        SICE Trans-Division Technology Committee on Embedded Systems (TDTC ES) has been chartered which is trying to identify the issues for post embedded systems era and to explore approaches solving these issues. The issues range from technical challenges to institutional innovations. This paper presents current TDTC ES activities as well as its background ideas. The basic belief is that systems control technology is the key factor for present and future embedded systems.

        In this thesis, and embedded system is developed. The developed embedded system is a embedded experim with A7S SoC device integrated ARM7TDMI microprocessor with FPGA. An embedded linux is ported on the embedded system Based on the embedded system ported embedded OS, I study a practical application skill using SoC. Some interfaces for controlling some peripheral devices using SoC are implemented in developed embedded system. A digital logic is also implemented in SoC. It is proved that the embedded system using SoC gets a convenience of system design and some advantages of performance compared with the embedded system using microprocessor as a result.

      • Research on Embedded Network Real-Time Video Monitoring System Based on Zynq

        With the improvement of the performance of the embedded processor, the real-time network video monitoring system based on embedded technology becomes a developing direction of the network video with its low price and portability. In this paper, software and hardware co-design method is adopted to design an embedded system. ARM of the Zynq chip is responsible for embedded system structures and high definition video processing, and FPGA is used to design other logic and hardware expansion. Compared with the traditional network video monitoring technology, the embedded network video monitoring technology based on Zynq not only improves the quality of the image, but also has better real-time performance and scalability.

        In this paper, we derive implications of the management over embedded software in weapon systems of ROK in terms of Total Life Cycle System Management (TLCSM). The role of embedded software which is installed in weapon systems is more important as we develop more complicated and accurate weapon systems. We have not concentrated on the management over embedded software when we develop and operate weapon systems, but it is time to focus on that more actively. At first, we need to establish infrastructure for software management and also it should be regulated by act or other things. At the planning phase of weapon systems, we need to document requirements and integrated logistics support for the embedded software and then budget plan for the total life cycle of the embedded software should be included. At the acquisition phase, we need to develop technical data of the embedded software, and then reviewing, evaluating processes are checked. Also continuous product improvement program should be executed to sustain the embedded software during its operating phase.

        임베디드 시스템을 이용한 인터넷 제어감시 시스템에 관한연구

        Recently embedded systems are widely used in various industrial fields as supervisory controller because they have many merits. One of merits seems to be that operating environment of embedded system is the same as development environment using PC. That makes developing and manufacturing period shorten and also proper time to market. Most of all machinery have sequential control system for their maneuvering which is composed of relays, contacts, timers, etc.In this paper, software sequential control system is proposed to be able to replace hardware sequential control system by using embedded system. A lot of merits by the software sequential control system can be expected in the respect of economic reproduction, intelligent technologies and utilities. And porting of LINUX operating system to embedded system is carried out and device drivers and interface boards for LINUX OS are designed for controlling air compressor by software. Internet remote control and monitoring system of air compressor is implemented with Java script and CGI for these purposes. The experiment for operating air compressor system is taken through internet networks. The results show that developed system can be used for real plant.

        체감형 운동 기기를 위한 개인화된 임베디드 시스템의 개발

        In this paper, we propose an interactive embedded system framework for efficient training management in u-health environment. First, we analyzed various requirements of smart training systems for quality of life. We also analyzed the oversea trends and positive effects of the embedded system in terms of both technical and economical factors. Second, we proposed detailed design specification for embedded hardware implementation. Third, we developed effective OS(Operating System) specification for the embedded hardware. Finally, we developed a training scenario and embedded applications such as training control software and analysis software for the smart training systems.

      • Design of Reconfigurable-Wearable Life-Log System by Using Embedded System

        Particularly, embedded systems play the important role in the field of Mobile Devices. Many sensors are mounted on the embedded system in order to satisfy the user requirement or provide many services. But there are apparatus (sensors) which a user doesn't want. Moreover if the system is applied to a new application, the system has to be made again. Therefore the reconfigurable system can have many advantages according to a need. In the presented paper, the reconfigurable life-log system was developed for life-log service by using embedded system. A system can be comprised of selected apparatus or sensors by users. The users can select the preferring functions and reconfigure the system. We designed of two kinds of wearable life-log systems. The first is belt type wearable life-log system, the second is headband type wearable life-log system for physiological signals. In our developed system, the temperature sensor, accelerometer, illumination sensor, and GPS are used as the apparatus.

      • Development of a Cluster based on Yocto with LXC(Linux Container) in an Embedded Linux System

        The Yocto Project is an open-source framework that provides tools necessary to build customized distributions for embedded systems. Through this, it enables the construction of embedded systems including all components such as cross-compilers, root file systems, bootloaders, kernels, libraries, and applications. LXC (Linux Container) is a project that succeeds OpenVZ, based on principles provided by OpenVZ. It provides operating system-level virtualization, creating multiple isolated Linux virtual environments (VEs) within independent guest machines. These virtual environments can be thought of as containers that can be used to package applications or emulate new machines with their own operating systems. By utilizing Linux cgroups, resources such as CPU, memory, disk I/O, network bandwidth, etc., can be allocated and restricted in LXC containers, efficiently managing host system resources and ensuring necessary resources for each container. Additionally, namespaces provide virtualized environments for each process, including independent file systems, networks, process IDs, etc. Consequently, cgroups and namespaces play vital roles together in implementing container-based virtualization. This paper proposes a cluster system operating within an LXC environment based on Yocto. The aim is to integrate existing standalone cluster systems into In-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. To achieve this, the paper suggests utilizing the meta-virtualization meta layer, which supports Yoctos virtualization technology, to add LXC packages. By creating containers capable of running the cluster through LXC, the paper aims to integrate the previously standalone cluster system.

        데이터베이스를 활용한 센서 데이터 관리

        임베디드 분야에 대한 발전으로 임베디드 시스템을 이용한 각종 장비가 개발되고, 실제 생활에 많은 부분에 서 활용되고 있다. 또한, 무선센서네트워크를 통해 각종 센서로부터 데이터를 수집할 수 있으며, 호스트를 거치지 않 더라도 임베디드 시스템만으로도 수집된 데이터를 실시간으로 보여줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 센서 노드로부터 무선 으로 전송되는 센싱 데이터 관리를 위해 임베디드 시스템에 임베디드 데이터베이스를 설치하여 게이트웨이 역할만을 하는 임베디드 시스템의 기능을 개선한 방안을 제시한다. 즉, 임베디드 시스템에 임베디드 데이터베이스를 설치한 다음 센싱 데이터를 저장 및 관리함으로써 센싱 데이터가 전송될 때마다 게이트웨이를 통한 호스트와 통신하는 전송 횟수를 줄일 수 있으며, 임베디드 시스템에서 필터링 프로그램을 수행하여 보다 정확하고 유효한 데이터만을 호스트 에 전송함으로써 수집된 센싱 데이터에 기반한 분석결과의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있다. All kinds of equipment which used an embedded system is developed, and these are used as to an actual life in developments regarding an embedded field in a lot of sections. Also, we can collect data from all kinds of sensors through wireless sensor networks, look by real time data collected could be brought if only through embedded system. In this paper we present a plan which improve the capabilities of embedded system only act as a gateway by installing embedded database in an embedded system for the sensing data management that was transmitted by radio from sensor nodes. In other words, by installing an embedded database to store and manage data by sensing data can be reduced the transmission frequency to communicate with a host and by performing the filtering program in embedded system and then by transmitting only valid data to the host can be increase the reliability of the analysis results based on data collected.
