        학술 논문 작문 도구로서의 특수 코퍼스의 활용: 한국 공대 대학원생들의 사례 조사

        본 연구는 온라인 사전과 구글을 사용하는 환경에서 학습자들이 직접 구축한 특수 코퍼스의 작문 참조 도구로서의 활용 가능성을 탐색한다. 40명의 공대 대학원생들이 15주간 진행된 학술 목적 작문 수업에서 전공 분야 학술 논문 200여 개를 모아 특수 코퍼스를 구축하였고, 이를 학술 논문을 작성하는 과정에서 작문 참조 도구로 사용하였다. 참가자들의 특수 코퍼스 검색 결과 기록지, 설문 조사, 초점 그룹과의 인터뷰를 삼각 측량으로 분석한 결과, 참가자들은 특수 코퍼스를 구글보다는 더 유용하게 인식하였으나 구축 과정에 있어서의 번거로움, 제한된 데이터 크기, 검색 프로그램의 속도나 오류 문제로 말미암아 특수 코퍼스의 사용 빈도는 온라인 사전이나 구글보다 적었다. 특수 코퍼스의 주요 검색 목적은 검색어의 문맥 안에서의 사용과 연어의 확인에 있었으며, 본인의 초고를 직접 작성한 초점 그룹의 경우 검색어의 수사학적 기능을 학술 논문의 장르적 특성과 연결 지어 분석하는 데에 있어 탁월한 모습을 보였다. 참가자들이 직접 코퍼스를 구축하고 검색한 경험의 장단점 분석을 바탕으로 이 연구는 학술목적 작문 수업에서 보다 효과적으로 특수 코퍼스를 구축하고 활용하는 실제적인 방안을 공유한다. 또한, 코퍼스 기반 접근법을 통해 학술 논문 장르에 대한 인식을 고양시키는 교육적 방안을 통찰한다. In response to the recent trend of utilizing specialized corpora as a writing reference tool, this study investigates the feasibility of compiling and consulting a specialized corpus when online dictionaries and Google are available. In a 15-week academic writing course for publication purposes, 40 graduate students compiled and consulted a specialized corpus comprising approximately 200 research articles. Their hands-on experiences with the self-compiled specialized corpus were analyzed by triangulating student concordance logs, the class survey, and interviews with a focal group. While the specialized corpus was perceived as more useful than Google, it was not consulted as often due to the laborious process of compilation, limited data size, and slow runtime and crashes of the software AntConc. The main search purposes of the specialized corpus were to inquire sentential usage and collocations of the search words. The focal students, who wrote their own research papers, were able to analyze lexicogrammatical features in relation to the rhetorical functions, in particular displaying heightened genre awareness. Implications for compiling and utilizing a specialized corpus in an academic writing class are shared with pedagogical insights, including concordance log worksheets and suggestions for adopting a more effective corpus-based approach raising genre awareness of research articles.

        온라인 멀티미디어 코퍼스의 교육적 활용과 차세대 코퍼스 구축 방안

        A class on Japanese modal adverbs was conducted using an online multimedia corpus which is designed to search for examination of the images and voices of an utterance. Based on the results of demand analysis of the feedback received from learners who participated in the class, improvement plans for the future corpus were thoroughly explored. On considering the results of four aspects such as the collection of corpus data, search and search results suggestions, language data records, and non-verbal data records, it was concluded that the introduction of various technologies including voice recognition and face recognition was inevitable for the comprehensive construction of the online multimedia corpus for the purpose of foreign language education. In addition, the direction for the overall corpus construction based on each technology was presented. 인터넷 상에서 단어 등을 검색하면 해당 단어 발화시의 영상·음성을 참조할수 있도록 설계된 온라인 멀티미디어 코퍼스를 활용하여 일본어 진술부사에 관한 수업을 진행하였다. 그리고 수업에 참여한 학습자들로부터 피드백 받은 요구분석 결과를 바탕으로 향후 코퍼스 개선방안에 대해 고찰하였다. 코퍼스 자료수집, 언어정보 기록, 비언어정보 기록, 검색 및 검색결과 제시의 4가지 측면에서 고찰한 결과, 외국어 교육을 목적으로 한 본격적인 온라인 멀티미디어 코퍼스 구축에는 음성인식 및 얼굴인식을 비롯하여 다방면의 기술 도입이 불가피하다는 결론을 도출하였으며, 각각의 기술들을 기반으로 차세대 코퍼스 구축 방향성에 대해서도 제시하였다.

