        정보검색 서비스에 관한 저작권법적 고찰

        The information retrieval service which becomes accomplished at the Internet is for the user, to inform the approach point against information which is opened to the public role. Retrieval service as the business model where the technology and the process which are various are demanded. Retrieval service hazard stands and information which is opened to the public first in order about under collecting about under processing the retrieval search which will reach to be easy, the indexing technology which it does is necessary. Information craweling of the others with the dispute was under occurring from this process. And, it followed in character of information and the slander problem which stands or online service provider as portal business owners became problem. The thumbnail retrieval service, which OSP provides it appears and is becoming representative instance of copyright dispute or the Internet relation dispute. The retrieval service is accomplishing a social role or a public achievement role, but the result which it does not intend. Namely, the information retrieval service even from the business model which is important seeks information from position of the user, with the service tool it will be able to use role but with copyright dispute is same and it is in order to bring the problem which is newly. Consequently, information retrieval leads solution or arrangement of the problem which becomes accomplished only without the user will not be able to drift from the ocean of information which is enormous it is the Internet. So, this article researches the legal nature of retrieval service which provides search business owner and the issues in context of copyright for the promotion of information culture and information use from information retrieval.

        How Query by humming, a Music Information Retrieval System, is Being Used in the Music Education Classroom

        This study does a qualitative and quantitative analysis of how music by humming is being used by music educators in the classroom. Music by humming is part division of music information retrieval. In order to define what a music information retrieval system is first I need to define what it is. Berger and Lafferty (1999) define information retrieval as "someone doing a query to a retrieval system, a user begins with an information need. This need is an ideal document- perfect fit for the user, but almost certainly not present in the retrieval system's collection of documents. From this ideal document, the user selects a group of identifying terms. In the context of traditional IR, one could view this group of terms as akin to expanded query." Music Information Retrieval has its background in information systems, data mining, intelligent systems, library science, music history and music theory. Three rounds of surveys using question pro where completed. The study found that there were variances in knowledge, training and level of awareness of query by humming, music information retrieval systems. Those variance relationships where based on music specialty, level that they teach, and age of the respondents.

        Vascoda와 Sowiport는 독일 과학포털 시스템이다. Vascoda는 42개 독일 도서관 및 정보제공기관을 하나의 등록된 연합체로 구성하여 다양한 분야의 데이터를 범 학문적으로 연계하여 정보 서비스를 하는 목적으로 한다.Sowiport는 사회과학 전문 포털서비스를 제공한다. 사회과학프로젝트, 저널, 행사를 포함하는 다양한 기관의 18개 데이터베이스로 구성되었으며, 싱글 질의어를 가지고 모든 데이터베이스에 대한 연계 검색이 가능하다. 다양한 기관이 독립적으로 운영하는 이기종, 분산형 데이테베이스 및 다양한 과학 및 사회과학 분야의 데이터베이스를 사용자의 단순 질어어를 지능적으로 연계하여 서비스한다. 이를 위하여 쉘모델, 온톨로지와 같은 시맨틱 웹 기술, 웹정보검색 기술들이 활용되었다. VASCODA (www.vascoda.de) is today the most important tool to achieving a new innovative infrastructure in the field of scientific information in Germany. All important information providers of scientific information (information centers and libraries) work together to integrate the largely distributed collections of scientific information in Germany and beyond. The aim is to integrate high-quality information from the deep and from the visible Web by using search engine technology (FAST and Lucene) and new concepts to integrate the data, not only technically, but to solve the problem of semantic heterogeneity at a high level of quality. The middle of the 1990s are coined by the increased enthusiasm for the possibilities of the WWW, which has only recently deviated – at least in relation to scientific information – for the differentiated measuring of its advantages and disadvantages. Web information retrieval originated as a specialized discipline with great commercial significance. Another line of thought has only recently gained momentum. With Google Scholar it is becoming clear that the sciences are no longer just being seen as a windfall gain of a commercially rather uninteresting group of specialists. In this context it’s also to be expected that a scientific approach – namely that of the Semantic Web on the basis of ontologies – will be included in the discussion of its practical uses. It’s development began a decade ago with a critical counter-position to the weak structuring of the Web and the mostly lacking consideration of semantic information. The criticisms of the ontological approaches can be grouped with the likewise 90s-originated approach of the shell model, which called for a restructuring and new research approaches for digital libraries and specialized information providers. This was and is currently being implemented with the ”treatment of semantic heterogeneity“ in the science portal vascoda and in the social science portal sowiport. The shell model argued from the viewpoint of the “Invisible Web,” which would open itself to the ”Visible Web,” not vice versa like the semantic web. The fact that the paradigm of homogenization through standardization would be at least partially sacrificed or that it could be complemented through an intelligent heterogeneous treatment procedure, was the actual challenge. This will be pursued in the following, limited to the domain specific information needs of scientists. In doing so, this will not deal with the technological background, technical protocols, syntactic standards or structural metadata standards such as Dublin Core. All these aspects may cause problems in practice, but we know how to solve them. The situation is completely different with respect to the semantic foundation of Web Retrieval and the semantic heterogeneity of different information collections in today’s landscape of polycentric information providing. Therefore the focus will be on the vascoda-solution of this problem. Conceptually, the science portal vascoda is built upon two building blocks: a governing science portal and the relatively independent-acting specialist portals of every academic subject. The construction of an academic portal, using sowiport (social sciences) as an example, can be viewed as a process on many levels: The process integrates national and international information of different types and offers them prepared for retrieval. At the same time, the connection to publication and discourse activities is established, which the search portals expand to communication platforms. In the long-term, this should lead to new forms and a new quality of scientific working.

