        Improvement of light-shelf performance through the use of a diffusion sheet

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Several studies have addressed the issue of increases in the energy consumption associated with lighting in buildings. The light-shelf is a natural lighting system that efficiently reduces the amount of energy consumed for lighting by drawing natural light into a room through reflection. However, the performance of the light-shelf is reduced as a result of external environmental factors, such as the solar azimuth, and it can also produce glare while drawing natural light into the room. The present study examined the use of a light-shelf with a diffusion sheet, with the goal of improving LED lighting efficiency and reducing glare, and set out to validate its efficacy by evaluating its performance according to the position at which the diffusion sheet was attached. As part of the present study, performance evaluation cases were configured according to the diffusion sheet application and attachment position, and evaluations were conducted using a full-size test-bed. It was found that a conventional light-shelf brought more light into a room than that with the diffusion sheet, but glare was generated at certain angles in each season. However, the proposed light-shelf with the diffusion sheet attached to the upper window glass was analyzed and found to be effective at reducing lighting energy consumption by 2% while improving the glare and uniformity compared to that of a conventional light-shelf. This study is meaningful since it establishes the basic data for future light shelf design by deriving relevant variables and considering lighting energy reduction and glare.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Location of the diffusion sheet determines the performance of light shelf. </LI> <LI> Glass of the window is most appropriate to apply diffusion sheet. </LI> <LI> Diffusion sheet can improve Uniformity and glare of the light shelf. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Coil of thin steel sheet is often prone to failure when it is transported and laded into yard. Evaluation for the transportation of steel sheet coil is needed to prevent from failure with steel sleeve of suitable thickness inserted into the coil inside. The coil is rolled by steel sleeve of about 150℃, internal stress of 49 MPa and it cools down to the normal temperature, and it is transported by an O-hook of crane. In this study, stress analysis of sleeve by finite element method(FEM) were carried out under the condition of typical load and thermal stress and strength evaluation was performed by an optimal thickness of the sleeve with the strength, safety, durability and optimal design being considered.

        Measurement uncertainty evaluation with correlation for dynamic tensile properties of auto-body steel sheets

        This paper is concerned with evaluation of the measurement uncertainty of true stress-true strain curves of auto-body steel sheets at various strain rates considering correlation of input quantities. The measurand is defined as the true stress at strain rates ranging from 1 to 100s<SUP>-1</SUP>. The true stress has a functional relation with the tensile load, the initial width and the initial thickness, the initial and deformed length of a specimen. Since the initial and deformed lengths of a specimen are measured by the exactly same procedure, the two quantities are correlated and considered in the uncertainty evaluation model. An analytic model to evaluate the measurement uncertainty is established properly by considering the correlation with the guidelines suggested by the GUM, ISO/IEC Guide 98-3. The standard uncertainties of the input quantities and influence factors are evaluated for dynamic tensile properties of DDQ, TRIP980, and TRIP1180 steel sheets as well as the covariance associated with the correlated input quantities. The standard uncertainty of the true stress is also evaluated to consider the change of the strain rate during the test. The combined standard uncertainty is then evaluated including standard uncertainties of the input quantities and influence factors. The expanded uncertainty is obtained by choosing an appropriate coverage factor. The absolute amount of the measurement uncertainty decreases with consideration of the correlation between the initial and deformed length since their uncertainty contributions are almost canceled during the calculation of combined uncertainty. Finally, the reliability of dynamic tensile properties of auto-body steel sheets is presented with a statement of the expanded uncertainty.

