이 연구의 목적은 Bollnow의 교육적 분위기란 무엇이며, 이러한 교육적 분위기가 지니는 교육적 의의가 무엇인지를 밝히는데 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 먼저 Bollnow의 교육 적 분위기의 사상적 전통과 의미를 고찰하고, 교육적 분위기의 특징이라고 할 수 있는 그 양면성을 아동의 측면과 교육자의 측면으로 구분하여 살펴본 다음, 이러한 분위기가 지니고 있는 교육적 의의가 무엇인지를 밝히고자 하였다. Bollnow는 교육적 분위기에 대한 주장을 통해 교육을 아동과 교사의 존재와 삶에 관련되는 교육적 관계와 기분에 주목하여 고찰함으로써, 교육현상에 대한 구체적, 본질적 접근을 시도 하였다. 또한 교육실제에서 교육자의 기분뿐만 아니라 아동의 기분과 태도를 중시하여 아동 을 교육의 주체로 인정하고, 아동의 내면에 교육적 의지가 존재하며, 아동이 교육받고 싶어 하는 존재임을 인정하여 아동을 새로운 교육적 지평에서 이해하였다. 이런 맥락에서 교육적 분위기는 단순히 교육에 영향을 미치는 부가적인 요소가 아니라 교육 의 성립과 성공적인 교육 실현을 위해 필수불가결한 요소임을 알 수 있다. 특히 교육자와 아동의 관계와 그러한 관계에서 기인하는 기분을 핵심 요소로 하는 Bollnow의 교육적 분위기는 갈등과 불신의 분위기가 만연해 있는 한국 교육 현실에 바람직한 교육적 분위기 조성 의 필요성과 그 방향을 제시해 준다는 점에서 교육적으로 의의가 있다. Purpose of this study is to investigate the pedagogic atmosphere of Bollnow is and the educational meaning kept by the pedagogic atmosphere. In order to achieve such study purpose, it first reviewed ideological tradition and meaning of the Bollnow``s pedagogic atmosphere; it divided the double-sidedness, which was the feature of the pedagogic atmosphere, into children``s aspect and educators`` aspect; and then, it attempted to determine to look into the educational meaning kept by the pedagogic atmosphere. According to result of the research, Bollnow paid attention to and understood educational relationship and feelings related to existence and life of children and teachers through an assertion of the pedagogic atmosphere; he sought specific and essential understanding of educational phenomenon; and, he recognized children as the subject of education by focusing on not only feelings of educators but also feelings and attitude of children in education field. In addition, it made it possible to have new educational understanding about children by recognition of the fact that educational will existed inside children and children wanted to be educated; it focused on relationships between educators and children and on feelings based on such relationships; and so, it made us know that the pedagogic atmosphere was essential element for establishment of education and successful education. Especially, the pedagogic atmosphere of Bollnow has an educational meaning in that it may provide a clue to create desirable pedagogic atmosphere in Korea education reality under which atmosphere of conflict and distrust is prevalent.
