고령화 현상속에서의 기독교노인복지 상담의 필요성과 가능성

The growing population of adults over the age of 65 continues to outstrip our provision of services. The purpose of the study is to analyze the perception of socialworkers at welfare facilities for the Older Adult and other workers regarding the organization, management, and personnel of each senior facilitated to provide basic resources for the improvement and establishment of efficient welfare policies for the Older Adult. Welfare for the aged approach in the field of counseling and gain strength in various field. But there in no official report this applied in elderly counseling. This thesis endeavored to apply welfare for the aged approach to the elderly.

고령사회 속 기독교 노인복지의 화두 - “안티 에이징과 웰 에이징”을 대하는 기독교 윤리적 시선

The purpose of this study is to examine the Christian ethical meaning and the practice of ‘aging’ in the Christian social welfare field. Social discourse and ethical support for aging in aged society are necessary. Whether longevity and aging society is a blessing or disaster depends on how individuals and society view aging and old age. At present, our society has a strong negative perception toward aging, so-called ‘anti-aging’. As a result, in the social welfare field, programs for the elderly mainly focus on preventing or overcoming aging rather than successfully aging. Such negative attitudes as anxiety, fear of aging and death may amplify the sense of loss for the present life and cause moral problems by creating distortions and attachments to life. Whereas, the Bible describes the process of aging as a process in the providence of creation order, and the old age is seen as a blessing, not as decline or loss, but as a time when God’s grace is given. Based on the biblical understanding of aging, this study aims to provide a viewpoint to overcome the old stereotypes and misinformation about aging while respecting the culture and trends of modern society. Furthermore, this study discussed ways to promote positive generational exchanges. Based on the results of the research, we presented a practical alternative to Christian social welfare for the elderly and church service. 본 연구는 고령사회를 맞이한 기독교사회복지 실천현장에서 ‘늙어감’에 대한기독교 윤리적 의미와 실천방안에 대해 살펴보았다. 고령사회와 100세 시대를맞아 aging(늙어감)에 대한 사회적 담론과 윤리적 뒷받침이 필요하다. 장수와고령사회가 축복인가 재앙인가는 개인과 사회가 늙어감(노화과정)과 노년을 어떠한 관점으로 바라보는가에 달려 있기 때문이다. 현재 우리 사회 전반적으로는‘안티 에이징(anti-aging)’, 즉 늙어감에 대한 부정적인 인식이 강하다. 그 결과사회복지분야에서도 노인을 대상으로 한 프로그램들이 주로 노화예방이나 극복에 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 이 같은 늙음과 죽음에 대한 불안과 공포 등 부정적 태도는 현재의 삶에 대한 상실감을 증폭시키고 삶에 대한 왜곡과 집착을 낳아 도덕적문제를 야기할 수도 있다. 반면, 웰 에이징(well-aging)은 단순히 안티에이징과같이 육체적 노화 혹은 늙어감에 대한 거부가 아니라 늙어가는 것 그 자체를 수용하면서 노년의 시기를 긍정적인 자기 변화의 시간으로 받아들이려는 삶의 양식과태도를 의미한다. 성경은 노화의 과정을 창조질서의 섭리 안에서 진행되는 과정이며 노년기는 쇠퇴나 상실이 아닌 하나님의 은총이 주어지는 시기로 보며 축복으로 묘사하고 있다. 본 연구는 노화에 대한 성경적 이해에 근거하여 현대사회의문화를 존중하는 동시에 늙어감에 대한 구시대적인 고정관념과 잘못된 정보를극복할 수 있는 관점을 제시하고, 더 나아가 노인뿐만 아니라 세대 간의 편견과갈등을 해소하고 긍정적인 세대교류를 촉진할 수 있는 방안을 살펴보았다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 노인을 위한 기독교사회복지와 교회의 사회봉사에 정책적·실천적 대안을 제시했다.
