        모바일 서비스에 기반한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 사용자 수용에 영향을 미치는 요인

        The growth in the use of ubiquitous computing based on mobile services as an enabler to conduct business more effectively has been phenomenal. Technology acceptance model (TAM) has been applied in different contexts to examine a wide range of information technologies (IT). As more and more companies are finding ways to utilize ubiquitous computing based on mobile services, an important issue is to understand what factors will impact the decisions of consumers in adopting the services. Based on TAM with three additional groups of external factors, i.e., service-related factors (ubiquitous access, context awareness) and technology-related factors (perceived security risk, network connectivity) that are theoretically justified as having influence on both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use which are additionally considered, a research model for the investigated technology acceptance was developed and empirically examined, using responses from more than intended users of ubiquitous computing based on mobile services. The specific purposes of this study are as follows. Firstly, this study is to identify service beliefs considering unique characteristics for ubiquitous services such as perceived ubiquitous access and perceived context awareness. Secondly, this study is to investigate network characteristics beliefs such as perceived security and perceived connectivity. Thirdly, this paper investigates the relationship among variables such as ubiquitous characteristics, network characteristics, behavioral beliefs, and intention to use ubiquitous web services. This study uses a structural equation model to test the research model. The major results of this study are as follows. Firstly, ubiquitous access has a influence on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Context awareness has an influence on perceived usefulness. Secondly, User familiarity has an influence on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, and intention to use. User innovativeness has an influence on perceived ease of use. Thirdly, perceived security risk has an influence on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Network connectivity has an influence on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Fourth, there exist differential effects among factors in structural model among information, transaction, and entertainment services.

      • Usability of Ubiquitous Services : A Critical Review of Literature from evaluation of ubiquitous service

        Objective: The aim of this study is to review literatures on the usability of ubiquitous service, and examine whether two approaches-usability and service quality approaches-are sufficient for the evaluation of ubiquitous service. Background: The emergence of ubiquitous technology and subsequent changes in life are bringing about incoming issues in service industry. Just as mobile payment system enabled users to replace annoying cash exchange in return for new problems of privacy and security, so is happening with commercial prevailing of ubiquitous service. It is, therefore, important to put all possible issues into consideration in evaluating a service with new technology, which necessitates inter-disciplinary approaches. Method: Prior to examination, current service concepts of ubiquitous system are observed, and related literatures are reviewed to delineate the attributes of ubiquitous service. Then, collected attributes of ubiquitous service are categorized into 3 perspectives: technology-, service-, and user-oriented attributes. User-oriented attributes are examined if they can be evaluated by typical usability approaches. Similarly, both technology- and service-oriented attributes are examined if they can be evaluated by service-quality approaches. Results: For usability approach, 'invisible' and 'unobtrusive' attributes of ubiquitous service is hard to be captured because typical usability test is dependent upon what user perceives. Also, service quality approach lacks holistic point of view to evaluate the scope of service properly. Conclusion: An analysis of various evaluation methods presents that the evaluation of ubiquitous services should consider the purpose of evaluation, the focus of evaluation and various evaluation techniques for further development. Application: It is expected that the results of this study could provide new direction of evaluation method for ubiquitous service.

        Towards Ubiquitous Robotic Companion: Design and Implementation of Ubiquitous Robotic Service Framework

        In recent years, motivated by the emergence of ubiquitous computing technologies, a new class of networked robots, ubiquitous robots, has been introduced. The Ubiquitous Robotic Companion (URC) is our conceptual vision of ubiquitous service robots that provide users with the services they need, anytime and anywhere in ubiquitous computing environments. To realize the vision of URC, one of the essential requirements for robotic systems is to support ubiquity of services: that is, a robot service must be always available even though there are changes in the service environments. Specifically robotic systems need to be automatically interoperable with sensors and devices in current service environments, rather than statically preprogrammed for them. In this paper, the design and implementation of a semantic-based ubiquitous robotic space(SemanticURS) is presented. SemanticURS enables automated integration of networked robots into ubiquitous computing environments exploiting Semantic Web Services and AIbased planning technologies.

