        초미세 분쇄한 감국으로부터 추출된 phenolic 화합물의 xanthine oxidase 저해 효과

        본 연구에서 98종의 한약재로부터 인체에 무해한 물과 ethanol을 용매로 이용한 추출물에 대하여 xanthine oxidase (XOase)의 저해에 의한 통풍억제 효과를 측정한 결과 Chrysanthemum indicum L. (83.45%), Cuscuta chinensis (60.22%), Asiasarum sieboldi F. Maekawa (51.66%), Acorus gramineus (67.8%), Aconitum pseudo-laeve var. erectum (75.23%), Thuja orientalis (47.27%), Polygonum aviculare (53.98%), Carthami semen (63.99%), Syzygium aromaticum (40.22%) 등이 비교적 높은 XOase 저해율을 나타내었다. 감국의 경우 물과 ethanol 추출물 모두에서 XOase 저해활성이 가장 높게 측정되어 시료로 선발되었다. 감국의 유효성분을 확인한 결과 단순 고형분보다 고형분에 포함된 phenolic 성분이 XOase 저해 효과에 관여함이 입증되었다. 효율적인 추출을 위한 분쇄조건은 일반분쇄보다는 초미세 분쇄한 시료에서 추출 수율이 높아짐이 확인되었다. 추출된 감국 추출물의 XOase 저해 활성은 ethanol 추출물이 물 추출물에 비해 상대적으로 높은 저해 활성을 나타내었으며, phenolics의 첨가농도가 높아지면서 XOase에 대한 저해 활성은 농도 의존적으로 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 초미세 분쇄 기술은 감국으로부터 XOase 저해 물질의 추출 수율 증가를 목적으로 적용할 수 있는 기술로 개발이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다. In this study, the extracted phenolic compounds from 98 species of oriental herbal medicine were examined for biological activities to be used as functional resources. In particular, the anti-gout effect by xanthine oxidase (XOase) inhibition was determined using water and ethanol as extraction solvents because of their non-toxicity in the human body. The extracts of Chrysanthemum indicum L. (83.45%), Cuscuta chinensis (60.22%), Asiasarum sieboldi F. Maekawa (51.66%), Acorus gramineus (67.8%), Aconitum pseudo-laeve var. erectum (75.23%), Thuja orientalis (47.27%), Polygonum aviculare (53.98%), Carthami semen (63.99%), and Syzygium aromaticum (40.22%) showed relatively high XOase inhibitory activity. Chrysanthemum indicum L. was selected for its high XOase inhibitory activity. The biological compounds in Chrysanthemum indicum L. were identified to contain phenolics included in extracts of solids. Ultrafine grind technology showed a higher extraction yield than normal grind and fine grind technology. Ethanol extracts showed relatively higher XOase inhibitory activity than water extracts. XOase inhibitory activity increased in a dependent manner as phenolic concentration increased. Therefore, ultra- fine grind technology was confirmed for use in increasing the extraction yield of XOase inhibitory compounds from Chrysanthemum indicum L.. Extracts from Chrysanthemum indicum L. are expected to be a useful functional resource for the prevention or treatment of gout.

        Compact Printed Monopole Antenna With Inverted L-shaped Slot for Dual-band Operations

        In this paper, we proposed a compact printed monopole antenna with an inverted L-shaped slot for dual-band operations. Two operating frequency bands are achieved with the use of an inverted L-shaped slot etched on the radiating strip for bandwidth enhancement and a defected ground structure for return loss improvement in the higher frequency band. The measured results show that the proposed antenna has impedance bandwidths (S11< -10 dB) of 270 MHz (1.81–2.08 GHz) and 340 MHz (2.36–2.70 GHz), covering the required bandwidths for PCS (1850.5–1989.5 MHz), CDMA 2000 (1850–1990 MHz), TD-SCDMA (1880–2025 MHz) and 2.4 GHz WLAN (2400–2484 MHz). The measured return loss of the proposed antenna has a good value of approximately 27.2 dB at 2.4 GHz WLAN. The antenna’s peak gains also have a high value of 1.92 dBi at 2 GHz and 2.12 dBi at 2.45 GHz. The proposed antenna shows omnidirectional radiation patterns over the entire frequency range of interest.

        차광정도가 산마늘의 생육 및 엽록소 함량에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 쌈채 및 강장제로 이용되고 있는 산마늘을 조경용 지피식물로 활용하고자 수행하였다. 차광 정도를 30%, 50%, 80%로 처리하여 생육 특성 및 엽록소 함량 등을 조사하였다. 엽수는 처리구별로 유의성이 인정되지 않았으나 엽장과 엽폭은 80% 차광 처리구가 각각 16.8cm, 10.1cm로 무처리구의 13.4cm,7.3cm에 비해 우수하였다. 생체중은 무처리구가 차광처리구에 비해 우수한 것으로 나타났으나 지상부 생체중은 무처기구가 8.5g인데 비해 80% 차광 처리구가 0.4g로 양호하였다. 엽록소 함량은 50% 차광 처리구가 42.8, 80% 차광 처리구가 40.5로 무처리의 36.7에 비해 높았다. 따라서 차광 수준에 따른 산마늘의 생육 특성은 80% 차광 처리구에서 가장 우수하여 음지성 지피식물로서 가치가 있는 것으로 나타났다. The aim of this research was carried out that leafty and tonic vegetable using garlic (Allium victorialis L. var. platyphyllum Makino) makes use of landscape ground-cover plant. Following shading level treatments (30%, 50%, 80%), garlic was cultivated to investigate plant growth characteristic and chlorophyll content. Leaf number of all treatments was unaffected, and 80% shading treatment had grown vigorous growth 16.8 cm leaf length and 10.1 cm leaf width compared to 13.4 cm leaf length and 7.3 cm leaf width for the non-shading treatment. Fresh weight of non-shading treatment was better than those of three shading treatments, however, 80% shading treatment had produced 10.4 g fresh weight of stem part compared to 8.5 g for the for the non-shading treatment. The chlorophyll content of the 50 and 80 shading treatments showed 42.8% and 40.5% respectively. These treatments increased 36.7% chlorophyll content compared to non-shading treatments. Following shading level treatments, growth characteristics of garlic in 80 shading level treatment shows outstanding growth and it is worthy of planting as shading ground-cover plants.

