        Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate handicapped users’ acceptance of the voice user interface systems. Background: There are many systems operated by voice user interface. Voice user interface is a useful tool to enhance accessibility of elderly people and handicapped people in human computer interaction. However, there are few studies investigating handicapped users’ acceptance of voice user interface. Studies on handicapped users’ acceptance of voice user interface systems are needed to improve the systems for them. Method: We did questionnaire survey analysis with 49 handicapped people, who have used a voice user interface system at least once. Factor analysis was used to find factors affecting handicapped users’ acceptance of the voice user interface systems. Results: Through the reliability analysis with Cronbach’s α, we concluded that our questionnaire survey analysis was reliable and found that all the items of the questionnaire were proper to be used for factor analysis. There were some common factors among questionnaires by KMO and Bartlett’s test. We got 5 common factors, which were Intention to Use/Recommend, Expectancy, Reliability, Usefulness, and Ease of Use. Those 5 factors had all high reliability. Conclusion: By analyzing opinion of participants, the main reason for using the voice user interface systems was their usability. On the other hand, the main reason for not using the voice user interface systems was their reliability. Therefore, it is expected that the design of a voice user interface system to accurately recognize the commands and provide the appropriate results will greatly help the use and recommendation of the voice user interface system of handicapped users. Application: The result of this study can be a guideline to the design of a voice user interface system for handicapped users.

        A Study on the Acceptability for Mobile Payment Platforms by China's Early Elder People

        통계에 따르면 중국 모바일 결제 유저의 규모는 매년 성장 추세를 보이지만 60세 이상 집단에서 모바일 결제의 사용 비율은 아직 절반에도 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 중국 초로(初老) 집단이 모바일 결제 플랫폼에서 일반적으로 낮은 사용률을 나타내는 원인에 대한 탐구를 목적으로 하며, 문헌 연구를 바탕으로 설문조사와 실지 인터뷰를 결합하여 연구한 결과 중국 초로 집단의 모바일 결제 플랫폼 사용에 대한 주요 장애는 수용적 장애라는 사실을 발견하였다. 따라서 유저 체험 연구 방법을 기술 수용 모델(TAM)과 결합하여 새로운 연구 모델을 구축했으며, 이 모델에서 수용적 행동에 영향을 끼치는 5개 가정 요소를 정리 및 귀납하였다. 마지막으로 공분산 분석 방법을 통해 가설 요소를 검증하고 만족도 (SA), 인지된 유용성(PU)과 업무 관련도(JR)의 계수가 각각 0.001, 0.000, 0.004이며, 이는 모두 0.05보다 낮으므로 수용성에 대해 선명한 정(+) 방향의 영향이 있는 것이다. 이외에 인지된 용이성(PE)과 자아 효능감(SE)은 수용성에 대해 정(+) 방향의 영향이 없다는 것을 발견하였다. 최종적으로 유저 체험에 대한 새로운 수용 모델을 구축하여 모바일 결제 플랫폼의 개발 업체와 디자이너들이 수용적 관점에 따른 제품 개발을 위한 이론적 근거를 제공했으며, 이를 통해 더 많은 노인 유저에게 적합한 모바일 결제 방식을 개발하여 모바일 결제에 대한 노인의 수용도를 제고하고자 한다. According to statistics, the number of mobile payment users in China shows an increasing trend year by year. However, less than half of people over 60 years old use mobile payment. The purpose of this study is to explore the reasons for the low usage rate of mobile payment platforms among the elderly in China. Through literature research, questionnaires and interviews, the author found that the main obstacle for the elderly in China to use mobile payment platforms is acceptance barrier. Then, the user experience research method and technology acceptance model (TAM) were combined to construct a new research model and five hypotheses affecting acceptance behavior in the model were summarized. Finally, the Analysis of Covariance(ANCOVA) was used to test the hypotheses and found that satisfaction (SA), perceived usefulness (PU) and job relevance (JR) had significant coefficients of 0.001, 0.000 and 0.004 respectively, all of which were less than 0.05 and therefore had a significant effect on acceptability. The other two elements, perceived ease of use (PE) and self-efficacy (SE), did not have a significant effect on acceptability. Ultimately, a new user experience acceptability model was constructed to provide theoretical support for mobile payment platform developers and designers to develop products from the acceptability perspective, so as to develop more mobile payment methods suitable for elderly users and improve the acceptance of mobile payment by the elderly.

