        특수교사의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준 및 관계 분석

        The purpose of this study is searching special education teachers’ level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction and examining relationship between those two conditions. For this, the author took a survey of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction aiming 194 teachers in special-education school and class in Busan and Gyeng-nam province, and the result was analysed through t-test and F-test and correlation analysis. Following beneath are results. First, Compassion fatigue of special education teacher is of average level, but statistically meaningful difference happened among gender. Second, compassion satisfaction level of special education teacher is of average level. Last, in case of correlation between compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction, highly positive relationship was found between traumatic stress and burnout, which belong to sub-factor of secondary compassion fatigue. Meanwhile, highly negative relationship was found between compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction. Thus, for displaying their ability as teacher, researchers put forward opinion of offering educational environment by reducing compassion fatigue having ability to give negative influence to special education teachers while expanding compassion satisfaction having ability to give gratification and positive feeling. 본 연구는 특수교사의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준을 알아보고 이 두 변인간의 관계를 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 부산·경남시에 근무하고 있는 특수학교 교사와 특수학급 교사 194명을 대상으로 공감피로와 공감만족에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였고, 평균차검증(t/F)과 상관 분석을 통해 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 특수교사의 공감피로 수준은 평균 수준이었고, 성별에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 특수교사의 공감만족 수준 역시 평균 수준이었다. 마지막으로, 특수교사의 공감피로와 공감만족 간의 상관관계에서는 공감피로와 하위영역인 이차 외상성 스트레스와 소진이 높은 정적관계를 나타냈으며 공감피로와 공감만족은 높은 부적관계를 나타냈다. 이에 따라 특수교사에게 부정적 영향을 줄 수 있는 공감피로는 줄이고 만족감과 긍정적인 감정을 줄 수 있는 공감만족을 확대하여 교사로서의 역할을 잘 발휘할 수 있도록 교육적 환경을 제공해 줄 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.

        사회복지사의 연민만족과 연민피로에 관한 연구

        사회복지사는 클라이언트의 고통을 공감하고 고통 속에 있는 클라이언트를 걱정하며 그 고통을 덜어 주기 위해 노력한다. 이를 연민(compassion)이라고 하며 연민은 효과적인 사회복지실천을 위한 필수 요소이다. 연민은 사회복지사에게 스트레스와 같은 부정적 결과를 주기도 하고 만족감 같은 긍정적 결 과를 제공하기도 한다. 긍정적 결과를 연민만족, 부정적 결과를 연민피로라고 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 연민만족과 연민피로를 측정하기 위해 개발된 한국어판 ProQOL을 평가한 다음, 사회복지사의 연민만 족도와 연민피로도를 파악하고, 연민만족도와 연민피로도를 조합하여 사회복지사들을 군집으로 분류하 는데 있다. 본 연구에는 수도권에서 활동하는 사회복지사 284명이 참여하였다. 확인적 요인분석 결과 한국어판 ProQOL은 기존 연구결과와 마찬가지로 2요인으로 구성되었고 신뢰도와 타당도 또한 양호하 여 사회복지사의 연민만족과 연민피로를 측정하기에 적합한 도구로 판명되었다. 본 연구에 참여한 사 회복지사의 연민만족도는 보통 이상 수준이었고 연민피로도는 보통 이하 수준이었다. 연령이 상대적으 로 많고 학력이 높고, 경력이 많거나, 또는 직급이 높은 사회복지사의 연민만족도가 높았다. 군집분석 결과, 본 연구에 참여한 사회복지사들은 3개 군집으로 나누어졌다. 군집1은 연민만족은 중간수준이고 연민피로는 가장 낮은 군집이었고, 군집2는 연민만족도는 가장 낮았고 연민피로도는 중간수준이었으 며, 군집3은 연민만족도와 연민피로도 모두 가장 높은 수준이었다. Social workers empathized with clients’distress, feel concerned for clients in distress, and try to reduce their distress. This is called compassion. Compassion is an essential component of social work practice. However, compassion results in both positive results and negative results. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Korean version of ProQOL which was developed to measure compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue of helping professionals, to identify levels of compassion satisfaction/fatigue of the participants, and to divide the participants into clusters by clustering variables which are compassion satisfaction/fatigue. A total of 284 social workers residing in Seoul and Surrounding areas participated in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that the Korea version of ProQOL is composed of compassion satisfaction factor and compassion fatigue factor as reported in a previous study. Its reliability and validity were satisfactory. The level of participants’compassion satisfaction was above moderate and their level of compassion fatigue was below moderate. Those who are older, have graduate education, have more years of work experience, or have higher positions have more compassion satisfaction. Cluster analysis divided the participants into 3 clusters. Cluster 1 is characterized by moderate compassion satisfaction and low compassion fatigue, Cluster 2 is characterized by low compassion satisfaction and moderate compassion fatigue, and Cluster 3 is characterized by high compassion satisfaction and high compassion fatigue.

