학부 재학 유학생을 위한 학문 목적 한국어 쓰기 수업 모형 - 단락 쓰기를 중심으로

This paper aimed to suggest a model for academic paragraph writing education using examples drawn from writing classes for international undergraduate students. The results of the diagnostic assessment showed that the international undergraduate students often failed to adequately organize and structure the required elements of their paragraphs, especially the supporting sentences and the closing sentence, and that the arguments in the paragraphs were often not persuasively established. Thus, this paper designed a model of instruction to assist students in the appropriate organization and structuring of supporting sentences in the paragraph, and to write in such a way as to effectively communicate and clearly demonstrate the arguments in the paragraph. In particular, this academic writing model was intended to help organize paragraph content, and included small group interaction activities that helped develop the skills of asserting arguments convincingly. 본고는 대학 학부 재학 유학생을 위한 쓰기 수업의 사례를 통하여 단락 쓰기 교육 의 한 모형을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 수업 전 실시한 진단평가 결과, 학부 재학 유학생들은 단락 구성의 요소, 특히 뒷받 침 문장들과 마무리 문장을 제대로 갖추지 못하는 경우가 많았고, 단락의 내용 가운 데 주장의 근거를 제대로 갖추지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본고에서는 단락 구성상으로는 ‘뒷받침 문장들’, 그리고 단락의 내용상으로 는 ‘주장의 근거와 그에 대한 설명’이 잘 작성되도록 하는 수업의 모형을 설계하였다. 제안한 수업은 총 4차시로, 단락 내용을 생성하는 단계와 단락을 작성하는 단계로 구 성하였다. 특히, 소집단 상호작용 과정을 통해 주장의 근거를 마련하고 근거를 상세 화하는 활동을 포함함으로써 학습자들이 취약한 단락 내용 구성에 도움을 주고자 하였다.