        방문객 유형별 이용객수에 대한 규범적 평가기준, 혼잡지각과 치유경험방해 지각: ‘장성 편백치유의 숲’의 ‘치유필드’를 대상으로

        본 연구는 방문객 유형별로 장성 편백치유의 숲(Jangseong Pyunbaek Healing Forest: JPHF) 내 ‘치유필드’의 이용객 수에 대한 지각(perceived number of users: PNU)과 이용객수에 대한 평가기준(evaluative standards)을 설정, 비교하기 위해 시행되었다. 2017년 9월 중 JPHF 내 ‘치유필드’ 이용객을 대상으로 편의표본추출 방법을 통해 선정된 158명의 표본으로부터 설문지기법을 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 치유필드 방문객 중 휴양객(일반 휴양을 목적으로 한 방문객) 은 49.3%, 치유객(건강 및 치유를 목적으로 한 방문객) 15.3%, 휴치객(휴양과 치유를 동일정도로 추구하는 방문객) 35.3%로 구성되어 있었다. 응답자가 지각하는 치유필드 이용객수는 전체적으로는 평균 23.8명(중앙값: 20.0명)으로 나타났으며, 방문객 유형별 평균범위는 21.1-27.8명(중앙값: 20.0명 동일)으로 조사되었다. 응답자의 PNU는 혼잡지각(perceived crowding: PC)(r=0.23) 및 치유경험 방해 지각(perceived interference of healing experience: PIHE) (r=0.20)과 낮은 상관관계를 나타냈다. 방문객 유형 간에 치유필드 적정이용객수(optimal number of users: ONU)는 차이가 없었다. 전체적으로 적정이용객수는 평균 28.9명(중앙값: 25.0명)으로 나타났으며 방문객 유형별 적정이용객수 범위는 평균 25.4-31.4명(중앙값: 25.0-27.5명)으로 분석되었다. 또한 최대 허용가능 이용 객수(maximum acceptable number of users: MANU)는 전체적으로 38.1명으로 나타났으며, 방문객 유형별로는 휴양객 36.9명, 치유객 32.0명, 휴치객 38.0명으로 각각 조사되었다. 방문객 유형별로는 MANU에 차이가 없었다. 응답자의 PC는 평균 2.73(SD: 3.26, 9점 척도), PIHE는 평균 3.26(SD: 1.77, 9점 척도)으로 나타났으며 방문객 유형별로는 휴치객이 휴양객에 비해 통계적으로 높은 PC와 PIHE를 보였다. PNU가 ONU를 초과한 그룹은 그렇지 않은 그룹에 비해 높은 PC와 PIHE를 나타냈다. 연구결과를 토대로 관리적 관점에서의 시사점을 제시하였으며 본 연구의 한계점과 추후 연구에 대하여 토의하였다. This study was conducted to determine and compare the perceived number of users (PNU) and evaluative standards for each type of visitors to "Healing Field" of Jangseong Pyunbaek Healing Forest (JPHF). Data were collected from 158 samples selected by convenient sampling method from the users of "Healing Field" in JPHF during September 2017. Visitors to "Healing Field" consisted of 49.3% for recreation (VR), 15.3% for healing (VH), and 35.3% for both recreation and healing (VRH). Respondents' average PNU was 23.8 (median: 20.0), and the range of average PNU by visitor type was 21.1-27.8 (median: 20.0). Respondents' PNU showed low correlations with perceived crowding (PC) (r=0.23) and perceived interference of healing experience (PIHE) (r=0.20). There were no differences in the optimal number of users (ONU) of "Healing Field" among the types of visitors. The overall average ONU was 28.9(median: 25.0), and the range of average ONU by types of visitors was 25.4-31.4 (median: 25.0-27.5). The overall maximum acceptable number of users (MANU) was 38.1, and MANU for VR, VH, and VRH was 36.9, 32.0, and 38.0, respectively. Respondents' mean PC was 2.73 (SD: 3.26, 9-point scale) while mean PIHE was 3.26 (SD: 1.77, 9-point scale). The VRH group showed a higher PC and PIHE than the VR group. The group with greater PNU than ONU showed higher PC and PIHE than the other groups. Based on the results, this paper presented some managerial implications, discussed the limitations of the study, and suggested the further studies.