        범죄피해자 전담경찰관 대상 ProQOL(공감피로 및 공감만족)척도에 대한 신뢰도와 타당도 검증 연구

        Persons, who work professionally to provide assistance for people who are suffering from the sudden disasters or accidents, can experience various kinds of emotional status. Among them, compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction have been recently received attention by the scholars. Those concepts were proposed by Figley(1995). Compassion fatigue can be experienced among professional helpers as a negative emotional status. While the professional helpers assist people with trauma condition, as the symptom of compassion fatigue they can indirectly experience the customer`s hardship as well as go through the burnout status. In the case of compassion satisfaction, it represents an emotional satisfaction experienced by the professional helpers by helping people who went through the tragic incidents. Generally speaking, police officers are known with arresting criminal and preventing crimes as their main duty. So, the compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction are not related to police officers. However, the first responding professional on the crime victimization is a police officer. Also, recently the Korean National Police Agency established the crime-victim support police officer system(victim officers). There are special police officers who support victims of sexual violence. Therefore, those police officers, who specialized in supporting victims of crimes, can be considered professional helpers. The concept of compassion fatigue was introduced very recently in South Korea. Few studies examined the compassion fatigue of nurses and special teachers. In 2016, several studies on the validation and reliability of the ProQOL scale for social welfare professional and mental health professional were published in domestic journals. However, there is no validation and reliability study on the ProQOL for the police officers. The current study examined the validity and reliability of K-ProQOL 5 scale applied to the victim officers. According to the analysis results, Korean ProQOL scale for the police officer was appropriate to measure compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction. Differently from the original 3 factor ProQOL, current study found 2 factor structure was better for the victim officers. Each factor was named as compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction respectively.

        종양병동 간호사의 공감피로 및 공감만족에 따른 우울, 불안, 수면장애

        Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationships between various factors, including compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders among oncology nurses. Methods: A convenience sample of 140 oncology nurses from 3 university hospitals completed questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results: Compassion fatigue is composed of secondary traumatic stress and burnout. The levels of compassion fatigue showed significant positive correlations with depression, anxiety, and sleep disorder. On the other hand, the levels of compassion satisfaction showed significant negative correlations with compassion fatigue, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. The subjects in the at-risk and very distressed group of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction risk profile had significantly higher levels of depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Conclusion: Such efforts will help reduce the level of depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders in oncology nurses at-risk of developing compassion fatigue. It is also necessary to provide organization support for oncology nurses, and to develop an intervention that is designed to mitigate their compassion fatigue and to promote compassion satisfaction.

