미국 초등 사회과의 탐구설계모델(IDM)기반 교수 · 학습자료 분석

본 연구는 탐구설계모델(IDM)을 기반으로 개발된 미국 초등 사회과 교수 · 학습자료를 분석함으로써 우리나라의 교수 · 학습자료 개발에 필요한 시사점을 도출하였다. 탐구설계모델(IDM)은 C3 프레임워크를 토대로 한 자료 개발과 수업 구상에 활용 가능한 설계도이다. 질문, 과업, 자료로 구성된 탐구설계모델(IDM)은 학생의 흥미와 사회과학적 지식을 모두 중시하면서 문해력 신장과 교실 너머의 실천을 추구한다. 탐구설계모델(IDM)에 따라 개발된 미국 초등 사회과 교수 · 학습 자료의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한 자료로 구성된 과업을 통해 핵심 지식과 기능의 습득 및 활용을 도모한다. 둘째, 환경확대법을 탄력적으로 적용한 질문 기반 주제중심 접근으로 사회과의 내용 영역을 통합하며 학습자 흥미를 유발한다. 셋째, 교실 너머의 유익한 행동을 강조하고 실제 사례와 구체적인 실행 방법을 제공한다. 역량 중심 교육을 강조하는 우리나라도 문해력과 맞춤형학습 원리가 반영된 핵심 지식 습득형과 실천 중심의 지식 구성형 과업이 조화를 이룬 한국형 탐구 설계 모델을 개발할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 사회과교육 연구진과 현장 교사가 협업하여 전국 및 지역 단위 자료를 개발하고 축적하는 거버넌스 조직이 뒷받침되어야 한다. This study drew implications necessary for the development of teaching and learning materials in Korea by analyzing elementary social studies toolkits in the United States developed based on the Inquiry Design Model (IDM). The IDM is a blueprint that can be used for material development or lesson planning based on the C3 framework. The IDM is composed of questions, tasks, and data. It focuses on students" interests and social science knowledge while pursuing literacy development and practice beyond the classroom. Characteristics of IDM toolkits are as follows. First, IDM aims to acquire and utilize core knowledge and skills through tasks composed of various materials. Second, it integrates contents areas of social studies and induces learners" interest through a question-based, subject-centered approach that flexibly applies the environmental expansion method. Third, it emphasizes the beneficial behavior beyond the classroom while providing real examples and concrete implementation methods. In Korea, where competency-based education is emphasized, it is necessary to develop a Korean IDM that reflects literacy and customized learning principles in which the core knowledge acquisition type and the practice-oriented knowledge construction type task are harmonized. To this end, a governance organization that develops and accumulates national and regional data through collaboration between social studies education researchers and field teachers must be supported.

2015 개정 초등 5·6학년군 사회과 교과용 도서에 관한 교사의 인식과 활용 실태 분석

이 연구는 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등사회과 5․6학년군 교과용도서에 관한 현장 교사들의 의견을 분석함으로써 향후 교과용 도서 개발에 유의미한 시사점을 찾기 위해 실시되었다. 343명의 서울 지역 초등교사들이 총 33문항의 설문에 참여하여 현행 교과서의 내용, 외형, 구성, 지도서의 내용과 외형, 구성 등에 관한 의견을 제시하였다. 설문 분석 결과, 조사에 참여한 교사들은 현행 사회과 교과서와 지도서가 대체로 양호한 수준이라 평가했다. 사회과 교과서의 경우, 수록된 사진과 삽화, 학생 수준에 적합한 내용 제시 방식과 다양한 코너들에 대한 만족도가 높은 편이었다. 지도서의 경우, 교과서 축쇄본과 함께 수록된 사진이나 삽화에 대한 설명, 학습지 및 평가지를 비롯한 교수․학습 자료와 USB에 담긴 전자저작물 등에 대한 긍정적인 평가가 상대적으로 많았다. 반면, 서책형 교과서의 경우 수업 시간 외 별도의 과제 부여가 필요한 것과 자기 주도적 학습의 지원 정도, 캐릭터의 효용성에 대한 비판적인 의견이 상대적으로 많았다. 또한, 디지털 교과서의 활용도 및 유용성 등에 관한 만족도도 낮은 편이었다. 이 같은 설문 분석 결과를 토대로, 초등사회과의 경우 서책형과 디지털형의 매체별 특성을 고려하여 현장 적용성이 뛰어난 교과용 도서를 개발할 필요가 있다. 또한, 학년군별로 교육 내용과 학생 발달 단계를 고려한 차별화된 교육적 장치가 담긴 교과용 도서를 구안할 필요가 있다. This study was conducted to analyze the opinions of teachers in the field and to extract implications for the 5th and 6th grade elementary social studies curriculum books according to the 2015 revised curriculum. 343 elementary school teachers in Seoul participated in a total of 33 questionnaires and presented their opinions on the contents, appearance, and composition of the current textbook, and the contents, appearance, and composition of the current guidebook. As a result of the survey analysis, teachers who participated in the responses evaluated that the current social studies textbooks and guidebooks were generally satisfactory. In the case of social studies textbooks, satisfaction with the photographs and illustrations included, the content presentation method appropriate to the student level, and various corners was high. In the case of guidebooks, there were relatively many positive evaluations of the description of photographs or illustrations included with the mini textbook, teaching and learning materials including workbooks and evaluation papers, and electronic works contained in USB. On the other hand, in the case of book-type textbooks, there were relatively many critical opinions on the need to assign separate tasks outside of class hours, the degree of support for self-directed learning, and the effectiveness of characters.

통합교육 현장의 소외된 장애학생을 위한 사회과 교수·학습자료 집필 지원 방안 연구

이 연구는 통합교육 현장에 있는 장애학생의 사회과 수업을 위해 개발된 장애학생 통합교육 사회과 교수·학습자료의 집필 과정을 탐색하여 집필 지원 방안을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 집필진들을 심층 면담하고 심의과정을 참여 관찰하여 교재 집필 과정에서 나타나는 현상과 문제점을 심층적으로 탐구하는 질적연구를 실시하였다. 장애학생 통합교육 사회과 교수·학습 자료 집필은 장애학생의 발달 특성을 반영한 성취 기준이 없는 상황에서 사회과 교육내용을 교수 적합화하는 생성적·창조적 연구 과정이자 협력적 집필 과정이다. 그리고 ‘틀 안의 창의성’을 요구하는 집필 구조 속에서 사회과 교육내용의 시각화를 통해 교육목표 달성을 위한 최선의 결과물을 도출하는 과정이다. 그러나 교재 집필 과정에서는 사회과 교육과정의 재해석과 내용 선별·축약에 따른 계열성 확보의 어려움, 차별화된 심의 방식의 부재에 따른 혼란, 장애학생의 수준별 내용 반영과정에 대한 비체계성, 핵심적 시각 자료에 대한 심의 부족 등으로 교과서의 질을 높이기 어려운 문제가 발생한다. 따라서 교재 집필 과정을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해서는 집필진과 심의진의 역량 강화를 위한 사전 연수의 제공, 자문 형태의 심의 확대, 장애학생의 학습 수준에 대한 체계적인 기초 연구 실행, 집필 예산의 확충 및 검정 출판사를 통한 연계 집필 체제 구축이 필요함을 시사하였다.