        UTAUT 모델에 기초한 웨어러블 디바이스의 사용자 수용 의도에 관한 연구-스마트 의류를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to analyze factors and relationships that affect users' acceptance intentions by comprehensively considering the characteristics of smart clothing users based on the Integrated Technology Acceptance Theory Model (UTAUT). The significance of the study is to advise on the popularization of smart clothing products towards the market based on the investigation results, and provide theory reference for product design creation, users orientation, corporate promotion and marketing strategy. The survey collected 265 valid questionnaires and empirically analyzed using SPSS and AMOS statistics programs. The research results are as follows. First, performance expectation, effort expectation, price sensing, and fashion sensing were found to influence the acceptance intention of smart clothing users, and the social impact was not found to be the acceptance intention of smart clothing users. Second, the experience of use has a negative control effect. The wearable products currently distributed in the market have a fast generational replacement rate, a short cycle of use, and low brand loyalty, so users are not likely to accept new wearable products. Third, most of the major elements of the UTAUT model have been verified in the empirical analysis, and explain that smart clothing is a new technology product and is somewhat attractive to the user in accordance with the characteristics of the wearable device. Fourth, the performance expectation, effort expectation, price sensing and fashion sensing of smart clothing are receiving universal attention from users. It is important for producers to pay attention to combining the functionality and fashion of the product and to improve it through user experience. In terms of sellers, consumers lack awareness of wearable products. To do this, companies must promote and market their products, and also improve their user experience so that users can find and consume wearable products themselves. 본 연구의 목적은 통합기술수용이론모델 (UTAUT)을 바탕으로 스마트 의류 사용자의 특성을 종합적으로 고려하여 사용자의 수용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요소와 관계를 분석하는 데에 있다. 본 연구의 의의는 연구결과를 토대로 스마트 의류를 시장에 보급하기 위한 제언과 새로운 제품 디자인과 소비자차별화 전략 및 기업 홍보, 마케팅 등에 필요한 이론을 제공하는 것이다. 설문 조사를 통해 265부의유효한 설문지를 수집하고 SPSS와 AMOS 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 실증분석을 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성과 기대, 노력 기대, 가격 감지와 패션 감지는 스마트 의류 사용자의 수용 의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나왔고 사회적 영향은 스마트 의류 사용자의 수용 의도에 미치지 않은 것으로 나왔다. 둘째, 사용 경험은 부(-)의 조절 효과가 있다. 현재 시장에서 유통되고 있는 웨어러블제품은 세대교체 속도가 빠르고 사용주기가 짧으며 브랜드 충성도가 높지 않아 사용자가 웨어러블 신제품 수용 의도가 강하지 않는 것으로 조사 되었다. 셋째, 실증분석에서 UTAUT 모델 주요 요소의 대부분 검증되었으며 스마트 의류가 신기술 제품으로서 웨어러블 디바이스의 특징에 부합하여 사용자에게 어느 정도 매력이 있다는 것을 설명하고 있다. 넷째, 스마트 의류의 성과 기대, 노력 기대, 가격 감지와 패션 감지는 사용자의 보편적인 관심을 받고 있다. 생산 업체는 제품의 기능성과 패션 감을 결합하는 데에 주목하고 사용자 체험을 통해 개선하는 것이 중요하다. 판매자 처지에서 보면 소비자들은웨어러블 제품에 대한 인식이 부족하다. 기업은 이를 위해 제품 홍보와 마케팅을 하고, 또한, 사용자체험을 향상하여, 사용자 스스로 웨어러블 제품을 찾고 소비할 수 있도록 노력해야 한다.

        SNS 특성과 만족도, 수용의도간의 관련성 연구

        Social network services can be defined as an individual web page which enables online, human-relationship building by collecting useful information and sharing it with specific or unspecific people. Recently, as the social network services(SNS) such as Twitter and Facebook have been paid attention in many fields of the society. SNSs are also one of the fastest channels to get news which people may not be able to see on TV or newspaper. The number of people who feel they are benefiting from social network services are increasing dramatically. A number of researches about SNS are underway. The study based on the Technology Acceptance Model empirically investigates the relationship between characteristics of SNS (system, service, information, and emotional) and user satisfaction of SNS. The study also analyzes how the relationshipa between SNS characteristics, satisfaction and user acceptance are moderated by country type of SNS users and inclination toward SNS acceptance. To achieve these research purposes, the study conducted various statistical analyses using questionnaire of the Korean and Chinese SNS users. The results of the study are followings. First, SNS characteristics have a positive effect to the user satisfaction. Second, SNS satisfaction have a positive effect to the user acceptance. Third, the relationship between SNS characteristics and user satisfaction is moderated by the country type of SNS users and inclination toward SNS acceptance. The study results could provide some implications to researchers who have interest in studying SNS, also could help business managers to operate and develop their SNS site more effectively.

      • User preference for an IoT healthcare application for lifestyle disease management

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The current convergence between information and communications technology (ICT) and medical fields reflects a shared vision of seamlessly connected sensors and devices that can improve healthcare services, and an expectation of the emergence of Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare. This study provides a relevant guide for IoT healthcare service developers, from the perspective of the technology user. Particularly, we propose critical factors that will potentially influence users’ acceptance of an IoT lifestyle disease management service. Information on the profession of service providers, task scope, devices, expert support, and a range of shared personal medical data were suggested as important attributes. Conjoint analysis was adopted to estimate the relative importance of proposed attributes and preferences for service specifications. Data and medical history were collected from 435 respondents. The model was analyzed and compared between the groups with different medical histories, respectively. The results showed that potential users, in general, require a safe and trustworthy healthcare service, rather than greater functionality, while medical history has a considerable influence on the perceived importance of the proposed attributes.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A conjoint model for user acceptance of IoT healthcare application was proposed. </LI> <LI> Patients and nonpatients showed remarkable differences in relative importance. </LI> <LI> Factors related to trust and reliability were more critical than functionality. </LI> <LI> Greater functionality of IoT healthcare would not guarantee user acceptance. </LI> <LI> Users’ perception for medical data openness and safeness needs to be improved. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Future Directions of Mobile Learning Based on User Acceptance