      • 정보 특성 시각화를 이용한 검색 시스템 설계

        정보 특성 시각화는 방대한 인터넷 정보로부터 사용자가 원하는 정보에 대한 이해도를 높임으로써 정보 검색 시 요구되는 시간과 노력을 감소시키며, 웹 환경을 이용하는 전자 도서관 시스템과의 통합 관점에서 볼 때, 도서 정보 및 통계 자료에 대한 시각화를 지원함으로써 검색 과정 중에 정보에 관련된 동향을 파악하는데 유용하게 사용된다. 최근 전자 도서관 시스템에서 정보 시각화에 관한 관심이 증가하면서 주로 선진국을 중심으로 여러 가지 시각화 기법에 대한 연구와 이를 적용한 검색 시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 정보의 특성을 체계적이면서 시각적으로 표현하기 위해, 정보 시각화의 구성 요소를 획일화하고 검색 기법을 새롭게 차원화 하는 패러다임을 제시하고, 사용자가 보다 쉽게 정보를 항해하고 정보에 대한 이해도를 향상시키기 위한 검색 도구를 개발함으로서 검색 정보에 대한 사용자 이해도의 향상 및 효율적인 검색을 할 수 있다. Information Feature Visualization reduces the time and effort from searching for requested information by promoting apprehension from the wide internet information seen from the point of view in digital library system and by supporting the visualization of books information and statistics materials. It's usefully used to catch hold of a tendency regarding information over the search process. Recently, increasing interest in the information visualization in the library system, many researchers are developing research about various visualization technology and searching system. So, to describe systematically and visually the feature of information, We'll make the element of information visualization uniform and suggest paradigm renewing retrieval technology by developing search tool to improve apprehension about information and navigate more easily among information. We can improve user's apprehension about search information and search more usefully.

      • A Hyperlink-Extended Language Model for Microblog Retrieval

        Microblog retrieval has received much attention in recent years. In microblog retrieval, the content linked by URLs is one of the most important information of a microblog. We present a Hyperlink-extended model for microblog retrieval that combines content of microblogs and the content of embedded hyperlinks webpages using a probabilistic ranking function based on language model. Hyperlink-extended language model incorporates the users' information retrieval requirements and the microblog author’s expression needs. Using standard TREC 2011 and TREC 2012 microblog retrieval collection, various aspects of our microblog retrieval model are evaluated. Results show our model significantly outperform the art-of-the-state URL-based approaches and the best performance of TREC 2012 microblog retrieval.