        유비쿼터스 환경에서 위치기반서비스의 활용성 연구

          The purpose of this study is to predict promising Location Based Services under an ubiquitous environment based on their technical characteristics, which is strongly required in rapidly changing circumstances with ubiquitous computing and Broadband Convergence Network (BcN). To begin with, this study proposes a classification scheme of ubiquitous services and defines five technology factors required for ubiquitous services. Next, this study collects a number of ubiquitous services from previous researches and classified them according to the classification scheme of ubiquitous services. And then, technical importance of the collected ubiquitous services are evaluated in terms of technology factors by using service-technology metrics. Finally, a set of important Location Based Services under ubiquitous environments and the correlations between technology factors are identified by using the evaluation results.

        유비쿼터스도시의 최소 품질 보장을 위한 필수적인 유비쿼터스도시서비스 제안에 관한 연구

        2000년대 이후, 정부부처별 유비쿼터스도시사업에 의해 유비쿼터스도시 구축을 전국으로 확산해 나가고 있으나, 근래 들어 유비쿼터스도시에 대한 낮은 체감도가 주요 문제로 대두되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 많은 연구와 정책 과제에서 시민체감형 유비쿼터스서비스를 발굴하려는 시도가 이어지고 있지만, 유비쿼터스도시계획을 수립하는 단계에서 이러한 서비스를 효과적으로 접목하기 위한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이 연구에서는 유비쿼터스도시 계획 수립단계에서 적용할 수 있는 필수적인 유비쿼터스도시서비스를 도출하여 유비쿼터스도시의 최소 품질을 보장할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 163개 시·군 지자체를 대상으로 유비쿼터스도시 추진 현황을 조사하여 U-City의 현주소를 진단하였다. 또한 38명의 U-City 관련 전문가를 대상으로 약 한 달 동안 전문가 설문조사를 실시하여 보편성, 지역경제육성, 사회복지구현, 효과적인 도시관리 관점의 필수적인 14개 유비쿼터스도시서비스를 도출하였다. 마지막으로, 11개 지자체의 유비쿼터스도시계획(안)과 도출된 필수 U-City 서비스를 비교하여 시사점을 도출하였다. Since 2000, ubiquitous cities are spread over Korea by government’s supporting project for ubiquitous city construction. But recently problems such as low perception of ubiquitous city are issued. There is just a few studies about a creation of citizen centric ubiquitous city service even though there have been several studies and policies to overcome such problems. There is not enough research on applying ubiquitous city service effectively at the stage of ubiquitous city plan. To solve this problems, this study ultimately aims to suggest essential ubiquitous city service applied at that stage to guarantee minimum quality of ubiquitous city. The expert survey method was employed to select essential ubiquitous city service. To achieve this goal, First, a survey performed by 163 local government officers to know current status of the ubiquitous city construction project. Second, another survey was performed for about 30 days by 38 experts worked at local public official and ubiquitous city organization to select essential ubiquitous city service. Finally we suggested 14 essential ubiquitous city service from the several viewpoints, which were universality, industry growth, social welfare, effective city management. And we analyzed the differences between ubiquitous city services written 14 ubiquitous city plan and essential ubiquitous city services.

        A Usability Assessment Metric for Ubiquitous Services

        Objective: The main objective of this study is to propose a user-centered assessment metric for ubiquitous services. Background: As the ubiquitous era took off, the interactions between ubiquitous services and users have come to take an important position. It is essential to conceptualize a new assessment model that considers human-system interaction capability with a user-centered design perspective. Method: The evaluation model for the interactivity of ubiquitous service was approached from the concept of usability and inter-personality of services. As a validation study, suggested assessment metric was utilized to evaluate the u-Home service. Priority weighting of each assessment metric was derived using the quantification type-Ⅰ analysis. Results: To evaluate interactivity, this study suggested a quantitative metric for user testing performed after classifying the interactivity characteristics to contextualization; ubiquity; user experience; and service capability. Conclusion: This study suggest the metric for the ubiquitous service that are experienced in real life, and introduced the concept of ubiquitous service interactivity. Application: The suggested evaluation metric can be used to evaluate interactivity level of ubiquitous service and identify the potential problem and usability requirements at the early stage of service development.

