Gagok is traditional vocal music that sings Sijo poems to the accompaniment of an orchestra. Currently, 26 pieces male singing and 15 pieces female singing are performing. Gagok, which is currently handed down, has been refined based on Ha Gyu-il's singing, and this study examined the songs based on Ha Gyu-il's singing. As the number of lyrics increases in gagok, the number of musical ground in lines 3 and 5 is increased, and the number of music in lines 1, 2, and 4 is known to be invariant, but in some songs, the length of the music is found to be fluid even in the beginning of the first half of the first line. This case appears intensively in “Jung-geo” and “Pyeong-geo”, and this paper examines the phenomenon of increasing or decreasing the beginning of the first half of first line, and considers the process of establishment of “Jung-geo”, “Pyeong-geo”, and “Du-geo”. Among the changes in the beginning of the first half of the first line, we took a look at the “Gak” where 3 beats are eliminated and the “Beoltteoreojin jangdan” where 8 beats are eliminated. “Gak” appeared mainly when the lyrics of the song were two-syllable beginning, “Beoltteoreojin Jangdan” appeared unique only in some of the piece of music in “Jung-geo” of the male singing. As a result of confirming this according to the history of changes in tunes sung with lyrics, it was organized into three cases. The first case is the case where “Isudaeyeop” or “Jung-geo” went directly to “Pyeong-geo”, and the second case was the case where 3 beats were dropped from “Du-geo” and consequently it was called “Pyeong-geo”. This indicates that “Jung-geo”, “Pyeong-geo”, and “Du-geo” were not simultaneously derived from “Isudaeyeop”, but became “Pyeong-geo” through “Du-geo”. In addition, the classification is “Jung-geo”, but 8 nights are eliminated and become “Pyeong-geo”. As a result of the eliminated of the first line 8 beats, it was confirmed that the beginning of the first line (naedeureum) became the beginning called “Pyeong”, and its nature became “Pyeong-geo”. Through this study, the variability of the first half of the first line in Gagok was confirmed and the process of establishing “Jung-geo”, “Pyeong-geo”, and “Du-geo” was reconsidered.
