시 짓기와 철학하기 -철학적 해석학의 횔덜린 수용사-

The German philosophical pattern in the early 20th century is divided into two different camps that accepted the German ramanticism, especially Hölderlin-receptor. On the one hand, it is camp that we call ‘philosophical hermeneutic’, on the other hand, is what we call the critical theory. Before we deal with the receptor of critical theory, the paper focuses on the acceptance of Hölderlin‘s speculative poetry and the problem of Wirkungsgeschichte in ’philosophical hermeneutic‘. And then the paper discusses Hölderlin’s wirkungsgeschichtliche acceptance in the thought of philosophical hermeneutic, through this, it intend to overcome the conflict between poetry and philosophy to find the truth of poetic literature. Finally discuss the difference between Heidegger‘s ontological philosophy and Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutic in Hölderlin-acceptance. The difference is as follows. 1. Heidegger tried to sublimate Hölderlin’s poetry into a horizon of German idealism philosophy. 2. From Heidegger’s point of view is Hölderlin more of a philosopher than a poet. 3. Eventually, from Heidegger’s ontological philosophy, Hölderlin‘s art world was exiled to the periphery of the debate. In Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneuic, 1. Hölderlin‘s speculative poetry is interpreted as a poetic literature that embody the awareness of one’s own times. 2. Hölderlin’s view of the role of poetry and poet in a new era is reinterpreted upon modern needs. 논문은 하이데거와 가다머의 횔덜린 시와 정신세계의 수용사 그리고 여기에 내재하는 그들 사이의 차이를 다룬다. 하이데거는 첫 번째 횔덜린 소환과 함께 정치적으로 실패한 독일정신혁명을 철학적으로 달성하고자 하였으며, 두 번째 횔덜린 소환으로 그는 기술문명비판과 자본주의정신 비판을 수행했다. 이에 반해 가다머에게 횔덜린은 하이데거에게서처럼 자기철학 구상을 위한 수단이 아니라, 해석학적 이해의 해석대상이다. 가다머는 횔덜린의 시와 정신세계를 다시 해석의 무대에 세움으로써 횔덜린이 마땅히 차지해야 할 정신사에서의 위치를 찾아 주고자 했다. 다음으로 하이데거가 두 번째 횔덜린을 소환했을 때, 하이데거의 눈앞의 세계는 기술문명과 자본의 위협 앞에 발가벗겨 놓여있는 파국직전의 세계였다. 따라서 하이데거는 세계의 종말 직전에 간절히 고대하는 “최후의 신”의 도래를 기다리는 종말론적 사유특성을 가지고 있다. 그러나 가다머는 영향사적 의식의 무한 개방성을 횔덜린의 ‘회상’에서 발견하며 횔덜린과 더불어 종말론을 거부한다. 마지막으로 하이데거는 “천둥번개”로 말하는 신의 언어가 창조하는 존재와 이렇게 창조된 존재의 위력 앞에서의 침묵의 필연성을 말하지만, 가다머는 끝없는 말과 말 사이의 상호 교섭에서의 의미지평의 무한진행과 이행을 보장하는 대화의 필연성을 주장한다.

해석학의 탈식민적 사유 방법으로의 전유 가능성 : 유교전통과의 화해를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to expound upon the need of dialogue with East Asian tradition of humanities. In particular, the study will emphasize the importance of overcoming the dichotomy between tradition and modernity in order to make it clear how Korea society can have successfully developed democracy and industrialization. And what the author will notice as a method to overcome the dichotomy of tradition and modernity is H. G. Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics which has contributed greatly to understand the meaning of tradition anew. Therefore, in this article the author will make it clear which meaning his hermeneutics has in the development of the decolonial thinking of our society. In other words, in this article, the author will elaborate upon what the necessity of the reinstatement of the tradition and the importance of the historical effected consciousness, which Gadamer’s hermeneutics emphasizes, can contribute to the development of the decolonial tasks which Korea society needs. 이 글은 탈식민적 사유의 방법으로 동아시아 인문전통과의 대화의 필요성을 명확하게 드러내는 것을 목적으로 삼는다. 이 글은 특히 민주주의와 산업화에서 성공한 한국사회의 경험을 제대로 이해하기 위해서는 전통과 근대의 이분법을 넘어서야 함을 강조한다. 그리고 전통과 현대의 이분법을 넘어설 수 있는 방법으로 필자가 주목하는 것은 전통의 의미를 새롭게 이해하고자 하는 가다머의 철학적 해석학이다. 그러므로 이 글에서 필자는 우리사회의 탈식민적 사유를 전개하는 데 그의 해석학이 어떤 의미를 지는지를 명료하게 해보고자 한다. 달리 말하자면 이 글에서 필자는 가다머의 해석학이 강조하는 전통의 복권의 필요성 및 영향사적 의식의 중요성이 우리사회의 탈식민적 과제를 진전시키는 데 기여할 수 있는 바가 무엇인지를 밝혀보고자 한다.