        유비쿼터스 서비스 모델의 성과 평가 모형 개발에 관한 연구

        The introduction of a ubiquitous environment has realized commercial ubiquitous services in various industrial fields and government area. The central and/or local governments are demanding an appropriate investment evaluation model for ubiquitous service. Thus, this study develops and suggests an evaluation model for ubiquitous service by reflecting its characteristic of promoting public good, as well as its broad ripple effect on people. The investment evaluation model for ubiquitous service suggested by this study is based on Cost Benefit Analysis Method. Especially, the ‘Benefit’ is analyzed in two aspects; ‘Economic Benefit’, which shows the benefit that ubiquitous service providers to the overall local economy, and; ‘Financial Benefit’, which shows the profit of individual investors participating in the introduction of ubiquitous service. The investment evaluation model for ubiquitous service suggested by this study can be used by the central and/or local government during their evaluation for investment before introducing a ubiquitous service. Also, when introducing a ubiquitous service in public field, the model can be used to support the decision making of private businesses for investment. Finally, it can be used to promote and inform the expected benefits of introducing a ubiquitous service to local residents.

      • A robotic service framework supporting automated integration of ubiquitous sensors and devices

        In recent years, due to the emergence of ubiquitous computing technology, a new class of networked robots called ubiquitous robots has been introduced. The Ubiquitous Robotic Companion (URC) is our conceptual vision of ubiquitous service robots that provides its user with the services the user needs, anytime and anywhere, in the ubiquitous computing environments. There are requirements to be met for the vision of URC. One of the essential requirements is that the robotic systems must support ubiquity of services. This means that a robot service must always be available even though there are changes in the service environment. More specifically, a robotic system needs to be interoperable with sensors and devices in its current service environments automatically, rather than statically pre-programmed for its environment. In this paper, the design and implementation of an infrastructure for URC called Ubiquitous Robotic Service Framework (URSF) is presented. URSF enables automated integration of networked robots in a ubiquitous computing environment by the use of Semantic Web Services Technologies.

        부산국제영화제 관광동기, 만족, 재방문의도에 미치는 영향관계

        As the role of IT technology in tourism industry becomes increasingly important, the user`s behavior for the ubiquitous tourism service should be identified. So in this study, we analyze how the users respond to the ubiquitous tourism service for PIFF(Pusan International Film Festival). We study the interaction among the tourism motives, the satisfaction and the usage intention of the ubiquitous tourism service. Drawing on the data from 195 participants in PIFF who experienced the ubiquitous tourism service, we statistically analyzed these data using factor analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis. The finding shows that there are 1) the significant relationship between tourism motivations and U-PIFF service factor satisfaction, 2) the partial relationship between tourism motivations and U-PIFF information service factor satisfaction, 3) the significant relationship between satisfactions(U-PIFF service factor satisfaction and U-PIFF information service) and revisit intention. This study presents important implications for ubiquitous tourism service as follows. The first implication is that users are more satisfied with static image as the contents than dynamic image because the function as the-state-of-the-art technology of speed and display is limited. Secondly, the data about tourism as ubiquitous service should be simple and timely updated because ubiquitous tourism service is real time service. Thirdly, event markets are appeared prospective for ubiquitous tourism service because event tourists such like U-PIFF participants are more willing to pay for this service than any other tourists.

        유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 로봇 자동화 서비스를 위한 계층적 아키텍처

        In ubiquitous computing environments, users want to receive the robot services regardless of various physical status or devices such as time, place, various sensors, and high-performance servers. Thus, the ubiquitous service robots have to provide users with automated services according to situational information that they properly recognize. Beyond these problems, robot software has to establish a foundation to support the functions with the network infrastructure that are not able to be solved by a single independent resource. On the basis of a robot middleware that is capable of minimizing dependencies among hierarchy structures, the robot software also has to provide execution environment to control the flow of robot application services. In this paper, we propose a layered architecture to provide users with automated services through ubiquitous robots. The proposed architecture is based on CAWL (Context-Aware Workflow Language) and RSEL (Robot Services Execution Language). CAWL easily represents the flow of robot services from user application service levels, and RSEL is able to support the composition and reusability of robot services through abstraction of robot device services. In our experiments, we applied the proposed architecture to an example of “booth guide robot service.”