        지역특산물 브랜드 개발을 위한 사전진단모형 연구 : 공동브랜드를 중심으로

        오늘날 지방정부는 FTA타결로 세계 각국의 지역농산물 브랜드와의 경쟁을 피할 수 없게 되었고, 국내외 환경변화와 경제위기를 겪으며 쇠퇴하고 있는 지역을 활성화하기 위환 일환으로 지방정부는 지역특산물과 지역 명칭, 지역수공예품 등으로 연일 새로운 브랜드를 개발하고 있는 추세이다. 그러나 오히려 무분별한 지역특산물 공동브랜드의 개발은 좋은 지역특산물을 이용한 지역이미지 제고에 큰 벽으로 작용하고 있고, 이는 뚜렷한 성과 없이 소멸되는 브랜드로 이어져 국가 예산의 낭비를 초래하고 있다. 이러한 배경으로 본 연구에서는 지역 활성화를 위한 지역특산물 공동브랜드 개발에 있어 실패율을 줄이기 위한 방안으로 사전진단모형을 제안하였으며, 문헌연구를 통해 지역특산물 공동브랜드에 있어 성공의 관점을 정의하여, 국내·외 공동브랜드를 분석하였으며, 공동브랜드의 문제점과 성공의 관점을 각 체크항목별로 연결하여 사전평가모형의 체크시트의 평가항목으로 구성하였다. 그 결과 체크시트를 통해 진단되는 유형은 총 6가지이며, 지역특산물 공동브랜드의 성공의 관점으로 정의된 요소로 분석되었던 우수사례와 실패사례인 '햇사레'와 '소레인'의 사례검증을 통해 체크시트가 유의함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 최종결과물인 사전진단모형의 체크시트를 통해 지자체 스스로 자체 개발수준을 객관적으로 진단할 수 있고 개발방향과 목표수립에 도움을 줄 수 있는 유용한 도구로 활용 할 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있으며, 국··내외로 경쟁력 있고 차별화된 브랜드로써 긍정적 지역이미지 창출과 지역경제 활성화에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다. Today, With the rapid increase of imported agricultural product brands as the settlement of FTA is in progress, local governments are unavoidable to compete with various farm product brands from Korea and every country all over the world. In order to vitalize regions that are sinking due to such domestic and international environmental changes and economic crisis, the current trend is that local governments are developing new brands every day including regional specialties, regional name and local handcraft. But thoughtless development of Co-Brands for local specialties is acting as a huge barrier on improving local image by using good regional specialties, which is lead to the brands dissipated without any distinct results and causes the waste of national budgets. Based on such background, this study suggested the advance diagnostic model as a measure to reduce failure rate when developing Co-Brands for regional specialties for regional vitalization, also analyzed domestic and international Co-Brands by defining the perspective of success for Co-Brands of regional specialties through literature study, and composed the Pre-Evaluation Model with valuation items of the check sheet by connecting problems of Co-Brands with the perspective of success for each check item. In the results, there were total six types diagnosed through the check sheet and the significance of the check sheet was confirmed for the reliability through case verification of 'Hessare(case of excellence)' and 'Sorain(cases of failure)' that were analyzed as an element defined as the perspective of success for Co-Brands of regional specialties. The objective of this study is to provide the check sheet of the Pre-Evaluation Model(final result) that can be usefully used by local governments for objectively diagnosing their own development levels and establishing development directions and goals. It is expected to be helpful to create positive local images and vitalize regional economy as competitive and differentiated brands domestically and internationally.

        광선반 채광성능 개선을 위한 프리즘시트 적용 방안 연구

        Recently, there has been an increase in the number of studies on the performance of light shelf with an aim of solving the issue of increasing lighting energy consumption in the building sector. However, the efficiency of the light shelf is limited in terms of building energy saving as operating technologies are applied to improve the daylighting performance in response to the external environment. Therefore, this study proposes a light shelf using a prism sheet and aims to verify its effectiveness based on performance evaluation through a full-scale test bed. The conclusions of the study are as follows : 1) This study derived the optimal variables for light shelf installation (Case 1), prism sheet attachment (Case 2), and light shelf with prism sheet (Case 3). 2) Based on the optimal variables, saving lighting energy was achieved in Case 3 compared to Case 1 and Case 2 by 2.6% and 14.9%, respectively. In addition, the fixed type of Case 3 at the angle of 0° led to saving of lighting energy compared to Case 2 and Case 3 by 2.6% and 14.9%, respectively. The results reveal that Case 3 proposed in this study is effective in terms of using the prism sheet to obtain the daylighting efficiency of a movable light shelf. 3) Based on the optimal angles derived for each case, the uniformity of Case 3 can be improved by 11.4% and 12.1% in the summer, and 0% and 6.3% in the mid-season, compared to Case 1 and Case 2, respectively. However, the application of the prism sheet during winter reduces the uniformity, so it is preferable to remove the prism sheet during winter.

