<P>Interlayer exchange coupling (IEC) between the GaMnAs layers in GaMnAs/GaAs:Be multilayer systems has been investigated using magnetotransport experiments. The observation of a stable antiparallel magnetization alignment state from the systems indicates the presence of antiferromagnetic (AFM) IEC between the GaMnAs layers. The transitions between parallel and antiparallel alignments of GaMnAs magnetic layers in the system were carefully investigated by measuring resistance change with increasing temperature under various bias magnetic fields. From the dependence of the transition temperature on bias fields, we have estimated the magnitude of AFM IEC and its temperature behavior of our GaMnAs/GaAs:Be multilayers.</P>

<P>Oscillatory interlayer exchange coupling (IEC) is found in amorphous CoSiB(1.5 nm)/Pt( <TEX>$t_{\rm {Pt}})$</TEX>/CoSiB(1.5 nm) structure as a function of the Pt layer thickness, <TEX>$t_{\rm {Pt}}$</TEX>, which is varied from 1.4 to 3.0 nm. We prepared the samples using dc magnetron sputtering method, and measured anomalous Hall resistance and magnetization hysteresis loops. All the samples show out-of-plane easy axes with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energies. Surprisingly, strong antiferromagnetic IEC is found when <TEX>$t_{\rm {Pt}}=2.2-2.7$</TEX> nm, otherwise they are simple ferromagnets like multilayer systems of Co/Pt and Fe/Pt. The Pt layer is known as near ferromagnet, because it is easily polarized with an adjacent ferromagnetic layer or by a small amount of ferromagnetic impurities. The interlayer coupling via Pt has always been observed to be ferromagnetic so far. We report the antiferromagnetic IEC in amorphous CoSiB/Pt/CoSiB trilayer structure and propose its possible physical origin based on quantum well theory and negative spin polarization of Pt layer.</P>

Dependence of interlayer exchange coupling on antiferromagnetic IrMn thickness, thermal stability, and parallel anisotropy angle in perpendicular anisotropy [CoFe/Pt/CoFe]/IrMn multilayers was investigated. The magnetic property of [CoFe(10 A)/Pt(8 A)/CoFe(10 A)] induced by antiferromagnetic ordering of IrMn layer was maintained a stable perpendicular anisotropy up to 250 ℃ and from 7 A to 160 A of IrMn thickness. The value of interlayer exchange coupling of [CoFe/Pt/CoFe]/IrMn multilayers with perpendicular anisotropy increased to 1.5 times at anisotropy angle of 60° more than of 0°. On the other side, the interlayer exchange coupling at anisotropy angle of 90o was ∞ Oe, it was likely diverted to a parallel shape magnetization.
