      • Characteristics of Polyurethane dispersion for improving DTP printability of Polypropylene fabric

        As the demand for functionality increases in the outdoor advertising (Flex) fabric market, we have developed products with excellent flame retardancy, light weight, and excellent DTP printability. Recently, the printing industry has been conducting environmentally friendly research to reduce the negative recognition which causes environmental pollution. In particular, the paradigm shift to the eco-friendly production production system of the textile and printing industry, such as developing materials that printing without a series of long processes. In order to improve the printability of DTP, a polyurethane dispersion (PUD) was synthesized to improve the printability. FT-IR, DSC, TGA and Printability were evaluated to characterize the synthesized PUD. ** This study was supported by the Industry-Academy Cooperation and Industry Development Project(A development on improvement on the for Flex that has flame retardancy and complex functionality using polyprolylene) 2018.

        도공액 조성변화와 잉크 물성변화가 인쇄품질에 미치는 영향

        In this study, the influence of the physical properties of ink such as ink dispersity and emulsified amount on the printability of a coated paper was investigated with seven kinds of cyan inks. In addition, two kinds of coating formulations were tested to evaluate the effect of coating structure on the coated paper printability. It was found that the cyan ink with 2 ㎛pigment size had the best dispersibility and hence the ink showed a best ink density on the two kinds of coated papers. When the emulsified ink A with IPA 20 wt% had a lower viscosity than emulsified ink B with IPA 10 wt%, the emulsified ink A showed relatively high value of the ink transfer rate in comparison with emulsified ink B. Despite the high value of ink transfer rate, the coated paper did not show a good printability because those inks with low viscosity due to a strong emulsification were easy to make print mottle on the coated paper.

      • 구리 나노잉크의 유변학적 제어에 따른 인쇄성 및 소결특성에 관한 연구

        Currently, there are many ongoing research efforts to utilize printed electronics in commercialization field. Since the quality of electronic devices made by printed electronics technique is highly influenced by the printing quality, printability is one of the most important factor. Therefore, in this work, several Cu nano-inks were fabricated in respect to wt% of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) to investigate the printability. Also, the printed Cu nano-film was sintered using a flash light sintering method with controlling various sintering conditions to analyze correlation between printability and sinterability. The un-sintered and sintered Cu nano-films were characterized using various techniques such as 4-point probe method, 2-D profiler, and scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM). From these results, it was noticeable that the high uniformness of printing and low resistivity of 20.1 μΩ·cm were successfully accomplished about Cu nano-ink of 3 wt% PVP and 4 J/㎠ of flash light sintered (1 pulse, 5 ㎳ pulse duration) case.

        Improving the printability in microscopic level is very important for increasing efficiency of roll-to-roll printed electronic circuit. In this paper, we focus on the rheological properties of ink to improve printability. The shear viscosity, shear modulus and extensional viscosity were measured using Rheometer and Capillary Break-up Extensional Rheometer. And, based on the roll-to-roll printing result with various concentration of silver nanoparitcle , the optimal ink property is suggested by analyzing the effect of ink characteristics on printability. As the concentration of silver nanoparticle increases, the shear and extensional viscosity also increase, and it lead to improved printability. important ideas or contributions emphasized.

        Control and Measurement of Doctoring Angle at Deformed State in Doctoring Apparatus for Printed Electronics

        In printed electronics, the performance of printed devices depends on the quality of the printed patterns, or printability. It depends on the printing ink, the printing equipment, and printing conditions. Therefore, for reliable printed patterns with high printability, the printing conditions should be optimized and then maintained at constant values. Among the various printing conditions, parameters related to the doctoring process are important in gravure printing. In this study, the doctoring angle is redefined by the contact angle between the master plate and the doctor blade at the deformed state rather than the undeformed initial angle. The doctoring apparatus, capable of varying the angle of the doctor blade by controlling the position of the blade at the desired position, is developed. To estimate the doctoring angle in the deformed state without measurement from the photo image, mathematical model that calculates the doctoring angle in the deformed state using only geometric properties are derived. The doctoring angles based on the proposed mathematical model are compared with those measured from direct photo images for verifying the proposed method. In addition, the effect of the doctoring angle on the printability of the printed patterns is examined qualitatively through an experiment.

