풍속화를 활용한 초등 국악 수업 연구-음악·사회 교과의 통합 수업 설계-

The Revised Music Curriculum of 2007 clarifies to instruct and guide students considering connections of music studies to other curricula. Accordingly, this research has designed an integrated lesson for music and social studies. In particular, a lesson plan for Korean music in elementary school was designed making use of the Korean genre pictures in the textbooks of social studies for 5th grade, and a lesson plan about the life and aesthetic enjoyment of ancestors in Korean was designed out of them. In addition, the research investigated the changes in the students before and after the class. The results are as follows. First, there were positive changes in students’ interest level with regard to the Korean traditional music and society, and that there were a fairly large number of students who responded that they were able to understand easier, especially when they learned Korean traditional music in tandem with social studies. Second, regarding the level of understanding of Julpungnyu and Samhyeon yukgak, the result revealed that a large number of the students became able to understand it in a comparatively more accurately than before the lesson. Third, as to the students’ understanding of the high-ranking aristocratic officials and commoners in Joseon Period, the most of students were able to infer social status system of those days from the genre pictures. 2007년 개정 교육과정에서는 음악 교과와 타 교과의 연계를 고려하여 학생들을 지도할 수 있도록 명시하고 있는데, 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 음악과 사회 교과를 통합하여 수업을 설계해 보았다. 특히, 초등학교 5학년 사회 교과에서 다루고 있는 풍속화를 활용한 초등 국악 수업안을 고안해 내었는데, 그 중에서도 풍속화 속에 담긴 옛 조상들의 삶과 풍류에 대한 수업안을 설계하였고, 이를 실제 수업에 적용하고 난 후 수업 전과 수업 후의 학생들의 변화를 알아보았다. 그 결과 첫째, 학생들은 수업 전에 비해 수업 후에 국악에 대한 흥미도와 사회과에 대한 흥미도에 있어서 긍정적인 변화를 보여 주었고, 특히 국악과 사회를 같이 배울 때 이해가 더 잘된다고 응답한 학생들이 상당히 많아졌음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 줄풍류와 삼현육각에 대한 이해도의 변화에 있어서는 수업 전에 비해 수업 후에 많은 학생들이 비교적 정확히 이해하게 된 것으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 조선 시대 양반과 상민에 대한 이해도에 있어서는 대부분의 학생들이 풍속화를 통해 그 당시의 신분제를 추리해 낼 수 있게 된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Music-Centered Integrated Lesson Plan Based on IB PYP

The purpose of this study is to design music-centered integrated lessons based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). For this purpose, first, the characteristics of IB PYP were examined, and the scope and sequence, and learning contents on music subject of IB PYP were compared with those of Korea National Curriculum. Second, based on this analysis, the music-centered integrated lessons based on transdisciplinary themes were designed in a spiral curriculum. The conclusion of this study are summarized as follows. First, the main characteristic of IB PYP is to integrate subjects on transdisciplinary themes and to help students form their own knowledge through inquiry learning. Second, strands of music in IB PYP are ‘reacting’ and ‘creating’, and the overall expectation level, conceptual understanding, and learning outcomes for each strand are presented. It is worth noting that the IB PYP emphasized understanding of the key concepts of each subject. Third, based on the transdisciplinary themes of IB PYP, a music-centered integrated lesson plan that deepens spirally throughout all grades was devised, and the example of 12 lessons for 6 graders focusing on key concepts and inquiry questions is presented.

초등학교에서의 창작동요 수용에 관한 연구

오늘날 창작되는 동요의 수가 크게 늘어나고, 새로운 경향의 동요에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 주요 방송사의 창작동요제들은 참신한 창작동요의 발굴과 보급에 크게 기여하고 있다. 하지만 새로 발표된 동요들은 수년 단위로 개편되는 음악교과서에 수록될 때까지 초등학교 현장에서 적극적으로 활용되지 못한다. 무엇보다도 발표된 동요들에 대한 학생들의 반응이 점검되고 있지않으며, 그것들을 지도할 방법에 대한 연구가 아직 축적되지 못하였다. 학생들에게 일방적으로 노래를 제공하는 수업을 지양하고, 음악교과의 취지를 살린 포괄적인 접근법으로 창작동요를 활용할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 대표적 창작동요제의 입상곡들에 대한 초등학생들의 호응 정도를 조사하여 그 현황을 파악하였다. 그리고 학생들의 반응과 노래의 유형을 고려하여 수업에 사용할 제재곡들을 선정하고, 그것들을 현장에서 지도하는 방법을 제시하였다. Children's song which are taught in classroom of elementary school chiefly come out of music textbook, while great number of children's song have been recently composed. According to the change of generations, we meet the demands of the times also in educational activities of music lesson. Viewed from this angle, it is important to choose impartially new songs as teaching materials in music class. When teachers are intending to deal with these new songs in public school, there are great problems how to introduce them. The purpose of this study is to highlight main aspects of receiving recent children's songs that have been published through musical contests about composition of children's song and to provide an alternative framework for taking advantage of them in classroom. This paper thus attempts to outline methodical models of handling new children's songs in elementary school. In exploring the question of teaching method which includes choosing songs as teaching materials, this paper demonstrates three lesson plans for fifth and sixth grades applying systematical frames. There are three viewpoints to be regarded, so that teaching integrated arts, interpreting music in social context, and making full use of human senses, in order to materialize instruction for the whole man and improve the quality of life.