        학생 인턴제의 임상실습 공통평가 모듈 개발

        Purpose: The aims of this paper are to develop a student evaluation format as a part of core clinical clerkship (student internship) program at Gachon Medical School, and to identify its impeding factors in implementation. Methods: Both rating scale of Likert type and check list for student s clerkship assessment were designed; the rating scale format was developed into two parts, namely attendance and the clinical competence demonstrated during the clerkship in which 3 domains of knowledge, skills and attitude were included in balance; the professional competence was made of 9 items, each being designed to accommodate 3 degrees by learner s performance. The clinical instructors in charge were requested to sit a short feedback session on the evaluation results with students who were signed at the end. Nursing staff was also asked to participate in evaluation of the student attitude in a limited area. Results: Despite the full acceptance of the evaluation approach theoretically, its practical implementation was not successful because of difficulties related to adjustment of their department-based scoring system to the comprehensive assessment, or unfamiliarity with face-to-face feedback system. Conclusion: The authors assume that this Likert type of the rating scale is a simple, more comprehensive and strong tool to meet the learning objectives, and easy to enhance the feedback effect. It is, however, advised that the formative reporting system is crucial to transform the traditional evaluation approach into the pass/fail format so that unnecessary conversion risk is eliminated.

        자기점검과 자기평가지를 이용한 자기관리 전략이 발달장애 대학생의 수업준비 및 과제수행행동에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self- management strategies using self-evaluation sheet and self-monitoring through cellular phone on task execution acts and class preparation in English lessons for college students with development disabilities. The multiple baseline design across subjects was employed to examine the intervention and maintenance. The finding of this study through self-evaluation sheet and self- monitoring techniques using cellular phone was as follows: 1) The level of task execution acts in English class was upgraded. 2) The level of preparation for next English class was elevated. 3) These upgraded task execution acts were maintained highly during maintenance period. Based on the results mentioned above, This study implies that self- management strategies using self-evaluation and reporting its results to their school master through celluar phone has positive effects in helping students with developmental disabilities to be active and independent participants for their own behavior change in English Instruction.

        2015 개정 교육과정의 중학교 기술·가정 적정기술 수업과정안 개발

        The purpose of this study is to develop an instructional plan for 'appropriate technology' education, which is newly introduced in the 2015 Revised Technology and Home Economics curriculum. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the research was carried out through the stages of preparation, development and improvement. In the preparation stage, teaching design was setup by analyzing the 2015 revised curriculum, and the criteria of the appropriate technology were sorted and categorized by appropriate technological literature. In the development stage, first, evaluation items were created according to the criterion of recategorized appropriate technology, and finally evaluation sheet was developed through expert verification. Secondly, to select the topic of the experiment on optimal technology problem solving activity, the scope of the appropriate technology subject was limited to Korea, and it was searched from the problem situation which is easily encountered in everyday life. As a result, it was selected as the theme of air purifier. The researchers evaluated it as the evaluation sheet and concluded that it is suitable as an appropriate technology. Finally, an instructional plan including the problem solving activity was developed. In the improvement stage, the instructional plan was revised by the evaluation by experts and students. The validity of the developed instructional plan was found to be highly valid. The implications of this study for the development of the appropriate technology teaching program are as follows. First, the subject of the problem solving activity task included in the appropriate technology class course should consider the criteria that appropriate technology should have. Second, when designing the appropriate technology classes, students should perform the process of examining and evaluating data on the actual technology products in the appropriate technology classes. Third, it is necessary to introduce not only technologies for third world people but also technologies for marginalized neighbors of advanced countries including Korea. 이 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 기술·가정과 교육과정에 새로 도입된 내용요소인 ‘적정기술’교육을 위해 수업과정안을 개발하는 것이며, 준비, 개발, 개선의 단계를 거쳐 연구를 진행하였다. 준비 단계에서 2015 개정 교육과정을 분석하여 수업 설계의 방향을 설정하였으며, 적정기술 문헌을 통해 적정기술의 준거를 정리하고 재범주화 하였다. 개발 단계에서는 첫째, 재범주화한 적정기술의 준거에 따른 평가 문항을 만들고 전문가 검증을 통해 최종 평가지를 개발하였다. 둘째, 일상생활에서 쉽게 접하는 문제 상황 중에서 적정기술 문제해결 체험활동 주제를 탐색하기 위해 적정기술 대상의 범위를 우리나라로 한정하였으며, 그 결과 공기청정기 만들기가 주제로 선정되었다. 앞서 개발한 적정기술 평가지로 이 주제를 평가하여 적정기술로서의 적합성을 갖도록 조정하였으며, 최종적으로 적정기술 문제해결 체험활동과제를 개발하였다. 마지막으로 적정기술 문제해결 체험활동과제를 포함한 전체 수업과정안을 개발하였다. 개선 단계에서는 8명의 기술교육 및 적정기술 관련 전문가에 의한 타당도 검사와 서울시 J 중학교 3학년 100여 명의 학생에 의한 예비평가를 거쳤고, 이 결과를 토대로 수업과정안이 수정·보완되어 총 12차시로 개편되었다. 이 과정 중 전문가 타당도 검사에서 질문 문항 평균 4.80, 학생 예비평가에서 질문 문항 평균 4.46의 결과를 얻어서 전반적으로 타당도가 높게 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과가 주는 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 적정기술의 요소가 갖추어진 문제해결 체험활동과제를 만들고 수업에 적용하기 위해서는, 적정기술이 갖추어야 할 준거를 바탕으로 하는 것이 바람직하다. 둘째, 적정기술 수업을 설계할 때 학생들이 적정기술 수업에서 실제 적정기술 제품들에 대한 자료를 조사해보고 평가지로 평가해보는 과정을 포함한다면, 적정기술의 필요성과 적정기술에 대한 이해도를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 적정기술이 적용될 수 있는 범위를 제 3세계뿐만 아니라 우리나라를 비롯한 선진국의 소외된 이웃들로 확대하여 소개하고 우리 주변에서 필요로 하는 적정기술을 찾아보게 하면, 우리 사회의 약자를 위할 수 있으며 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 문제상황이 되므로 학생들의 흥미를 높이고 결과물의 활용도도 높일 수 있을 것이다.