        자외선 경화형 아크릴계 점착제의 단량체 및 올리고머 함량이 실크 스크린의 인쇄성 및 점착력에 미치는 영향

        자외선 경화형 아크릴계 단량체의 함량을 조절하여 디스플레이 모듈 접합에 사용할 수 있는 점착제를 중합하고 점착 물성 및 실크스크린 인쇄성을 평가하였다. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate(2-EHA)와 아크릴 산(AA) 93:7 비율을 기본처방으로 하여 점착력을 갖도록 하였으며, 기본 처방에 스크린 탈착성 향상을 위한 butyl acrylate(BA), 점착력 향상을 위해 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(2-HEA)와 tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate(THFA)를 각각 추가하였다. 기본처방에서 BA의 함량이 7 phr 이상일 때 타래길이는 급격히 감소하고 점착력은 증가하였다. 2-HEA가 3 phr 이상에서 접촉각은 작아지고 폴리카보네이트(PC)에서의 점착력이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 실크스크린 인쇄 시 직진성과 인쇄퍼짐을 개선하기 위해 THFA를 시럽에 첨가함에 따라 2-HEA가 14 phr의 경우, 점착제의 인쇄성이 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 기본 처방에 BA 7 phr, 2-HEA 3 phr 및 THFA 7 phr를 첨가했을 때 인쇄성이 가장 양호하였다. For application to display module junction, silk screen printing based on UV-curable acrylic adhesive was studied. Monomers were based on 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) and acrylic acid (AA) 93:7, butyl acrylate (BA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (2-HEA) and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate (THFA) added for screen detachability and adhesion, respectively. When the ratio of BA in monomers was added above 7 phr, adhesive was less smeared the screen and spreading length of adhesive decreased, and its adhesion increased. As 2-HEA was added above 3 phr, contact angle decreased and peel strength also decreased on polycarbonate (PC) substrate. When 2-HEA ratio was 14 phr with THFA was added for screen printability include linearity and printing width, the printability of adhesive showed to decrease. As a result, BA 7 phr, 2-HEA 3 phr, and THFA 7 phr with based monomers had good printability.

        스크린 프린팅 기술로 제작된 종이기반 Ag/CNT nanocomposite 스트레인 센서의 인쇄적성

        인쇄전자 기반으로 제작된 종이 기반 스트레인 센서는 다양한 응용 분야가 있으며, 특히 저항 기반 센서는 환경 친화적이며 웨어러블 장치에 사용할 수 있어 천천히 변화하는 변형, 무거운 하중을 받는 구조 또는 극한 이벤트로 인한 예기치 않은 영향을 감지하는데 적합하다. 본 연구에서는 Ag/CNT 스크린 프린팅 공정을 사용하여 GF 20 이상의 종이 기반 스트레인 센서를 제작하였고 인쇄적성에 따른 센서 제작 및 센싱 효과를 체계적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, gap이 0.38에서 0.5 mm로 증가할 경우 선폭이 546 um에서 최대 396 um로 감소함 확인하였고 스퀴지가 스크린 메쉬에 5 mm에서 9 mm로 가까워질수록 패턴 폭은 581에서 721 um로 증가됨을 볼 수 있었다. 또한, 100°C에서 저항값이 352 Ω에서 220°C일 때 100 Ω까지 감소하였는데 이러한 온도 변화는 Ag/CNT의 결합구조에 영향을 미치고 이는 감도 차이를 생성함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 스크린 프린팅 공정으로 종이기반 스트레인 센서 기술 개발을 위한 의미 있는 기본 데이터로 사용될 수 있다고 사료된다. Paper-based strain sensors produced based on printed electronics have a variety of applications for slowly changing deformation, heavy-loaded structures, or extreme events. Especially resistance-based sensors which can be used in wearable devices, are affected by printability. In this study, a strain sensor based on GF 20 or higher was fabricated using the Ag/CNT screen printing process, and the sensor fabrication and sensing effects were systematically analyzed according to its printability. As a result, when the gap between mesh and sbustrate is increased from 0.38 to 0.5 mm, line width decreases from 546 um to a maximum of 396 um. As the confirmed squeegee approaches the screen mesh from 5 mm to 9 mm, the pattern width increases from 581 to 721 um. In addition, it can be seen that the resistance value decreases from 352 Ω to 100 Ω when drying temperature increased from 100°C to 220°C, which is attributed to the bonding structure of Ag/CNTs and creates a sensitivity difference. Through this, it is considered a number of meaningful basic data for the development of paper-based strain sensor technology as a screen printing process.