        자녀의 장애진단 시기에 따른 장애아동 어머니의 공감피로와 공감만족 수준 분석

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction of mothers of children with disabilities according to the moment of diagnosis of disability. 117 mothers of children with disabilities were asked to complete the questionnaires on compassion fatigue and satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed by using ANOVA. The results were as follows. The overall level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction was showed on average level. For the level of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction of mothers of children with disability according to the moment of diagnosis of disability, compassion satisfaction was statistically significant difference in the group that consisted of mothers with children diagnosed with disabilities 3 years ago or more. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of early and systematic support systems for mothers of children with disabilities is crucial to increase their compassion satisfaction and decrease the compassion fatigue.

        아동·청소년복지 종사자의 공감만족과 공감피로(CS-CF)에 미치는 영향요인 연구

        The purpose of this study was to explore factors that affect the compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue of child and adolescent’ workers, For this, the structural equation model was to construct a resilience, communication skills, supervision of child․adolescent’ workers based on compassion satisfaction-compassion fatigue(CS-CF) model. To accomplish the study aim, a survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted with 223 child․adolescent’ workers. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The modified hypothetical model yielded the following: First, χ2=279.039, df=93, CFI=.902, RMSEA=.095 and showed good fit indices. Second, a resilience, communication skills, supervision showed direct effects on compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue. Results of this study suggest that it is important to develop a support program for child․adolescent’ workers in order to improve their compassion satisfaction and ameliorate their compassion fatigue. Also, this study supports the importance of compassion fatigue as a risk factor for social workers counseling traumatized clients and its association with psychological problems. 본 연구는 아동·청소년복지 종사자의 공감만족과 공감피로에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 공감만족-공감피로(CS-CF) 모델을 근거로 아동·청소년복지 종사자의 극복력, 의사소통 기술, 슈퍼비전의 영향력을 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울·경기권, 대전·충남권, 대구·경북권에 재직 중인 223명의 아동·청소년복지 종사자로, 설문조사 실시 후 구조방정식 모형을 통해 검증하였다. 주요 연구결과로는, 첫째, 연구모형의 데이터 적합도 및 변수 간 관련성을 검토한 결과, χ2=279.039, df=93, CFI=.902, RMSEA=.095로 통계학적 허용기준을 충족하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 변수 간 관련성을 살펴보면, 공감만족의 하위요인인 대상자와의 관계 만족은 극복력과 의사소통기술, 지원자로서의 자질 만족은 극복력과 슈퍼비전, 공감피로의 하위요인인 PTSD양상은 슈퍼비전, 대리성 트라우마는 극복력, 의사소통기술, 슈퍼비전이 각각 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 비추어, 아동·청소년복지 종사자의 공감만족과 공감피로를 지원하는 정책적·실천적 대안의 필요성을 제시하였다. 아울러 종사자의 근무환경과 대상자환경 등 보다 다양한 요인을 투입하여 관련변수 간의 인과관계를 명확히 검증하는 후속연구의 방향성에 대하여 제언하였다.

        Effects of Compassion Satisfaction, Compassion Fatigue, Burnout on the Attitude towards Terminal Care among Care Providers in Long- term Care Facilities

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, burnout on the attitude towards terminal care among care providers in long-term care facilities. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, data was collected from 126 care providers in long-term care facilities in Chungbuk and Kangwon province. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression. Findings of this study is as follows. Firstly, attitude towards terminal care was positively affected by compassion satisfaction. Secondly, the attitude towards terminal care was negatively affected by compassion fatigue. Thirdly, the attitude towards terminal care was negatively affected by burnout. In conclusion, these findings provide strong empirical evidence for the importance of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction and burnout in explaining attitude towards terminal care among care providers in long-term care facilities. Therefore, strategies to decrease compassion fatigue and burnout and improve compassion satisfaction are needed to improve the attitude towards terminal care among care providers in long-term care facilities.