        User Perceptions of Uncertainty in the Selection of Information Retrieval System:Implications for System and Service Improvement

        While numerous studies have suggested the significance of uncertainty during the process of information-seeking, less research has investigated user uncertainty in the actual search process using a real system. This study investigated user perceptions of uncertainty in the process of the selection of information retrieval system in the real information-seeking process. Considering the role of commercial Web search engines as supplementary tools for traditional bibliographic databases in academic research environments, this study analyzed the selection behavior of scholarly researchers, who use such search tools for their academic study. The researchers were limited to the discipline of science in order to understand user perceptions in this field. The findings revealed various dimensions, types, and incidents of uncertainty. Variations appeared in different incidents of uncertainty relating to the unique characteristics of the subjects’ information-seeking context. The identification of three principal origins of uncertainty based on the different types of uncertainty generated implications to improve information systems and services.

        인터넷의 발달과 함께 정보의 가용성이 급격히 증가하면서 기존의 정보 검색 서비스는 사용자 작업 성능 측면에서 비효율성이 나타나고 있다. 또한, 서비스 결과에 대한 신뢰성을 확보하기 위한 고려도 필요한데, 본 연구는 이러한 이슈들을 정보 검색에서 정보 분석으로 이동하는 패러다임의 변화 관점에서 살펴보고 테크놀로지 인텔리전스 서비스에의 적용을 통해 설명하고자 한다. 구체적으로 정보 분석 기능을 강화하고 신뢰성을 높이기 위하여 개체 간 관계 추적 기술과 추론 검증 기술을 적용함으로써 이 기술들이 테크놀로지 인텔리전스 서비스인 InSciTe에서 어떠한 역할과 중요성을 가지는지 살펴본다. 향후 효용성 평가를 통하여 정보 가치 향상관점에서의 검증을 수행할 예정이다. As accessible information increases with rapid growth of the internet, existing information retrieval service gets ineffective of users' information needs. This paper presents a paradigm shift from information management and retrieval to information analysis in an effort to reduce inefficiency and improve reliability of information. Especially, we discuss technologies such as relation finding and inference verification proposed as a way to strengthen the function of information analysis and to ensure reliability and accuracy of information. In addition, we explain several roles of these technologies as service components of InSciTe, a technology intelligence system, and we plan to evaluate whether these technologies can enhance the value of information through user test.

      • An Approach for Optimizing Library Digital Resource Based on Semantic Information Retrieval

        In order to enrich and improve the collection of library digital information resources, this paper puts forward an optimization method of library digital resources based on semantic information retrieval. The method collects related information automatically from the Internet using semantic information retrieval, and selects the relevance value meeting the preset threshold of the network information to expand and update library digital resources. The experiment result shows that these methods gets a good expectant performance and dramatically optimize the library digital resources and improve the efficiency of resource retrieval and utilization.

        Interactive Information Retrieval: An Introduction

        The paper introduces the research area of interactive information retrieval (IIR) from a historical point of view. Further, the focus here is on evaluation, because much research in IR deals with IR evaluation methodology due to the core research interest in IR performance, system interaction and satisfaction with retrieved information. In order to position IIR evaluation, the Cranfield model and the series of tests that led to the Cranfield model are outlined. Three iconic user-oriented studies and projects that all have contributed to how IIR is perceived and understood today are presented: The MEDLARS test, the Book House fiction retrieval system, and the OKAPI project. On this basis the call for alternative IIR evaluation approaches motivated by the three revolutions (the cognitive, the relevance, and the interactive revolutions) put forward by Robertson & Hancock-Beaulieu (1992) is presented. As a response to this call the 'IIR evaluation model' by Borlund (e.g., 2003a) is introduced. The objective of the IIR evaluation model is to facilitate IIR evaluation as close as possible to actual information searching and IR processes, though still in a relatively controlled evaluation environment, in which the test instrument of a simulated work task situation plays a central part.
