It has been the generally accepted theory in Korean academic world that the study of MUSOK in Korea had hegun at the first decade of 20th century. But recently some challenging maintenance argues that the beginning years of the study of MUSOK have to he retraced to 17 century. However, according to some meterials from old books written in 12 century- show us that even in 6 century there were systematic interests in MUSOK and collections of the folk stories about it. Therefor, the ages of the academic interests and research about MUSOK in Korea should he rearranged as follow: 1) From 6 to 18 century; the age of inception. 2) From 1900 to 1945; the age of the systematic interests. 3) From 1945 to 1960; the age of the pilot investigations. 4) 1960s; the age of the academic development. 5) 1970s; the age of the interdisciplinary researches.