        요양보호사의 직무 스트레스, 공감 능력, 사회적 지지가 공감피로에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 장기요양기관에 근무하는 요양보호사의 공감 피로, 공감 능력, 직무 스트레스 및 사회적 지지 정도를 파악하고 공감피로에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하고자 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 요양보호사 자격증을 취득하고 노인 장기 요양기관에 근무하는 요양보호사 110명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 도구는 이은희(2004)의 직무 스트레스 도구, 박성희(1997)가 번안한 한글판 IRI, 박복식 (2013)의 사회적 지지 도구, ProQOLS : Compassion satisfaction/fatigue subscale version 5 (Korean)를 사용하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 통계 프로그램을 이용해 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, 다중 회귀 분석을 하였다. 연구결과 나이, 종교, 근무 경력, 고용 형태에 따라 공감 피로에 유의한 차이가 있었으며 상관관계 분석 시 직무 스트레스 (r=45, p<.001)와 공감(r=.50, p<.001)이 공감 피로와 유의한 상관성을 보였다. 공감 피로에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 직무 스트레스, 공감, 근무형태가 통계적으로 유의한 영향요인으로 나타났으며 공감 피로를 55% (F=23.37, p<.001) 설명하였다. 따라서 요양보호사의 인적자원관리 시 공감피로 및 공감피로와 상관성이 높은 변수들을 고려하여야 할 것이다. This study was conducted to understand job stress, empathy and social support of care helpers working at longterm care facilities and analyze how they affect to compassion fatigue. The study participants were 110 care helpers who has care helper certificate working at longterm care facilities. Lee Eun-Hee (2004)`s job stress tool, Korean version IRI, which was translated by Park Sung-Hee(1997), Park Bok-Sik(2013)`s social support tool, and the ProQOLS : Compassion satisfaction/fatigue subscale version 5 (Korean) were used as the survey instruments and analysis included descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, multiple regression using SPSS 20.0. As a result of the study, there were significant differences in compassion fatigue according to age, religion, length of career, type of employment. Job stress (r=45, p<.001) and empathy (r=50, p<.001) showed a significant correlation with compassion fatigue. As a result of multiple regression analysis to identify factors influencing compassion fatigue, job stress, empathy and type of employment were shown as significant predictors (55%) of compassion fatigue (F=23.37, p<.001). Therefore, variables highly correlated with compassion fatigue should be considered when managing care helper human resources.

      • 종합병원 간호사의 공감피로와 소진과의 관련성

        Purpose. The purposed of this study was done to identify correlates and variables predicting burnout among hospital nurses. Methods. The participants were 172 nurses working in hospital nurses in D and P, K cities. Data on compassion fatigue and burnout were collected via questionnaire between May 2011 and July 2011. Data analysis was done with PASW 18.0 program and included one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Result. Compassion fatigue of participants in this study were shown to have high levels (compassion fatigue: M=58.34/115, SD=12.85). Burnout of participants in this study were shown to have poor levels (burnout: M=30.73/85, SD=6.84). The burnout by nurses was positively to compassion fatigue(r=.482, p<.000). The variables predicting burnout were compassion fatigue, total period of nursing job, nursing part and job period of present part. These factors accounted for 31%((F=20.39, p<.000) of the variance of burnout in hospital nurses. Conclusion. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to reduce compassion fatigue and to encourage compassion satisfaction among hospital nurses.

        종양간호사의 공감, 자아탄력성, 자기관리가 공감피로에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of empathy, resilience and self-care on compassion fatigue in oncology nurses. Methods: The study design was a descriptive survey and questionnaires were collected from December 1 to 15, 2013. Participants were 171 oncology nurses caring for cancer patients. Data was analyzed using independent t-test, Scheffe test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: Seventy two percent of the participants reported a moderate to high level of compassion fatigue. Empathy was positively correlated with compassion fatigue, whereas, resilience and self-care had negative correlations with compassion fatigue. Finally, empathy, resilience, self-care and age accounted for 30% of the variance in compassion fatigue. Conclusion: Results indicate that empathy, resilience and self-care are factors influencing compassion fatigue. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and make available programs embracing personal factors in the prevention and reduction of compassion fatigue.