      • 코퍼스 분석 프로그램을 활용한 학생들의 영어 쓰기 오류 관리 및 피드백 제공 방안

        This study proposes a new way to treat learners' grammatical errors in English writing. In particular, this study focused on the use of corpus-based skills for providing error feedback. For this purpose, three first-year college students participated in the study; two from an advanced and one from an intermediate level. They were all non- English majors. The students were required to write a short essay of about a page on a given topic. They were then asked to revise their essay and submit it. After their second draft, the students were introduced to a free online dictionary and were trained to use Concordance Writer v. 3.3, which provides concordance lines of the target word or expressions for the writer. The errors that the subjects made were given unique tags; for example, ‘PRE’ represented a preposition error. By analyzing the error-tagged drafts using the RANGE program, we are able count the number of errors among all of the errors or within a particular error type. We are able to find what kind of error was most frequent in a particular draft and what kind error had increased or decreased in drafts by a particular subject over the experiment period. In addition, when we used the concordance AntConc to analyze the drafts, we were able to search for all those contexts related to a particular error type.The analysis using the RANGE program showed that the students’ errors decreased over their rewriting processes. Interviews with the students revealed interesting insights. It was discovered that the intermediate student could not apply Concordance Writer v.3.3 in her writing because of her limited English proficiency. She was usually not able to identify her own errors; and, when she did, she was unable to understand the sample given in Concordance Writer v.3.3 in order to correct her writing. In most cases, she used the online dictionary to look up words. The advanced students, however, found both the concordance lines and the online dictionary useful. This was because they were proficient enough to recognize, check, and thus correct their errors using the two programs. For further research, a study is recommended using a larger number of subjects, generalizing the results of the present study. 본 연구에서는 실제 원어민 언어 자료인 코퍼스에서 추출한 예시문을 가리키는 ‘콘코던스’와 ‘온라인 사전’의 활용이 쓰기 오류의 수정에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 중점적으로 살펴보며 코퍼스 분석 프로그램을 활용한 쓰기 오류 피드백 관리 방법을 제안하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 대표성 있는 표집을 통한 실증적인 통계 자료를 제시하기 보다는 소수의 실험 대상을 통하여 영어 쓰기 오류 지도 및 관리, 그리고 새로운 방식의 오류 피드백 방법에 대한 시사점을 이끌어 내는 데 초점을 두었다. 본 연구에 참여한 실험 대상은 서울 소재 A대학교의 1학년 학생 3명이다. 실험 대상 모두 비영어전공의 학생들로 교양영어 과목을 수강하고 있는 학생들이다. 3명 가운데 2명은 쓰기 능력에서 상위권으로 분류될 수 있는 학생들이며 나머지 1명의 학생은 중위권으로 볼 수 있는 학생이다. 3명 모두 장기간의 영어권 국가의 체류 경험은 없었다.본 연구에서는 실험 대상자로 하여금 동일한 주제에 대하여 A4 한 장 길이의 에세이를 작성하게 하였다. 이후 1주일 간격으로 두 차례 글을 수정하여 제출하게 하였다. 첫 번째 수정은 초안 작성과 마찬가지로 어떠한 참고자료나 피드백 없이 글을 수정하도록 요청하였고 두 번째 수정은 아래 그림과 같이 코퍼스 예시 샘플인 콘코던스와 온라인 사전의 참고가 가능한 Concord Writer v.3.3라는 프로그램을 활용하여 수정하게 하였다. 그 결과 기존 연구들과 마찬가지로 상위권 학생들에게서 콘코던스와 온라인 사전의 참고를 활용하여 에세이를 수정해 보는 것이 오류의 수를 줄이는데 보다 효과적이라는 점을 확인 할 수 있었다 본 연구에서는 코퍼스 프로그램을 통한 오류의 관리나 피드백이 보다 체계적인 교수학습의 방법을 소개함으로써 교육적인 시사점과 추후 연구에 대한 방향성을 제시하였다.