        As wireless technology becomes more advanced, mobile devices become more affordable and easier to use. Due to the technological change, mobile learning gets more attention from both researchers and practitioners looking for ways to utilize it in teaching and learning. Although the researches provide very valuable insights into trends and issues of mobile learning, there are few articles that examine user acceptance of mobile learning. In order to adopt and disseminate mobile learning in the field of education, investigating the readiness and intentions of potential learners is crucial. Previous research indicated that little research had been conducted on the factors affecting users’ acceptance of, and intentions for, adopting mobile learning (Liu, Han & Li, 2010; Wang, Wu & Wang, 2009; Wang & Wang, 2010). Hence, this paper aims to identify the directions of initiating and implementing mobile learning. The study attempts to answer the following questions: (1) What kinds of research models are proposed to understand users’ acceptance of, and intentions for using mobile learning? (2) What are the variables in the models investigated? (3) What types of research methods have been employed in each article? (4) What are the research outcomes? Related articles from three reputable academic databases from the beginning of 2000 to December 2013 were retrieved and analyzed. This study would help developers and stakeholders better understand the user acceptance process to support their decision making and planning on mobile learning.

      • Users' attitudes toward service robots in South Korea

        <B>Purpose</B> - The purpose of this paper is to understand users' acceptance of service robots by integrating perceived enjoyment of service robots and users' need to belong in a technology acceptance model (TAM) framework. Service robots are currently being used in homes and firms to provide various services. <B>Design/methodology/approach</B> - The authors conducted a web-based survey from 904 users in South Korea to test a research model and employed structural equation modelling as the analysis method. <B>Findings</B> - This study found that perceived enjoyment and the need to belong played an important role in the perceived ease of use and usefulness of service robots. Furthermore, it was discovered that the research supported relationships proposed by the original TAM with regard to users' attitudes and intentions to use service robots. Therefore, this study provides a framework to understand users' acceptance of service robots. <B>Originality/value</B> - This paper is of value to researchers designing and improving service robots for use in our society.

        User Behavior of Mobile Enterprise Applications

        Organizations have been implementing mobile applications that actually connect to their backend enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, SCM, etc.) in order to increase the enterprise mobility. However, most of the organizations are still struggling to fully satisfy their mobile application users with the enterprise mobility. Even though it has been regarded as the right direction that the traditional enterprise system should move on, the studies on the success model for mobile enterprise applications in user`s acceptance perspective can hardly be found. Thus, this study focused not only to redefine the success of the mobile enterprise application in user`s acceptance persepective, but also to find the impacts of the factors on user`s usage behavior of the mobile enterprise applications. In order to achieve this, we adopted the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2) as a model to figure out the user`s behavior on mobile applications. Among various mobile enterprise applications, this study chose mobile ERP since it is the most representing enterprise applications that many organizations have implemented in their backend. This study found that not all the constructs defined by Davis in TAM2 have a significant influence on user`s behavior of the mobile-ERP applications. However, it is also found that most social influence processes of TAM2 influence user`s perception of the degree of interaction by mobile-ERP applications.

        인공와우 착용 성인의 수용소음레벨 (Acceptable Noise Level, ANL)과 자가보고된 주관적 어려움 측정 연구

        The present study aimed to compare the acceptable noise levels (ANLs) of normal-hearing listeners (N = 10) and cochlear implant (CI, N = 10) users, depending on the target-talker gender and the number of background competing talkers. The profile of hearing disability of CI users was also determined by the Korean-translated speech, spatial, and qualities of hearing scale (K-SSQ) for CI users. Results showed that the ANLs did not significantly differ between CI users and normal-hearing listeners. For both groups, the effect of target-talker gender (male vs. female) was not significant, whereas the number of background competing talkers (1 to 8 talkers) significantly influenced ANL results. The ANLs of both groups significantly increased as the number of competing talkers was reduced. The greatest distraction from noise was observed when the gender of target and background talkers was matched. This suggests that, regardless of listener groups, all the listeners are more annoyed by background noise when the background speech becomes more meaningful or when the voice of target and competing talkers gets similar. Correlational analyses revealed that the ANLs of CI users were significantly related to the K-SSQ responses on the quality of hearing domain, indicating that CI users who accepted more amount of noise actually reported more improvement on sound quality with CI use.
