Identity theories of desistance emphasize a change in self-identity to fundamentally end the criminal behaviors. Based on the identity theories of desistance, I analyzed a panel data collected from 232 juvenile offenders who discharged from juvenile detention centers in 2018. The results are as follows. First, the 3-year average social support of others, bond with the probation officer, commitment to employment, frequency of drinking before admission to the juvenile detention, and age at admission had a significant effect on average positive self-identity over the 3-year period. Second, positive self-identity decreased for a period of one year after discharge, but it was not statistically significant. Third, the bond with the probation officer showed a significant and positive effect on the development of positive self-identity. Based on the results, a probation plan focusing on the bond with the probation officer, the role of the local community, lifestyle improvement, and employment was proposed. 범죄중단의 정체성 이론은 근본적인 범죄경력의 단절을 위해 자아정체성의 변화가 필요하다는 점을 강조한다. 범죄중단의 정체성 이론에 기반하여 2018년 소년원 출원생 232명을 대상으로 수집한패널조사 자료를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 3년 평균 주변인의 사회적지지, 보호관찰관과의유대, 취업에 대한 몰두, 입소전 음주빈도, 입소시점 나이는 3년 평균 긍정적 자아정체성에 유의한영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 긍정적 자아정체성은 소년원 퇴원 후 1년여의 기간 동안 지속적으로 감소하였으나, 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았다. 셋째, 보호관찰관과의 유대는 긍정적 자아정체성 발달에 유의미한 양의 효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 분석결과를 토대로, 보호관찰관과의 유대, 지역공동체의 역할, 생활양식의 개선, 취업 등에 초점을 맞춘 보호관찰 방안을 제시하였다.
