        정보시스템 아웃소싱 개발에서 지식 이전이 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        In general, information system outsourcing projects involve collaboration between IT service providers and their customers. Therefore, the success of the development is often determined by knowledge transfer between themselves. While prior studies on knowledge transfer have focused on knowledge transfer from IT service providers to customers, they have neglected the opposite direction of knowledge transfer such as knowledge transfer from customers to IT service providers. Thus, in relation to knowledge transfer between IT service providers and customers, we have considered that dual knowledge transfer will be more influential to improve the performance of IT project rather than one-way knowledge transfer from only IT service providers/vendors which was mentioned by previous research. Therefore, in this study, we have highlighted that knowledge transfer from clients to IT vendors may be more critical to result in better performance of IT projects. The proposed research model was empirically assessed using the survey data collected from 282 IT projects and then tested by PLS Graph. After testing our research model, we have found that there exists the dual knowledge transfer in the IS outsourcing context. It indicates that knowledge transfer from the IT service provider to the client is highly important as found in previous studies. Furthermore, our findings indicate that dual process of knowledge transfer (e.g. from IT vendors to clients and vice versa) seems equally important to improve the results of IT projects. In particular, when certain of IT project are progressed, both management and technical knowledge of IT vendors were important for clients while IT service providers have considered management knowledge as an important factor of knowledge transfer in IT projects for their success. The findings of this study present the following contributions for research and practice. First, the study first examined the dual-knowledge transfer mechanism in IT projects. Our findings have suggested that dual process of knowledge transfer (e.g. from IT vendors to clients and vice versa) may be important to improve the performance of IT projects. In our findings, management and technical knowledge of each project partner have influenced both partners` knowledge transfer except the relation between clients` technical knowledge and knowledge transfer from clients to IT vendors. Second, to verify the impact of dual-knowledge transfer by system characteristics, we have examined the relationship between dual knowledge transfer and IT project performance by collecting system type data from clients as well as IT vendors. Our findings have suggested that knowledge transfer from clients to IT vendors has greater impacts on system implementation in the customized IT development than in the packaged IT. Third, we have also presented trust toward project partners (IT vendors and clients) as a salient factor which affects knowledge transfer between IT vendors and clients. Trust toward IT vendors was particularly important for clients while the effect of IT vendors` trust toward clients was not significant. Finally, our research contributes to the practice of IT projects by describing the factors of dual-knowledge transfer between project partners who need to improve the performance of IT projects and the process by which such transfer are made. Additionally, the research contributes to bridge the gap between the current and previous studies on knowledge transfer. This study is an empirical evidence that demonstrates the relationships between the customers and IT service providers` knowledge transfer in IS outsourcing projects. Furthermore, In our findings, management and technical knowledge of each project partner have influenced both partners` knowledge transfer except the relation between clients` technical knowledge and knowledge transfer from customers to IT service providers.

      • Building a Knowledge Brokering System using Social Network Analysis

        The importance of knowledge is increasing in our global and knowledge-based society. As a part of knowledge management, successful knowledge transfer can improve an organization’s competitive advantages and increase an organization’s valuable knowledge assets. However, knowledge transfer is complex and a lot of factors exist that affect successful knowledge transfer such as context, social networks, and IT/IS. This paper focusses on the role of the knowledge broker which is a link between knowledge seekers and knowledge experts. In this context, this research involved implementing a Knowledge Brokering System, called a K-broker system, as a prototype system to improve knowledge transfer in an organization based on an analysis of users’ social network. The K-broker system can provide a ‘single view’ screen for identifying knowledge experts and has no bottlenecks in contrast with a human knowledge broker. Furthermore, it can provide a permanent communication channel between knowledge seekers and knowledge experts.

      • How to Promote the Capability of IT Service Outsourcing Enterprises : from the View of Knowledge Transfer

        Based on the knowledge resource theory, we know that the nature of enterprise capability is knowledge. But knowledge accumulation of IT service outsourcing enterprises is largely due to knowledge transfer in the outsourcing process, which plays an important role in the promotion of enterprise capability. While knowledge transfer is mainly affected by the sender’s sending ability, receiver's absorption ability, knowledge transfer situation, the characteristics of knowledge and other factors. This article discusses the mechanisms and factors of knowledge transfer, analyzes the knowledge transfer process and effect on the subject of knowledge between the IT service outsourcing enterprises, then adopts system dynamics method to build the evolution model of IT service outsourcing enterprise knowledge transfer, and takes simulation experiments with Vensim tools, finally it proposes the evolution characters and transfer mechanism of knowledge transfer between enterprises. The conclusion can provide some suggestions for IT service outsourcing enterprises and a theoretical basis for the enterprises to develop knowledge transfer strategy.