        실리카-이산화티탄 복합 코팅층의 열적, 화학적 안정성 및 인쇄적성 평가

        As automation systems become more common, there is growing interest in functional labeling systems using organic and inorganic hybrid materials. Especially, the demand for thermally and chemically stable labeling paper that can be used in a high temperature environment above $300^{\circ}C$ and a strong acid and base atmosphere is increasing. In this study, a composite coating solution for the development of labeling paper with excellent thermal and chemical stability is prepared by mixing a silica inorganic binder and titanium dioxide. The silica inorganic binder is synthesized using a sol-gel process and mixed with titanium dioxide to improve whiteness at high-temperature. Adhesion between the polyimide substrate and the coating layer is secured and the surface properties of the coating layer, including the thermal and chemical stability, are investigated in detail. The effects of the coating solution dispersion on the surface properties of the coating layer are also analyzed. Finally, it is confirmed that the developed functional labeling paper showed excellent printability.

        Application of xanthan and locust bean gum mix or sorbitol in the jelly formulation to improved jelly 3D printing using a fused deposition modeling printer

        This study examined the impacts of applying a xanthan and locust bean gum mix or sorbitol to a jelly formulation on the rheological parameters necessary for 3D printing a jelly applying the fused deposition modeling method. A jelly formulation was fortified with a gum mix (xanthan gum:locust bean gum = 0.625:0.375) at 1% (w/w), or added with sorbitol instead of sugar. Both treatments increased the values of storage modulus and yield stress, related to fidelity and shape retention, and adding the gum mix, in particular, increased the gel strength. Applying these treatments to the formulation that lacks the rheological parameters and gel strength required for 3D printing changed those values in a direction fulfilling the material requirements. This research confirmed that the application of xanthan and locust bean gum mix or sorbitol could adjust the properties of materials used in 3D printing for improved printability.

      • 저평량 교과서 본문 용지의 물성과 인쇄 적성에 관한 연구

        최근 국내 제지업계는 제조 원가를 낮추어 가격 경쟁력을 확보함과 동시에, 불투명도, 백색도, 표면 평활도 등의 특성이 우수한 인쇄용지를 제조하여 공급하고자 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다. 이 러한 노력은 원자재 가격 상승에 따른 것으로, 무엇보다 저 평량의 인쇄용지를 사용할 필요가 있다고 생각된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 교과서 본문 용지와 비교하기 위하여 평량을 줄여 생산된 교과 서용 본문 용지에 대한 물성 비교와 더불어 인쇄 적성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 교과서 본문 인쇄 용지의 기존 평량에서 5 g/m2 또는 10 g/m2 정도의 평량을 낮춘 교과서 본문 용지에서 물리적인 특성 및 인쇄물 색상 품질에서 좋은 결과가 나타남을 알 수 있었다. Recently, the domestic paper industry has made a great effort to manufacture and supply printing paper excellent in characteristics such as opacity, whiteness and surface smoothness while lowering the manufacturing cost to secure price competitiveness. These efforts are due to higher raw material prices. Therefore, it is considered necessary to use a low basis weight printing paper. In this study, we compared the existing textbook paper and textbook paper produced by reducing the basis weight about physical properties and printability. We found similar results for the physical properties of the textbook paper and the printability, which were produced by lowering the basis weight by 5 g/m2 or 10 g/m2 on the existing textbook paper.
