      • IPTV2.0 서비스를 위한 네트워킹 기술

        The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication services is being accelerated by broadband networks, digital broadcasting and Web2.0. This paper describes the definition and service characteristics of IPTV as a representative of broadcasting and telecommunication convergence services. Especially, the changes of infrastructure and technology for IPTV2.0 are addressed in terms of the service features of mobility, intelligence and participation. IPTV2.0 shall be characterized by the open IPTV service based on Web2.0 and the mobile IPTV service over the heterogeneous networks employing various wireless/wired access technologies. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Delivery Platform (SDP) technologies are increasingly considered to support the personalization and openness. The mobility management technology is being evolved to provide QoS-guaranteed mobile communication services to users at anytime and anywhere. IPTV2.0 services and platforms are also anticipated to be core components to achieve knowledge-based ubiquitous society. IPTV2.0 contents are required to be integrated with the enhanced metadata to efficiently support search, selection, convergence and delivery of the contents. Moreover, those contents shall be enhanced to provide the scalable services which is adaptable to the network status and user preferences. Therefore, the networking technologies for IPTV2.0 should tightly cooperate with application services and adaptive contents. Those technologies will be developed to construct the ubiquitous content service platform considering the evolution of networks and various converged services.

        사용자와 서비스 세션 이동성 보장을 위한 모바일 IPTV 서비스 플랫폼 개발

        압축 기술의 발전으로 디지털 방송 서비스가 보편화되고 네트워크 기술의 발전으로 IP망을 통한 디지털 방송 콘텐츠 전달기술 개발이 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 그 결과, 국내의 경우 IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) 관련법이 제정되어 올해부터 IPTV 서비스의 상용화가 시작되었다. 특히 IPTV 서비스는 방송과 통신이 융합된 형태로 향후 다양한 방송 서비스를 양방향 데이터 서비스와 융합할 수 있는 기반을 제공한다는 점에서 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 또한, 최근 다양한 형태의 무선접속 기술과 고기능의 모바일 단말이 지속적으로 개발되면서 IPTV의 장점과 Mobile TV의 장점을 가진 Mobile IPTV에 대한 기대도 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이종의 무선 액세스망으로 구성된 차세대 유무선 통합망 환경에서 다양한 컴퓨팅 능력을 가진 단말을 통해 Mobile IPTV 서비스를 제공하기 위해 필요한 요소기술을 살펴보고, RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol) 프로토콜을 이용한 사용자 이동성 및 서비스 세션 이동성을 보장할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 그리고, Mobile IPTV 서비스의 확장성을 보장하기 위해 서비스 게이트웨이 개념을 도입하여 개발한 Mobile IPTV 서비스 플랫폼에 대해서 설명한다. Digital Broadcast Service is being very popular and the delivery mechanism for digital broadcast content through IP network has progressed constantly, due to the advance of video and audio compression and network technologies. From these trends, in Korea, the commercial IPTV service starts in this year after the law related to IPTV is enacted last year. Since IPTV service, which integrates broadcast and communication services, can give an infrastructure for fusion of communication and interactive multimedia data service, IPTV service is attractive. Recently, by the advent of various wireless connection technologies and the mobile devices of high capability, Mobile IPTV, which has an advantage of not only IPTV but also mobile TV, has gained much interest. In this paper, we review a necessary ingredient for Mobile IPTV in the next generation wired/wireless convergence network environment which consists of heterogeneous wireless access networks. In addition, we propose the scheme for user mobility and service session mobility management using RTSP protocol and introduce the service gateway concept to guarantee the extension of IPTV service platform.

        공공서비스 콘텐츠 제공자와 IPTV 플랫폼 사업자간 역할 모델 연구

        IPTV를 비롯한 방통융합 서비스 환경에서는 인터넷 환경과는 다르게 콘텐츠 및 서비스의 전송 을 위해서는 플랫 폼 사업자에 대한 의존도가 매우 높은 것이 현실이지만, 아직까지 표준화나 규격정립이 안되어 있어 현 시점에서 TV 기반 대국민 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 사업자 별 플랫폼 구성에 따라 별도로 방통융합 공공서비스를 개발 ? 제공할 필요가 있으며, 이에 따른 중복투자 및 운영의 비효율성을 피할 수 없는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 향후, 방통융합 서비스 환경이 본격화될 경우를 대비하여 공공서비스 콘텐츠 제공자와 플랫폼 사업자간의 역할을 정의하 고 역할 주체의 서비스 기능 요소를 분석한다. 이를 기반으로 IPTV 환경에서 최적의 공공서비스 구축 및 운영 환 경을 도출하는 것이 가능하다.