        온라인 코퍼스를 활용한 한국어 유의어 교수 방안 연구

        The purpose of this study is to suggest the possibility of using online corpora for teaching synonyms in Korean. The research included how to develop the effective concordance learning materials for teaching synonyms in Korean using data driven learning(DDL). Because synonyms are similar in meaning and usage, even native speaker can not clearly explain the difference in synonyms. Furthermore, it is not easy to provide proper example sentences for each word, and it is a reality that the differentiation of the synonyms are not sufficiently provided in the Korean textbooks. In recent years, it has been claimed that DDL helps students produce vocabulary as well as comprehend vocabulary. Nevertheless, it is hard to find how the concordance materials should be made for them. In this study, we extract concordance examples from the various kinds of online corpora; written and spoken corpora, korean textbooks, newspapers. We presented how to make corpus-designed activities using concordance materials for teaching Korean synonyms. In order to examine the effects of DDL, five experimental lessons were given to a group of 15 advanced korean learners in the university and follow-up surveys(attitude-questionnaire) were conducted. This study is meaningful in that it proposed a new teaching method in Korean synonym education.

        온라인신문 기사제목의 구조와 의미 : - 프랑스어와 한국어 제목의 대조 분석

        Les titres de journaux attirent en premier lieu l'attention du lecteur et jouent un rôle important de faire lire des articles. Ils sont devenus de plus en plus importants ‘en ligne’ par rapport à ceux traditionnels. Pourtant, les études linguistiques sur les titres de journaux sont peu nombreuses, du moins en ce qui a trait aux recherches contrastives du français et du coréen. Le présent travail vise à analyser les propriétés des titres de journaux en ligne d'une part, du point de vue syntaxico-sémantique, et d'autre part dans une perspective du producteur de textes journalistiques. Pour ce faire, nous avons dégager les similitudes et les différences linguistiques des titres de journaux français et leurs équivalents sémantiques coréens. Parmi les différences, les titres dans deux langues sont plutôt de ‘type informatif’ et ils se caractérisent par un style plus compact et nominal. Pour avoir les résultats plus convaincants, il faudarit analyser un corpus plus vaste ainsi que celui du caractère tout différent.

        세종 현대국어 코퍼스의 재발견: SJ-RIKS 코퍼스 확장판

        Through the annotation of parts of speech of the entire corpus that was built by the 21st century Sejong Project (1998-2007), this research aims to develop a basic tool that utilizes the annotated corpus. The 21st century Sejong Project was a long term project that aimed to computerize the Korean language. The first corpus that was a result of the 21st century Sejong Project and sports a massive corpus scale that extends over 130 million words. However, there lacks annotation information on the corpus as well as a basic tool to utilize the corpus fails to exist. Therefore, limitation lies in the fact that only the annotation of part of speech of the 15 million words was usually used in research. Under the goal of improving the succession of the purpose of the 21st century Sejong Project this paper will develop and introduce a tool that annotates the part of speech of the corpus in its entirety and utilizes it. Especially, in order to increase the accuracy of the analysis the corpus text was examined one by one and through the correction process of the errors that were detected we were able to improve the credibility of corpus. Through this process we came one step closer to developing a nation scale corpus that is comparable to the BNC which was the original goal of the 21st century Sejong Project. Furthermore, this research also meant that in the future not only in the Korean language academia but this system will be able to be widely utilized in Informatics of Korean language.