가다머의 해석학적 언어론

본 논문은 가다머의 ‘해석학적 언어론’을 구체적으로 해명해 보는 것을 기본목적으로 삼고 있다. 주지하다시피 가다머는 진리와 방법 제3부에서 ‘해석학적 경험 매체로서의 언어’와 ‘해석학적 존재론의 지평으로서의 언어’에 대해 다루면서 자신의 언어론을 구체적 으로 제시하고 있다. 이러한 그의 해석학적 언어론을 해명하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 다음 과 같은 순서로 논의를 전개하였다. 먼저, 2장에서는 언어와 사유의 관계 문제에 있어서 가장 중요하게 부각된 단일설적 입장의 사상가, 즉 훔볼트, 카시러, 하이데거 등의 입장을 소개하면서 이에 대한 가다머의 비판에 대해 살펴보았다. 이것은 이들 사상가들이 단일설 적 입장을 동일하게 취하면서도 그 근본 언어사상에서는 다소 차이가 있음을 밝히기 위함 이다. 이어서 3장에서는 가다머의 해석학적 언어론에 대해 구체적으로 해명해 보았다. 여 기서는 크게 세 가지 접근주제, 즉 ‘해석학적 경험 매체로의 언어’와 ‘이해와 언어성의 관 계’ 그리고 ‘언어의 사변성’으로 구분하여 그 본질적 의미를 해명하였다. 끝으로, 4장에서 는 가다머의 해석학적 언어론에서 드러나는 몇 가지 문제점을 비판적으로 검토해 보면서 본 논의를 맺고자 하였다. The main purpose of this thesis is to explain Gadamer’s ‘hermeneutic linguistics’ in detail. As is well known, Gadamer shows his linguistic theory in detail by dealing with ‘language as a medium of hermeneutic experience’ and ‘language as a horizon of hermeneutic ontology’ in Part 3 of Truth and Method(Wahrheit und Methode). In order to elucidate his hermeneutic linguistics, this paper developed the discussion in the following order. First, in Chapter 2, I looked into Gadamer’s critique of this by introducing the views of the monotheistic thinkers, namely Humboldt, Cassirer, Heidegger, etc. This is to reveal that while these thinkers take the same monotheistic position, there are some differences in their fundamental linguistic thought. Next, in Chapter 3, Gadamer’s hermeneutic linguistic theory was explained in detail. In this chapter, the essential meanings were elucidated by dividing them into three main approaches: ‘language as a hermeneutic experience medium’, ‘relationship between understanding and linguistics’, and ‘speculative nature of language’. Finally, in Chapter 4, I tried to conclude this discussion by critically examining some problems revealed in Gadamer’s hermeneutic linguistics.

개념사의 아론 지평 ; 철학적 해석학과 개념사

This article attempts to investigate the relation between philosophical hermeneutics and conceptual history. More specifically, this study lays the foundation for future work on a research model for conceptual history. Thus, this study aims to provide an overview of the essential feature of Gadamer`s philosophical Hermeneutics. This study is organized as follows: the first section sketches out Gadamer`s view of conceptual history; Gadamer applies his hermen- eutically attuned thought to the concept of conceptual history, claiming that the task of research of conceptual history is to fulfill as philosophy itself. For example, Socratic dialectic is an excellent model of conceptual practice. The second section deals with the importance of philosophical hermeneutics as model of conceptual history. Gadamer describes the hermeneutic task as coming into conversation with the text. He elaborates that opening a conversation cannot be mechanized, or methodized, either, and that, indeed, the function of hermeneutics is to transform a fixed assertion into conversation, and to bring the bygone and static past back into the process of history. In dialogue, as with tradition questioning is reciprocal. To open a conversation with a text means to understand the question to which the text is an answer as an open question. The third section, then, summarizes Gadamer`s detailed analysis of humanistic concepts. As Gadamer aims to seek out the experience of truth, which transcends the realm of control of scientific methodology. The human sciences merge with kinds of experience which lie beyond the natural sciences - kinds of experience which Gadamer claims cannot be verified by the methodological means of the natural sciences. Gadamer examine humanistic concepts to clarify the source of truth that can legitimate the human sciences as science. Considered together, Bildung, common sense, judgement, and taste are ways of knowing and being. He discerns the significance of the humanistic tradition behind this unity of ways of knowing and being.