        An Architecture for Home-Oriented IPTV Service Platform on Residential Gateway

        In order for end-users in home networks to receive opportunities for useful services that go beyond legacy Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) services, this paper proposes a service platform that resides on the residential gateway (RG) for interworking between the home network and IPTV. This proposed service platform is called the home-oriented IPTV service platform (HISP) on the RG (HISP-RG). The proposed HISP-RG provides open architecture and functionalities to enable 3rd party IPTV service providers to locally and directly deliver home-oriented IPTV services to end-users in home networks. The HISP-RG can be an add-on and not a built-in solution for the existing standard RG. This paper introduces several home-oriented IPTV services that can be executed and delivered locally through the HISP-RG. Then, the open architecture and functionalities of the HISP-RG are defined and their requirements are specified. Finally, use cases of the HISP-RG for home-oriented IPTV services are presented.

        Internet protocol television (IPTV), one of the most emerging services, offers multimedia streaming services with security, reliability, and relevant quality of service (QoS)/quality of experience (QoE). It provides added values to all the involving players and also brings technical and business challenges to them. For IPTV services, we expect to adopt the next generation network (NGN) environment for high quality and the Web technologies for personalization to meet the customer's necessity. Web can provide an open, flexible, and agile platform. Therefore, in this paper, we propose personalized IPTV services based on Web-based open platform in NGN environment and present functional architecture for Web-based personalized IPTV services. Technical issues for deploying the proposed IPTV services using Web are also provided. The objective of this paper is to analyze the critical architectural issues for developing viable and feasible networking platform models for personalized IPTV services.

        N-Screen 방송융합서비스의 모바일 환경에서 보안 위협 연구

        Today, new television service is activated called IPTV. Content delivery method called VOD(Video On Demand) can watch the program which viewers want to watch. And be on the rise N-Screen Service which use same platform and clouding system in multiple terminal. Recently, Smart Phone, Tablet PC and Smart TV is appear, so it is said N-Screen Service is becoming. IT convergence service like IPTV as appear threaten on the original internet, because it is stand on the basis IP network and broadcasting technology. Therefore, security threaten and weak point should be identified for Security mechanism of IT convergence service is correctly applied.

        유료 방송사의 공중 관계성 측정에 관한 연구

        <Objectives> Many studies have evaluated organization-public relationships, focusing on private companies or public institutes. However, few studies have examined organization-public relationships in broadcasting firms, especially for pay multichannel platforms such as cable companies or Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) companies. Thus, the objective of this study was to identify factor scales affecting pay multichannel platforms and determine characteristics associated with these factors. In addition, this study examined factors associated with satisfaction of subscribers or retention of current service. <Methods> A survey of 400 multichannel subscribers was conducted. <Results> Results of this study revealed that the factors such as service innovativeness or relationships to locality were unique scales for measuring multichannel platforms. Results also showed that some factors, especially those of service innovativeness, were strongly associated with satisfaction of subscribers or retention of current service. <Conclusions> Results of this study imply that organization-public relationship is also essential to keeping current subscribers. Other implications for relevant research and marketing strategy for multichannel platforms are also discussed. <배경 및 목적> 본 연구는 최근 유료 방송 사업자 간 가입자 유치를 놓고 경쟁이 치열해지는 상황에서 가입자-유료 방송사의 공중 관계성이 중요하다는 인식하에 유료 방송사의 공중 관계성 구성 요인을 탐색적으로 규명하고자 하였다. <방법> 연구문제를 규명하기 위해 본 연구에서는 유료 방송 플랫폼 가입자 400명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 웹 서베이 전문 조사 기관인 엠브레인에 의뢰해 진행되었으며 실제 플랫폼별 가입 가구의 수와 일치하도록 의도적으로 할당하여 표집하였다. <결과> 먼저 유료 방송사의 공중 관계성을 구성하는 요인으로는 ‘서비스 혁신성’이나‘지역 관계성’과 같은 요인이 유료 방송사의 공중 관계성을 구성하는 차별적인 개념으로 도출되었다. 한편, 유료 방송사의 속성에 따른 공중관계성의 정도를 비교한 결과, 가입 유형별로는 서비스 혁신성, 친숙성, 충성도 측면에서 IPTV가 가장 높았고 지역 관계성은 케이블 SO가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 공중 관계성이 실제 가입 만족도나 가입지속성과 같은 결과 변인에 영향을 미치는지를 규명해 본 결과, 공중 관계성의 구성 요인은 가입을 지속시키는 데 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. <논의 및 결론> 본 연구 결과는 서비스 혁신성이나 지역 관계성, 그리고 친숙성 등은 가입자로 하여금 현 서비스에 대한 만족감을 높이고 더 나아가 지속적으로 가입을 유지할 가능성이 높다는 실무적 함의를 제시하고 있다.
