Recent advancements in AI technology have brought AI-based image generation tools into the spotlight in architectural design. This study explores the usability and applicability of the AI tool ‘Veras’ in interior design. Interior design students rendered the same scene using traditional rendering programs (Enscape, V-Ray, Twin-Motion) and Veras, and data on usability, satisfaction, and time taken were compared and analyzed. The results showed that Veras outperformed traditional methods in terms of usability and satisfaction. Despite some limitations, Veras demonstrated potential as a useful tool in the early design stages. While it is not yet suitable for detailed projects, Veras can enhance the efficiency of initial design processes and facilitate communication between designers and clients.

This study aims to propose a solution to prevent collisions with real-world objects during HMD-based VR experiences. We designed and tested a system incorporating bounding boxes and upper body interfaces to analyze their effectiveness in reducing collisions. The experiment involved 24 participants navigating a virtual environment with four different interface conditions: no interface, bounding box only, upper body interface only, and a combination of both. Our findings showed a significant reduction in collision frequency in environment where the bounding box was applied, with participants rating these environments as the safest. However, the upper body interface did not significantly impact collision prevention or user safety. This research provides practical insights into enhancing user safety in VR environments by incorporating bounding boxes. Future research should focus on seamlessly integrating these bounding boxes into VR settings to improve user immersion and further explore additional virtual interfaces to enhance overall VR experiences.