        한국어 유사 문법 교육에서 자료주도학습의 적용 효과 연구

        본고는 유사 문법 교육에서 코퍼스를 활용하여 자료주도학습의 효율화 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 자료주도학습은 학습자가 콘코던스를 통해 추출된 언어자료에서 발견한 언어자질(salient feature)을 분석한 후 자기 스스로 발견한 규칙을 일반화한다는 것이다. 중국의 한국어 교육은 전통적으로 교사중심의 연역적 설명과 명시적 정보를 암기하는 주입식 교육인 점을 고려하여 본고에서는 중국의 한국어 학습자들의 유사 문법 학습에 대한 요구 조사 결과를 통하여 귀납적 방법과 연역적 방법의 자료주도학습 모형을 설계하고 실제적인 교육 현장에 적용하여 그 효과성을 검증하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 두 학급을 실험집단으로 선정하고 학급별로 각각 학생중심 귀납적 학습과 교사중심 연역적 학습을 적용하여 14차시의 연구수업을 실시하였다. 연구수업의 전과 후에는 학생들을 대상으로 한 사전·사후 평가 및 개방형 설문을 실시하여 학습방법과 학습자 수준에 따라 학습효과가 다르게 나타났음을 밝힘으로써 인지적, 정의적 실험 결과와 개방형 설문을 바탕으로 설계한 학습모형을 수정하고 보완하였다. 본 연구는 코퍼스를 활용하여 구체적이고 실제적인 활용 방안을 개발하여 교육 현장에 적용함으로써 한국어 유사 문법 교육에 새로운 가능성을 고찰한 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to explore the efficiency of data driven learning using corpus in similar grammar education. Data-driven learning is that learners generalize their own rules after analyzing salient features found in language data extracted through the concordance. Considering that Chinese Korean language education is traditionally teacher-centered deductive and explicit information memorizing, this study based on the results of a survey on similar grammar learning, designed data-driven learning models of inductive and deductive methods and applied them to the actual classroom to verified its effectiveness. To verify this, two classes were selected as an experimental group, applying student-centered inductive learning and teacher-centered deductive learning to each class, respectively,for a total of 14 lessons. Before and after the research class, pre- and post-evaluation and open-ended questionnaires were conducted for students, revealing that learning effects differed depending on the learning method and learner level. On this basis, combined with cognitive and effective experiment results and the results of the open questionnaire, the designed learning model is modified and supplemented. This study provides a new possibility for Korean similar grammar education by using the corpus to make specific and practical application plans and applying them to the field of education.

        온라인 멀티미디어 코퍼스 구축 -일본 텔레비전 대담방송을 자료로-

        Corpus, a collection of data on the language used in day-to-day life that can be processed through computers, is highly useful in linguistics and education. It can examine how a language is used during natural communication. In the case of spoken Japanese, however, online public corpora that can be utilized for research and education are quite rare. To address such an issue, based on “talk show corpus” data, the current study aims to build an “online multimedia corpus” where spoken Japanese can be found. The study used data from video files of 106 episodes of talk show programs, written text files of voice recordings from each episode, which is 40 hours recording in total, and Japanese-Korean subtitle files produced by Son, Young Suk (2017, 2018). As a result of building the online multimedia corpus, one can easily access the Internet to get information on spoken Japanese and share one’s findings without time or location constraints. A person does not even need advanced computer skills to access this. The contexts of front and rear are arranged in KWIC(Keyword in Context) format, so by using “language entry=keyword” to search, the relevant videos are automatically and continuously played. The implementation of this function, “video KWIC,” is significant, as it allows users to not only study spoken Japanese but also observe how it was spoken in videos.

        중국의 코퍼스 기반 번역 교육 연구 : 선행연구를 중심으로

        This study overviews the trends in China s corpus-based translation studies, and focuses on several studies on corpus-based translator education. According to the studies that analyzed the trends of corpus-based translation studies in China, the most popular research subject is linguistic features of translation texts, specifically translation universals such as ‘explication . The second popular research subject is the application of corpus, such as studies on the application of corpus in translator education. As noteworthy case studies on corpus-based translator education, this study introduces two corpus-based online translation training systems developed by Chinese researchers. One is English-Chinese online translation training system developed by City University of Hong Kong, and the other one is the Han Suyin Contest Corpus(parellel corpus built from the award-winning translation works of the national translation contest) developed by Xiamen University of Technology.