        일학습병행에서의 지식전이 메커니즘에 관한 탐색적 연구

        Quality vocational education and training depends on how effectively knowledge transfer to apprentices is performed in a given learning environment. In a dual apprenticeship system where on-the-job training in companies and off-the-job training in educational institutions are linked, knowledge transfer goes through a more complex process. The purpose of this study is to find an alternative that can increase the qualitative performance of dual apprenticeships by exploring the mechanism of knowledge transfer through the lens of knowledge transfer. Firstly, by reviewing previous domestic and foreign studies discussing learning and knowledge transfer in the context of vocational training, three key topics for analyzing the attributes of knowledge transfer in dual apprenticeships are identified: i) contextualization and re-contextualization, ii) learner’s reflection, and iii) knowledge integration. Based on this, the determinants of knowledge transfer are derived from the three categories of organizational level, context level, and individual level. By synthesizing the above discussion, a conceptual framework and a knowledge transfer model are presented so as to understand the knowledge transfer mechanism in dual apprenticeships. This knowledge transfer model shows that three main factors affect the knowledge transfer of apprentices: the vocational context consisting of environmental elements in companies, educational context consisting of environmental elements in educational institutions, and knowledge integration of apprentices. Here, the importance of reflection and knowledge integration capability is emphasized so that the knowledge transfer mechanism can operate dynamically and effectively. In other words, knowledge transfer is completed in the process of integrating knowledge and experience through contextualization and reflection by apprentices crossing the boundaries between different learning environments at school and work. This study provides a new perspective to improve the performance of dual apprenticeships, even though it is an exploratory analysis to investigate the mechanism of knowledge transfer in the context of a dual system. At the end of the paper, useful implications are presented to major stakeholders such as companies and educational institutions. 양질의 직업교육훈련은 주어진 학습환경에서 훈련생에게 얼마나 효과적으로 지식전이가 이루어지느냐에 달려있다. 일학습병행과 같이 기업 내 현장훈련과 교육기관에서의 현장 외 교육이 연계된 이원화 시스템에서의 지식전이는 더욱 복잡한 과정을 거치게 된다. 본 연구의 목적은 지식전이라는 렌즈를 통해 일학습병행 학습근로자들의 지식전이 메커니즘을 포착함으로써 일학습병행의 질적 성과를 높일 수 있는 대안을 모색하는데 있다. 우선 직업교육훈련 맥락에서 학습과 지식전이에 대해 논의한 국내외 선행연구를 검토함으로써 이원화 직업교육에서 지식전이의 속성을 분석하기 위한 세 가지의 핵심주제를 파악하였다. 즉 맥락화와 재맥락화, 학습자 성찰, 그리고 지식통합이 그것이다. 이를 토대로 조직 수준, 맥락 수준, 그리고 개인 수준의 세 가지 범주에서 지식전이의 결정요인을 도출하였다. 이러한 논의를 종합하여 학습병행에서의 지식전이 메커니즘을 이해하기 위한 개념적 틀과 지식전이 모델을 제시하였다. 이 지식전이 모델에서는 기업 내 현장훈련의 환경요소로 구성되는 직무적 맥락, 현장 외 이론교육의 환경요소로 구성되는 교육적 맥락, 그리고 학습근로자의 지식통합 등 세 가지의 주된 요인이 학습근로자의 지식전이에 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여준다. 여기에서 지식전이의 메커니즘이 역동적이고 효과적으로 작동되기 위해서는 학습근로자의 자기성찰과 지식통합능력의 중요성이 강조된다. 즉 지식전이는 학습근로자가 학교와 직장의 서로 다른 학습환경의 경계를 넘나들며 맥락화와 성찰을 통해 지식과 경험을 통합하는 과정을 거쳐 완성된다. 본 연구는 일학습병행의 맥락에서 지식전이의 메커니즘을 규명하려는 탐색적 분석임에도 불구하고 이원화된 직업교육 시스템에서 질적 성과를 높일 수 있는 새로운 시각을 제공한다. 끝으로 일학습병행의 주요 이해관계자인 기업과 교육기관에 유용한 시사점을 제시한다.

