant results that have somewhat alleviated menopause symptoms. However, the limitation of this study is that the number of subjects was small, which is why more research data are needed.

Docetaxel과 Cisplatin으로 치료한 비소세포폐암환자에서 발생한 BOOP

A 60-year-old man was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma of lung and treated with weekly doses of docetaxel and cisplatin. Tumor mass and mediastinal lymphadenopathy disappeared after 4.5 cycles of chemotherapy. At one week post final chemotherapy, the patients developed sudden shortness of breath. New, multifocal infiltrations developed on both lungs without definitive evidence of infection. Despite administration of broad spectrum antibiotics, the lung lesion did not improve, so bronchoalveolar lavage and computed tomography-guided lung biopsy were performed. The proportion of lymphocytes was increased markedly and histopathology revealed squamous cell carcinoma combined with bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia. After high dose corticosteroid therapy, dyspnea and the newly developed consolidation had decreased slightly. However, dyspnea and hypoxemia increased again because of aggravated lung cancer since chemotherapy had stopped. Chemotherapy couldn`t be restarted due to the poor performance status of the patient. Later, patient died of respiratory failure from poor general condition and progression of lung cancer.

This study was conducted in autumn and winter to investigate the wearing habit of the obese children in the cold. Eighty elementary school children were volunteered as the subjects. Forty of them were selected as the obesity group(OG) and the other forty children were selected as the normal body weight group(NG). Clothing weight and motor ability of the subjects were measured and correlation of the clothing weight between the children and their mothers were investigated. Clothing weight did not show significant difference between OG and NG in autumn but in winter. In winter, boys lower clothing weight was less while girls upper clothing weight was less in OG than in NG. Motor ability was better in NG than OG but no correlation was found between clothing weight and motor ability in both group except for upper clothing weight in NG. There was no correlation of total clothing weight between girls and their mothers but between boys and their mothers.