Integrating Math and Music: Teaching Ideas

Mathematical creativity, an important goal in mathematics education, can be promoted through an integrated learning environment where students explore mathematics with other subject areas such as science, technology, engineering and art. Establishing such learning environments is not a trivial task. Therefore, this creates a need for the development of instructional resources promoting meaningful integration. This paper focuses on integration of the fields of mathematics and music. Beginning with some of the historical discoveries and views of the connections between mathematics and music, this paper attends to several musical concepts correlating to middle school mathematical content and then provides ideas for teaching.

예비교사의 멀티리터러시 함양을 위한 국어-음악과 통합 수업안 개발 및 효과

The purpose of this study was to develop the integrated lesson plan of Korean and music for the raising multi-literacy of pre-service teachers and to analyze the effect of the integrated lesson plan. To this end, after examining the core contents and components of multi-literacy, exploring the connected points between the Korean and music, and focusing on the writing, music appreciation, and creating, a total of 9 sessions of integrated lesson plan of Koran and music were developed. The integrated lesson plans were applied for 3 weeks to the 3rd grade students of J University of Education. Qualitative data such as pre-post questionnaires, reflection journals on class, music videos produced by groups, and mutual opinions written on online bulletin boards were collected and analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the integrated lesson plan of Korean and music had a positive effect on the improvement of multi-literacy of pre-service teachers - in terms of perception of music media effect, critical writing competency, and cooperative/ critical communication competency and the change of perception of multi-literacy. The result of this study suggests that the integrated lesson plan of Korean and music can be a useful way to raise multi-literacy of pre-service teachers. 본 연구는 예비교사의 멀티리터러시 함양을 위하여 국어-음악과 통합 수업안을 개발하고 효과를 분석하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 멀티리터러시의 핵심 내용과 구성 요소를 고찰하고, 국어과의 글쓰기 영역과 음악과의 감상 및 표현 영역에 초점을 맞추어 총 9차시의 국어-음악과 통합 수업안을 개발하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 교육과정은 J 교육대학교 3학년 3개 심화전공 학생들을 대상으로 3주간에 걸쳐 적용하였으며, 사전 사후 설문지, 수업 성찰일지, 모둠별로 제작한 동영상, 온라인 게시판에 작성한 상호 의견 등의 자료를 수집하여 효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 국어-음악과 통합 수업안이 음악 매체 효과 인식, 비평적 글쓰기 능력, 협력적·비평적 의사소통 능력의 측면에서 예비교사의 멀티리터러시 향상과 멀티리터러시에 대한 인식의 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 이는 국어과의 음악과의 통합 수업이 예비교사의 멀티리터러시 함양을 위해 유용한 방안이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

주제중심의 통합적 국악수업이 초등학생의 음악 학습동기에 미치는 영향

This study is conducted to look into how Korean traditional music play activities based on the theme-centered and integrated approach affect on the learning motivation of elementary school students. The subjects of this study are 38 sixth graders(20 boys and 18 girls) in one class at G elementary school in S city. For data analysis, both quantitative analysis using the statistics program and qualitative analysis using students’ portfolio and teachers’ observation record were conducted. According to the findings, the theme-centered and integrated Korean traditional lesson using Korean traditional music plays showed a significant effect in attention and satisfaction, so it was found to have an effect on students’ music learning motivation. In addition, the results of qualitative analysis showed activities through cooperation and collaboration between students and teachers made open and enquiring Korean traditional music lessons possible and helped improve the students’ interest and participation in the class.