        개인적 특성이 ERP시스템의 지식이전에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 ERP시스템 구현을 통한 경영성과와 밀접한 관련을 가지는 조직 구성원의 ERP시스템 수용정도를 결정하는 지식이전 정도에 지식제공자와 지식수용자의 특성이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구분석을 위해 종속변수로는 ERP시스템 지식이전을 사용하였고, 독립변수로는 지식수용자인 사원능력(내부동기, 외부동기, 의사소통해석능력, 자기 유능감, 교육 및 훈련)과 지식제공자인 컨설턴트 능력(컨설턴트의 자질, 지식이전 방법 적합성)을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 내부동기와 의사소통해석능력이 유의적인 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 ERP시스템의 지식이전이 원활히 이루어지기 위해서는 사원이 외부적인 요인이 아니라, 자발적인 동기로써 지식이전에 참여하고, 또한 컨설턴트의 설명을 잘 이해할 수 있기 위해 ERP시스템에 대한 사전지식이 있어야 함을 의미하는 것이다. Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems are large, complex integrated software applications that often take years to implement. Significant number of implementations fail. The Primary problem of this study was to examine the factors under which business and technical knowledge is transferred from consultants to clients in the context of ERP implementation. Success of ERP implementation depends on the ability for consultants to transfer business and technical knowledge and for clients to interpret and understand different implications for such knowledge. Transferring Knowledge about ERP implementation from consultant to client is not without it cost. Modifications or enhancements in the ERP Systems are not recommended because they may be subject to reimplementation for each release of the product and clients typically do not have the in-dept knowledge of the system for making the changes. This study based on survey Questionnaire data collected from small-medium sized Korean firms analyzes the cause and effect relationships between knowledge transfer and seven independent variables such as intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, absorptive capacity, self-efficiency, education and training, consultant's ability, and appropriate method of transferring knowledge. The finding suggests that intrinsic motivation, absorptive capacity, and self-efficiency are important predictors to the transfer of knowledge in the context of ERP implementation.

        스포츠팀 성과 향상을 위한 팀 지도자의 지식전달체계에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 선진화된 경영시스템의 핵심인 지식기반이론 도입을 통한 지속적 성장 추구 스포츠팀을 연구대상으로 하였다. 특히, 지식기반이론 도입을 통한 스포츠팀 운영을 통해 성과 향상을 추진하는 스포츠팀의 지식경영 규명과 지식전달체계 및 영향요인 등을 살펴보는데 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 위신란·양오석(2018) 주장처럼 많은 조직들이 성과 향상을 위해 지식경영 활동의 핵심프로세스로 지식공유와 지식수집 및 창출(Krogh et al., 2000; Kogut and Zander, 1992; McElroy, 2003)로 보고 스포츠팀 성과와의 관계를 규명하였다. 또한 지식경영 핵심 프로세스에 영향을 미치는 영향요인도 규명하였다. 본 연구 목적 달성을 위해 선행 연구들에서 이미 신뢰와 타당성이 입증된 측정항목들을 기초항목을 선정하고 경영학 및 스포츠 코치와 스포츠팀 선수 및 대학원생 등을 대상으로 1차 사전 조사를 실시하였다. 이후 스포츠팀을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 지식수집에 영향을 미치는 요인은 인적자산과 시스템자산 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 시스템자산이 인적자산보다 더 높은 유의성을 지니고 있는 것을 보아 지식수집을 위해서는 승진과 보상, 지식수집을 위한 환경조성 등이 더 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 지식공유에 영향을 미치는 요인 또한 인적자산과 시스템자산 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 지식공유를 위해서는 시스템자산보다는 인적자산이 더욱 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 즉 스포츠 팀 리더의 노력 정도가 구성원 개개인에게 미치는 것이 지식공유를 위해서 중요하며, 이를 위한 지도자의 역량 개발과 구성원들간의 협력 및 보상체계가 병행되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 스프츠팀 성과 향상을 위해서는 지식공유와 지식수집이 모두 영향을 미치고 특히 지식공유가 더욱더 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 스포츠 팀의 경우 보수적 특성을 지니고 있어, 구성원 간 지식공유 통해 자신 가치 하락을 우려할 수 있는 문화가 형성되어 있다. 이를 통해 자신의 지식을 친밀도가 높은 구성원들 간 비공식 채널을 활용하여 독점하려는 경향이 발생할 수 있으므로 스포츠팀 조직문화 개선이 필요하다. This research is a sports team that hopes to achieve results through the introduction of knowledge-based theory, an advanced management system. In particular, the purpose was to examine the knowledge management system, knowledge transfer system, and influencing factors of the sports team, which promotes improvement of performance through the operation of knowledge-based sports teams. To this end, the focus was on the relationship between knowledge sharing and knowledge collection and creation, which is a key process of knowledge management activities to improve organizational performance. Factors affecting key processes of knowledge management were also identified. Knowledge-based research has been referred to in order to achieve this research objective. The survey was also conducted on sports teams. The results of this study are as follows. First, factors affecting knowledge collection have been shown to have significant effects on both human and system assets. Second, factors affecting knowledge sharing also showed significant effects on both human and system assets, but it was noted that human assets were more important than system assets for knowledge sharing. Third, we could see that knowledge sharing and knowledge collection both affect the improvement of sports team performance. In particular, we could see that knowledge sharing affects sports team performance more than knowledge gathering.

