        화상분석기와 CLSM을 이용한 침.활엽수 섬유의 배합비에 따른 인쇄화상 분석

        The purpose of this study was to analyze how the fiber properties and mixing ratio of softwood and hardwood pulp affect on roundness of printed image. Softwood pulp and hardwood pulp were refined to 400 and 600ml CSF by Valley beater and handsheets of 70 g/$m^2$ basis weight were made at different mixing ratios of hardwood and softwood pulp. The roundness, dot area, and shape of the printed dot were measured by Image Analyzer. The depths and shapes of the acridine orange penetration into paper were measured by CLSM. With higher mixing ratio of hardwood pulp, the paper showed higher air-permeability and better formation, especially at lower freeness. The roundness of the printed image became better and the dot size became smaller when the amount of hardwood pulp increased. Penetration depth of acridine orange by CLSM became greater and roundness increased to real circle when the amount of hardwood pulp increased. It was thought that higher mixing ratio of hardwood fibers resulted in efficient penetration by better formation with uniform micro-pore distribution and it increased roundness. It was thought that fiber properties and mixing ratio affected the structure of paper and the shape of the printed dot. This study showed that the measurement of depth of the liquid penetration into paper without destruction and contact was feasible. Moreover, this method showed that the shape of the liquid penetration was measurable.

        Quantification of bulk form and angularity of particle with correlation of shear strength and packing density in sands

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The study presents the quantification of shape parameters in sands. Natural sands, crushed sands, and glass beads are subjected to 2D microscopic and 3D X-ray computed tomographic imaging. Parameters of sphericity, elongation and slenderness are selected for analyzing the bulk forms and roundness is selected to quantify the angularity. Relationship among 2D shape parameters confirms that sphericity, elongation and slenderness are independent with roundness. Critical state friction angles are obtained by a direct shear test and void ratio ranges are measured as well. Both sphericity and roundness denote the strong linearity with void ratio range (<I>e</I> <SUB> <I>max</I> </SUB> − <I>e</I> <SUB> <I>min</I> </SUB>) bounded 0.15 and critical state friction angle (<I>ϕ</I> <SUB> <I>cs</I> </SUB>) delineated by 20° at the unity, emphasizing that readily computable sphericity is sufficient to estimate properties of sands even without roundness. The multiple 2D projections of 3D images and their correlation for different orientation support that either bulk form or angularity in 2D images are acceptable enough to establish correlations between shape parameters and properties in sands. It implies that 2D quantification of particle shape is rational and can be used to approximate soil properties without conducting the laboratory experiments.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Sphericity and roundness are independent with each other while round particles tend to be spherical in sands </LI> <LI> Computing sphericity is sufficient to establish correlation with soil properties rather than hardly quantifiable roundness </LI> <LI> Quantification of particle shape in 2D is rational to comprehend shape-dependent properties </LI> </UL> </P>

        진원도 형상 추정 연구

        The criteria for determining the elements are the minimum zone method(MZM) and the least squares method(LSM). The LSM is deterministic and simple but is limited at the measurements whose errors are significant compared with form errors. For the precise condition, minimum zone method(MZM) has been selected to determine the elements. The roundness is the fundamental problem in the evaluating form errors. In this paper, anew approach adapting the genius education concept is proposed to obtain an accurate results for the MZM and the LSM of the roundness. Its computational algorithm is studied on a set of measured sample data. To be of almost no account of the specification(the number and the standard deviation etc.) of the sanple data, the results shoqs excellent reliability and high accuracy in estimating the roundness.

        The purpose of this study is to improve the roundness of CNC turning so that helps the operator to choose the right turning conditions to produce a product with the given parameters. This paper focuses on determining the optimal levels of machining factors for circular shaft with CNC turning. For this purpose, the optimization of factors is performed based on experimental design method. A design and analysis of experiments are conducted to study the effects of these factors on the roundness by using the S/N ratio, analysis of ANOVA, and F-test. Factors, namely, fixed pressure, wall thickness, depth of cut, and feed rate are optimized with consideration of the roundness. The boring tool used in this study is a tungsten carbide coated. The material of workpiece is Al6061 and the machining method is dry cutting.

        볼엔드밀 가공시 이송변화에 따른 가공형상 특성

        Due to the development of the CNC machine tool and CAM software, sculptured surface machining can be broadly used in die and mold industries and ball end milling process is often used for the sculptured surface machining. It is found out how feedrate affects the precision of the machining and also tried to study the most suitable feedrate in specific cutting condition. Two eddy current sensors were used for measuring tool deflections of X, Y axis, dynamometer for cutting force and roundness tester for roundness. It was found that the tool deflection is getting better as tool path is going to farther from the center of convex surface. The reason is that the cutting force is increased as the tool approaches to the center. Examining the roundness, cutting force and tool deflection characteristics, it was found that the most suitable feedrate is 90mm/min in convex surface and 120mm/min in concave surface.

        Influence of the Character of Fly Ash on the Fluidity of Fly Ash Cement Paste

        The Influence of the character of fly ash on the fluidity of cement paste with a polycarboxylic acid type superplasticizer was investigated in connection with the particle size distribution, unburned carbon content, specific surface area and shape of the fly ash. The fluidity of the fly ash cement paste with an added 20 vol% fly ash increases with an increasing roundness of the fly ash and it decreases with an increasing n-value of the fly ash cement. There is a linear correlation between the roundness/n-value and the fluidity of fly ash cement paste.

        The Influence of the character of fly ash on the fluidity of cement paste with a polycarboxylic acid type superplasticizer was investigated in connection with the particle size distribution, unburned carbon content, specific surface area and shape of the fly ash. The fluidity of the fly ash cement paste with an added 20 vol% fly ash increases with an increasing roundness of the fly ash and it decreases with an increasing n-value of the fly ash cement. There is a linear correlation between the roundness/n-value and the fluidity of fly ash cement paste.