        한국 대학생들의 단기해외어학연수 경험에 대한 근거이론 기반 연구

        The aim of this study is to explore the college students’ experience in a short-term English study abroad context qualitatively. Reflective journals and follow-up interviews of 11 students were analyzed employing the grounded theory approach. According to the successive procedure of open coding and axial coding, a framework of an organizing scheme was established along with the time flow of the students' experience, and finally a core category emerged. The core category, the central phenomena experienced by the students, was postulated as “building social and cultural capital to be a better-suited global citizen and expanding L2 self identity through motivated investment.” It implies that the emergence of the core category depends on the degree of the participants’ “motivated investment” in their learning goal, such as English proficiency improvement and cultural understanding to be more successful in the global community. As a result of the “motivated investment”, “social and cultural capital” was built in the participants in the sense that they gained meaningful social and cultural assets which could be used to form their identity as a global citizen. Furthermore, they expanded or reconstructed their identity with the enhanced or newly-found traits such as initiative, active and challenging attitudes in a study abroad context.

        Blogging and conversing: Community college students’ sharing their experiences in an ESL writing class

        This study used focus group transcripts and blog entries to explore theexperiences of five Korean community college students in a course designed topromote second language (L2) writing development. To provide an in-depth lookat this experience from the learner’s perspective, the author was “embedded” inthis writing course, taking on the role of participant-researcher. Through multiplereadings and coding of data from focus groups and students’ shared blogs, fiverelevant themes emerged from the students’ discourse: internalization;depersonalization; simplification; bonding; and approbation. From considerationof the students’ perspectives on their experiences in the writing class, suggestionsfor improving the experience of Korean and other L2 writing students areproposed, including use of relevant and accessible writing topics. Thecohesiveness established through the discussion activities in the current study mayhave benefited participants’ motivational and strategic adaptation, suggesting thatsuch sharing of experiences could be helpful for L2 writing students.

        EDS 방식 자기부상열차 해석 단순화를 위한 유도전류 추출 방법

        Maglev trains have been studied as a new transportation system to replace existing train systems in terms of speed, stability, and environment. In order to confirm the stability of the maglev train, it is essential to accurately identify the electromagnetic force generated between the bogie and the guideway. However, it is difficult to accurately predict the induction current used in force calculations. In this study, an electrodynamic suspension-type maglev train (L0 series) was selected as a model, and a 3D transient electromagnetic analysis model was constructed to calculate the induced currents generated in the ground coil. Then, a method of estimating the relationship between the relative position and induced current is introduced through parametric studies. The results confirmed that estimating the induced current with a regression model were well matched comparing with analytical results. 자기부상열차는 속도, 안정성, 환경적인 측면에서 기존 열차시스템을 대체하기 위한 새로운 교통 시스템으로 연구되고 있다. 자기부상열차의 주행 중 안정성을 확인하기 위해서는 주 외력인 대차와 가이드웨이 사이에 발생하는 전자기력을 정확하게 규명하는 것이 필수적이다. 하지만 전자기력 계산의 가장 큰 문제점은 정확한 유도전류를 예측하기 어렵다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 상호 반발력을 이용하여 실시간 제어 없이도 초고속 주행에서 안정적인 EDS 방식의 자기부상열차를 모델로 선정하고 지상코일에서 발생하는 유도전류를 계산하기 위한 3D 시간이력 전자기 해석 모델을 구축하였다. 이후 간격 해석을 통해 자기부상열차의 상대위치와 유도전류와의 관계를 확인하고 예측하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그 결과 회귀모델을 통해 예측한 유도전류를 추정하는 것이 해석 결과와 유사함을 확인하였다.

        Design of a High Performance Patch Antenna for GPS Communication Systems

        This paper presents the design of a patch antenna for GPS portable devices. The antenna is designed to operate at L1 band on an FR4 PCB with a thickness of 1.6㎜, a dielectric constant of 3.8 and two metallization layers. The antenna has a dimension of 49㎜×36㎜ and operates at 1.5754㎓ with a return loss of |-36|㏈ and a measured bandwidth of 250㎒.

        서 있는 자세에서 기능성 신발과 운동화의 자세 안정성 비교분석

        The aim of this study is to assess the effects of wearing MBT shoes at standing posture on postural stability. The subjects were 9 males(age: 23.7 ± 2.3 yrs, height: 177.8 ±3 .8 cm, weight: 72.7 ± 7.2 kg) in their 20s who exercise regularly and are in good physical health. Two force plate were used. The ground reaction force data were collected in 2000Hz which were divided by the subjects’ weight. In order to assess the stability, the Anterior-posterior Stability Index(APSI) and Medial-lateral Stability Index(MLSI) were calculated based on the ground reaction force data, and the ranges of the Center of Pressure(COP) X, Y, and the sway of the COPE X, Y were examined based on the COP data. The result shows that the stability examined by the APSI were lower when wearing MBT footwear compared to wearing casual footwear (running shoes) and the ranges of the COPE X, Y and the sway of the COP X, Y were larger.