        초등영어교육에서의 세계시민교육 효과 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of global citizenship education which mainly focused on ‘values, perceptions and attitudes’ at the elementary school level. This study used pre- and post self-evaluation sheets to examine the effects of global citizenship program that was applied into an elementary school English classes for 5 months. Teaching materials, including teaching plans were developed based on the current elementary school textbook. Queries of the self-evaluation sheet were designed to identify student’s global citizenship demonstrated in English classes. The self-evaluation test results were collected from 116 elementary school students in the experimental group and 120 elementary school students in the control group. The results implied that the global citizenship education could be meaningfully and successfully applied into English classes at the elementary school level. The research data showed that the global citizenship program has positively influenced students’ cognition in terms of their interests in the world peace pursuit and the measures for the relief. The data also presented that students perceived English learning as the necessity of understanding world cultures.

        국내 터널 갱구사면 데이터베이스 관리 시스템 개발 및 상태평가 기법에 관한 연구

        The number of tunnels are in fact increasing as a part of linear improvement project of general national highway and road enlargement and pavement project. Recently, collapses of portal slope are also occurring considerably, due to local raining from severe rain storm and abnormal weather. Accordingly, it was risen a necessity to efficiently respond to tunnel portal slope damage and maintenance in Korea and oversea nations. This paper is a basic proposal to execute a survey on the current status and state of the tunnel portal slopes that were already installed and are now being operated along general national highways, and also to execute state evaluation for the purpose of managing those effectively. As a research method, domestic tunnels were analyzed in accordance with geometrical shape such as access type, portal form, and tunnel type, etc. via field survey to analyze the types of tunnel portal slopes along national highways. State evaluation classification sheet is presented to divide classes for the danger state of the surveyed portal slopes, and then the related grades are divided. It is mainly aimed at classifying the tunnel portal slope along national highways with using this state evaluation, to use it as basic data so that continuous maintenance can be executed in the future in accordance with danger classes. 일반 국도의 선형개량사업 및 도로 확포장 사업의 일환으로 터널의 수가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 최근들어 집중호우 및 이상기후로 인하여 국지적인 강우가 발생하여 갱구사면의 붕괴도 적지 않게 발생하고 있다. 따라서, 국내의 터널 갱구사면 피해 및 유지관리를 효율적으로 대처할 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구는 일반국도변에 기설치 운영되고 있는 터널 갱구사면의 현황 및 상태에 대한 조사를 실시하고 수집된 데이터의 효율적인 관리를 위한 데이터베이스 시스템을 개발, 향후 유지관리를 위한 상태평가 기법을 개발하는 것이다. 연구방법으로는 국도변의 터널 갱구사면의 형태를 분석하기 위하여 현장 조사를 통하여 국내의 터널을 진입형태, 갱문형식, 터널 유형 등 기하학적인 형태에 따른 분석을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료의 효율적인 관리를 위해서 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 사용하여 입력, 수정 및 조회가 가능한 데이터베이스 관리 시스템을 개발하였고, 조사된 갱구사면의 위험상태에 대한 등급을 분류하기 위한 상태평가 기준표를 제시하고 이에 따른 등급을 분류하였다. 본 상태평가를 이용하여 국도변의 터널 갱구사면을 분류하여 위험 등급에 따라 향후 지속적으로 유지 관리를 실시할 수 있도록 기초자료로 활용하고자 하는 것이 주 목적이다.
