        초등학교 3학년 사회 교과서에 나타난 설명 담화의 구조 분석

        Purpose: This study aimed to exam the structure of explanatory discourse in social studies textbooks in the third grade of elementary school to present basic data for structure-oriented discourse instruction. Methods: The frequency according to type was analyzed by dividing texts into a single structure and a complex structure. Then, the existence of a structural aspect according to the sub-topics was confirmed. Results: First, in the single structural text, collection accounted for 50% and causality 39.3%; comparative comparison and problem solving rarely appeared. Second, the complex structure showed 61% of collection+causality, 23% of causal+comparison/contrast, 9.5% of collection+comparison/contrast, 4.7% of comparison/contrast+problem solving, and the rest did not appear. Third, the frequency of appearance by sub-topic was 21.8% in geography, 58.6% in history, and 19.5% in general society. In terms of form diversity, history had a high frequency of appearance, but the forms were not diverse; collection and causal structures were shown mainly. However, the general society showed the most diverse forms despite the frequency being low. Conclusions: Both the frequency and form of explanatory statements increased significantly in the second semester. In addition, in both the single structure and the complex structure, the form containing the causal and the collection was the most frequent, while problem-solving was the rarest. The structure that frequently appeared differed depending on the sub-topic. Therefore, the explanatory discourse guidance reflecting these results may help children understand the explanatory discourse. 목적: 초등 3학년 사회 교과서의 설명 담화 구조를 알아봄으로써, 구조 중심 담화 지도를 위한 기초 자료를 제시하는 데 있다. 방법: 담화 유형에 따른 빈도를 단일 구조와 복합 구조로 나누어 분석하였으며, 하위 주제에 따라 나타나는 구조적 양상이 있는지 확인하였다. 결과: 첫째, 단일 구조 텍스트는 빈도 측면에서 수집 구조가 50%, 인과 구조가 39.3%를 차지하였고, 비교 대조 구조와 문제 해결 구조는 드물게 출현하였다. 둘째, 복합 구조에서는 수집+인과가 합쳐진 구조가 61%, 인과+비교/대조가 합쳐진 구조가 23%, 수집+비교/대조가 합쳐진 구조가 9.5%, 비교/대조+문제 해결이 합쳐진 구조가 4.7%를 차지하였으며 나머지는 출현하지 않았다. 셋째, 하위 주제별 설명 담화 출현 빈도는 지리 영역이 21.8%, 역사 영역은 58.6%, 일반 사회 영역은 19.5%로 일정하지 않게 나타났다. 형태의 다양성 측면에서 역사 영역은 설명 담화의 출현 빈도는 높았으나 출현 형태가 다양하지 않고 주로 수집과 인과 구조가 나타났다. 그러나 일반 사회 영역은 출현 빈도는 낮은 데 반해 형태는 세 하위 영역 중 가장 다양하게 나타났다. 결론: 설명 담화의 빈도와 형태 모두 2학기에 확연히 증가하였다. 또한 단일 구조와 복합 구조 모두에서 인과 구조와 수집 구조가 포함된 형태가 가장 빈번했으며 문제 해결 구조가 가장 드물게 출현하였다. 그리고 하위 주제에 따라 자주 출현하는 구조가 다르게 나타났다. 따라서 이러한 결과를 반영한 설명 담화 지도 프로그램이 아동들의 설명 담화의 이해를 도울 수 있을 것이다.

        한국어 문법 교육에서 담화 문법적 접근의 필요성에 대한 고찰

        This dissertation aims at finding the solutions to the question; “As for Korean as a second language, What should the grammar that we have to teach be like?”In this paper, we proposed ‘discourse grammar’ as the answer for that question and tried to make sure that the discourse grammar approach is essential for developing communicative competence in Korean. For this, above all we asserted that grammar teaching in foreign language education should be implemented by means of the grammatical facts which have explanatory power and directly contribute to development of communicative competence. In this regard, the notions and features of discourse grammar-the grammar that we think of having strong explanatory power-were examined. Besides, by checking several grammatical phenomena with salient discourse property, we made clear that the discourse grammar approach is absolutely needed for the contents of grammar teaching in Korean language education to have explanatory power. Lastly, it was referred that not alone building ‘standard discourse data’ but also making comparison and organizing among ‘synonymous grammar expressions’ are needed to raise efficiency of discourse grammar education.

        Investigating Institutional Translation: Tracing the Productional Picture in Translating Institutions

        The present paper seeks to investigate institutional translation by relocating the previous discussions on institutional translation in a more theoretical framework, by explicitating the research parameters involved and by charting the institutional factors that play an important role in the process of producing a target text. This paper also explores the discursive practices of translating institutions and the relationship between the goals, values and ideology of an institution on the one hand and the language and discourse of the institution as manifested in the target text on the other. The result of this study show that specific microtextual profile of a translated text is crucially influenced, constrained and shaped by such factors as the text production process, the goals and ideology of the institution, translation-related roles and translation guidelines. The findings suggest that an institutional approach to investigating translation provides a convincing explanation of why a translated text produced in a institution shows specific features.