      • The Methodology for Development of Enterprise Knowledge Management Systems

        In the new century's business, knowledge is a key factor and the business is driven by the knowledge. As the basis of value creation increasingly depends on the leverage of the intangible assets of firms, knowledge management systems (KMS) are emerging as powerful sources of competitive advantage. The knowledge process is also important to re-engineering the business process and knowledge management must be embedded in the process of knowledge workers' everyday practices. This paper introduces the definition of knowledge, knowledge management and the development methodology of enterprise KMS. In the section, the definition of these terminologies is introduced and related issues such as knowledge creation, knowledge transfer, representation and quality are briefly discussed. In the second section, the paper shows about how the management of knowledge in business processes be organized and supported. Finally, one business case, ERNST&YOUNG, is introduces about its' KMS.

        지식이전에 영향을 미치는 조직의 정치성향과 사회네트워크

        본 연구는 사회 정치적 관점에서 조직 내 지식이전에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색함으로써 지식 이전 프로세스를 설명하고자 한다. 지식의 흐름은 다양한 이해관계에 있는 개인과 집단 안에서 발생한다. 따라서 지식 이전 프로세스는 조직 내의 정치적 성향과 다양한 사회적 네트워크에 따라 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구는 사회정치학에서 이용되고 있는 조직 정치 이론과 사회적 네트워크 이론을 이용하여 지식 경영 프로세스에 미치는 영향에 대해서 연구하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구에서는 지식 이전 프로세스에 있어 조직 정치 성향과 사회적 네트워크관계인 내집단과 외집단 강도에 상호 유의한 의미가 있고 사회 네트워크가 지식 이전에 영향을 미치는 것을 실증적으로 발견하였다. 이뿐만 아니라 지식관리시스템이 조직 정치 성향에 따른 내집단 간의 관계 강화라는 부정적 효과를 상쇄하는 조절효과가 있음을 실증적으로 입증하였다. This study explains the knowledge transfer process by exploring the significant factors affecting knowledge transfer within an organization from a socio-political perspective. Knowledge transfer occurs in various social contexts, within individuals and groups, and, thus, is closely linked to inter-organizational politics and social network in an organization. By conceptualizing knowledge as a socio-political process, this paper applies organizational politic theory and social network theory to knowledge management area. Here the paper shows that both organizational politics and social network such as in-group and out-group’s tie strength have a significant effect on knowledge transfer. In addition, the study empirically verifies that knowledge management system has a moderating effect on the in-group’s tie strength and knowledge transfer.

        Social Network Service (SNS) has affected large sections of society. After Web 2.0 appeared, SNS caused a revolution in information flow with explosive diffusion. Many organizations have invested millions in their current Knowledge Management Systems (KMS). However, some limitations to KMS usage exist. Retrieval of optimal information and knowledge from repository systems can be difficult. This leads to avoidance of knowledge sharing and hinders knowledge transfer. This article demonstrates how horizontal communication structure and information diffusion created by SNS can affect the knowledge transfer mechanism. Our case study targets a representative IT-service enterprise in Korea. Our analysis reveals that SNS could provide a complementary technology for knowledge transfer activation because it affects organizational structure and cultural flexibility. However, SNS cannot substitute for KMS. This article provides a theoretical and experiential foundation for future research on the relationship between SNS and knowledge management.

      • Knowledge transfer in work practice: adoption and use of integrated information systems

        <B>Purpose</B> - The purpose of this paper is to focus on the social context of enterprise resource planning (ERP) adoption and use within an organization, emphasizing a knowledge transfer perspective. This framework is investigated in terms of the conflicts and struggles between the best practices embedded in ERP modules and the interactions of users of the ERP system. <B>Design/methodology/approach</B> - A case study using grounded theory is applied with the rich and detailed interview process. This paper shows how to conduct grounded theory and how to interpret the individual level of analysis to organizational level impacts. <B>Findings</B> - This study analyzes how an organization adopts a unique information system provided by enterprise integration and also suggests the likely consequences of knowledge transfer between the organization perspective embedded in ERP and individual apprehension conceptualizing the mode of human interaction and the type of work practice. <B>Research limitations/implications</B> - This is a case study offering rich description of a theoretical framework of knowledge transfer. <B>Practical implications</B> - The results show how to guide organizational members in adoption and use of integrated information systems. <B>Originality/value</B> - This paper contributes to the work practice for knowledge transfer in the case of information systems integration.
