Nanofibers of phenylsilsesquiazanes (SSQZ), as a precursor of inorganic silicon nitride nanoweb, was prepared using the electrospinning process. The SSQZ was prepared by ammonolysis of phenyl trichlorosilane and condensation of the resulting aminosilanes. The molecular weight of resulting SSQZ increased with initial concentration of phenyl trichlorosilane, reaching plateau above 20wt% of the silane. When the SSQZ was electrospun alone, it did not form fiber even with 20wt% concentration of SSQZ. However, it was possible to prepare fibers by adding poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) as a viscosity enhancer. The diameter the of electro spun fibers was modified by the total polymer content and the content of PEO. The best result was obtained when the total concentration of the polymer was in the range of 15 to 20 wt% while the SSQZ/PEO ratio was 95/5.

갑상선암에 대한 로봇 보조 내시경적 갑상선 절제술; 100예에 대한 초기 경험

Background and Objectives: Various surgical procedures have been performed using surgical robot in recent years and most reports proved that application of robotic technology for surgery is technically feasible and safe. The aim of this study is to introduce our technique of robot-assisted endoscopic thyroid surgery and demonstrate its utility in the surgical management of thyroid cancer. Materials and Methods: From October 4<sup>th</sup> 2007 through March 14<sup>th</sup> 2008, 100 patients with papillary thyroid cancer underwent robot-assisted endoscopic surgeries using a gasless trans-axillary approach. This novel robotic surgical approach allowed adequate endoscopic access for thyroid surgeries. All the procedures were completed successfully using the da Vinci surgical system (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, California, USA). We used four robotic arms with this system; a 12 mm telescope and three 5 mm instruments. The 3-dimensional magnified visualization obtained by the dual-channel endoscope and tremor-free instruments controlled by robot system helped surgeon do sharp and precise endoscopic dissection. Results: We performed 84 less-than total and 16 total thyroidectomies with ipsilateral central compartment node dissection. Mean operation times was 136.5 min. (range 79∼267 min.) in which the actual time for thyroidectomy with lymphadenectomy (console time) was 60.0 min. (range 25∼157 min). The average number of lymph nodes resected was 5.3 (range 1 to 28). There was no serious complication. Most patients could go home within 3 days after surgery. Conclusion: Our technique of robotic-assisted endoscopic thyroid surgery using a gasless trans-axillary approach is feasible, safe and promising for the selected patients with thyroid cancer. We suggest application of robotic technology for endsocopic thyroid surgeries could overcome the limitations of conventional endoscopic surgeries in the surgical management of thyroid cancer.

IT 기술의 눈부신 발전에 힘입어 큐브위성 개발에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해외의 큐브위성 개발이 어떻게 진행되고 있으며, 지구 저궤도, 달 탐사 및 소행성 탐사에 어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 조사하였다. 현재 큐브위성은 지구 저궤도에서 편대비행을 통한 정보교환, 랑데부ㆍ도킹 등 기존의 중대형 위성들이 수행했던 임무들로 연구범위가 확대되고 있으며, 더 나아가 달 탐사, 화성탐사, 소행성 탐사에도 활용하려는 적극적인 연구들이 진행 중이다. 급속도로 발전하고 있는 큐브위성 기술수준을 고려해 볼 때, 소형ㆍ저비용으로 지구 저궤도탐사가 가능하며, 향후 달, 소행성, 화성탐사에도 적극 활용될 수 있을 것이다. The research about CubeSat development is being carried out actively with remarkable development of IT technology. In this study, we searched the current status of the CubeSat development in overseas countries and utilization of CubeSat for the exploration in low Earth orbit, Lunar exploration, Asteroid exploration etc,. Now the missions of CubeSat are extended to the formation flying, rendezvous and docking etc, which are missions having been performed by the middle and large size satellites and furthermore many types of active researches are ongoing to apply CubeSat to Lunar exploration, Mars exploration, Asteroid exploration. When considering the level of the rapidly developing CubeSat technology, CubeSat with small size and low cost can be used for the exploration of the low earth mission and also can be highly utilized for the exploration of the Moon, Mars, Asteroid in the future.

연료 최소화를 위한 지구-달 천이궤적의 Delta-V 분석

1990년대 들어 달 탐사가 재개 된 후 2000년대부터 세계우주선진국들을 중심으로 달을 선점하기 위한 치열한 달 탐사 경쟁이 벌어지고 있다. 우리나라도 2020년경 자력 달 탐사를 목표로 선행연구를 수행 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국형 달 탐사를 대비하여 지구에서 달로 가는 천이궤적 중 연료 최소화를 위해 다양한 천이궤적의 Delt-V를 비교 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 한국형 달 탐사에 가장 적합한 지구-달 천이궤적을 확인하였으며, 실제 한국형 달 탐사시 유용한 자료로 사용될 것이다. After lunar explorations were restarted in 1990s, the world space advanced countries have been competing actively to preoccupy the Moon from the 2000s. Korea has been also conducting precedent study on lunar exploration to carry out that by ourselves in 2020. This study analyzed delta-V of various Earth-Moon transfer trajectories for minimization of fuel consumption. Through the simulation, the best Earth-Moon transfer trajectory for Korean lunar mission is suggested and it will be used as useful materials of Korean lunar mission.
유두상 갑상선 암의 큰 세포 변이(Tall Cell Variant)

Objectives: The tall cell variant is an uncommon variant and has been known as more aggressive form of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Owing to the rarity of these thyroid cancers, their clinical behavior remains incompletely understood. To elucidate the clinicopathologic characteristics of tall cell variant, we retrospectively reviewed our surgical experience of patients with tall cell variant. Methods: Between August 1993 and July 2004, a total of 11 consecutive patients who were pathologically diagnosed with tall cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent total (8 cases) or subtotal thyroidectomy (3 cases) with central compartment node dissections. The lateral neck dissection was added in 6 patients. After the operation, neck ultrasound and serum thyroglobulin were checked regularly during the follow-up period. Results: The mean age of the patients was 56.6years (range, 30-74years) at the time of diagnosis. 3 patients were men, and 8 were women. The mean diameter of tumor was 3.7cm(range, 1.5-6.0cm), and 6 patients had lateral neck node metastasis. Extrathyroidal extension was seen in 5 patients (45%). Loco-regional recurrence was found in 2 patients (18%), and distant metastasis in 1 patient (9%). The 5-year disease free survival rate was 68%. Conclusion: The tall cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma is an uncommon disease. Clinicopathologic feature and prognosis of this disease show more aggressive behaviors than ordinary papillary thyroid carcinoma. More aggressive treatment and close follow-up should be undertaken in the tall cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
