        Hardware Implementation of Time Skew Calibration Block for Time Interleaved ADC

        This paper presents hardware implementation of background timing-skew calibration technique for time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters (TI ADCs). The timing skew between any two adjacent analog-digital (A/D) channels is detected by using pure digital Finite Impulse Response (FIR) delay filter. This paper includes hardware architecture of the system, main units and small sub-blocks along with control logic circuits. Moreover, timing diagrams of logic simulations using ModelSim are provided and discussed for further understanding about simulations. Simulation process in MATLAB and Verilog is also included and provided with basic settings need to be done. For hardware implementation it not practical to work with all samples. Hence, the simulation is conducted on 512 TI ADC output samples which are stored in the buffer simultaneously and the correction arithmetic is done on those samples according to the time skew algorithm. Through the simulated results, we verified the implemented hardware is working well.

        Computer Vision Platform Design with MEAN Stack Basis

        In this paper, we implemented the computer vision platform design with MEAN Stack through Raspberry PI 2 model which is an open source platform. we experimented the face recognition, temperature and humidity sensor data logging with WiFi communication under Raspberry Pi 2 model. Especially we directly made the shape of platform with 3D printing design. In this paper, we used the face recognition algorithm with OpenCV software through haarcascade feature extraction machine learning algorithm, and extended the functionality of wireless communication function ability with Bluetooth technology for the purpose of making Android Mobile devices interface. And therefore we implemented the functions of the vision platform for identifying the face recognition characteristics of scanning with PI camera with gathering the temperature and humidity sensor data under IoT environment. and made the vision platform with 3D printing technology. Especially we used MongoDB for developing the performance of vision platform because the MongoDB is more akin to working with objects in a programming language than what we know of as a database. Afterwards, we would enhance the performance of vision platform for clouding functionalities.

        Embedded System Design with COS LoRa technology

        It is the approach of embedded system design that analyzes COS(Cut Out Switch) failure in the power distribution and an instantaneous breakdown of power distribution supply could cause the weakness of industrial competence and therefore we need to feed the stable power distribution with developing the technology of open-source embedded system. In this paper, we apply the LoRa technology which is the Internet of Things(IoT) protocol for low data rate, low power, low cost and long range sensor applications. We designed the hardware and software architecture setup and experimented the embedded system with network architecture and COS monitoring system including accelerometer for detecting the failure of distribution line and sensing the failure of its fuse holder by recognizing the variation and collision and afterwards sending the information to a gateway. With experimenting we designed the embedded platform for sensing the variation and collision according to the COS failure, monitoring its fuse holder status and transferring the information of states with LoRa technology.

        Interactive Multipath Routing Protocol for Improving the Routing Performance in Wireless Sensor Networks

        Multipath routing technique is recognized as one of the effective approaches to improve the reliability of data forwarding. However, the traditional multipath routing focuses only on how many paths are needed to ensure a desired reliability. For this purpose, the protocols construct additional paths and thus cause significant energy consumption. These problems have motivated the study for the energy-efficient and reliable data forwarding. Thus, this paper proposes an energy-efficient concurrent multipath routing protocol with a small number of paths based on interaction between paths. The interaction between paths helps to reinforce the multipath reliability by making efficient use of resources. The protocol selects several nodes located in the radio overlapped area between a pair of paths as bridge nodes for the path-interaction. In order to operate the bridge node efficiently, when the transmission failure has detected by overhearing at each path, it performs recovery transmission to recover the path failure. Simulation results show that proposed protocol is superior to the existing multipath protocols in terms of energy consumption and delivery reliability.

        A Study of Consumer Behavior on Online Shopping Discount Event - Cyber hot Days - in Korea

        US Retailers consider two major holiday shopping days as their most profitable-the Friday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the Monday after Thanksgiving, CyberMonday. Online shopping discount events have boosted up the shopping markets resulting in pumping up National economy. For such reasons, Korea also has launched online shopping discount event, which is called 'Cyber hot days'. The primary purpose of this paper is to understand consumer behavior on Cyber hot days and suggest how retailers can harness those consumer behaviors and how government agency can support both retailers and consumers to boost up shopping markets. The results of empirical test shows that economic value, emotional value, and product variety were found to be significantly related to consumers' attitude on Cyber hot days, but convenience value, social value, and product uniqueness were not. Consumers' attitude was also found to be significantly related to the repurchase intention. It implicates that price, enjoyment, and product variety are important aspects to Korean consumers when they purchase during online shopping discount event.

        Efficient and Security Enhanced Evolved Packet System Authentication and Key Agreement Protocol

        As people increasingly rely on mobile networks in modern society, mobile communication security is becoming more and more important. In the Long Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution (LTE/SAE) architecture, the 3rd Generation Partnership (3GPP) team has also developed the improved Evolved Packet System Authentication and Key Agreement (EPS AKA) protocol based on the 3rd Generation Authentication and Key Agreement (3G AKA) protocol in order to provide mutual authentication and secure communication between the user and the network. Unfortunately, the EPS AKA also has several vulnerabilities such as sending the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) in plain text (which leads to disclosure of user identity and further causes location and tracing of the user, Mobility Management Entity (MME) attack), man-in-middle attack, etc. Hence, in this paper, we analyze the EPS AKA protocol and point out its deficiencies and then propose an Efficient and Security Enhanced Authentication and Key agreement (ESE-EPS AKA) protocol based on hybrid of Dynamic Pseudonym Mechanism (DPM) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) retaining the original framework and the infrastructure of the LTE network. Then, our evaluation proves that the proposed new ESE-EPS AKA protocol is relatively more efficient, secure and satisfies some of the security requirements such as confidentiality, integrity and authentication.

        Effect of Transition Metal Oxides Addition on Yttria - stabilized Zirconia for improving Physical and Mechanical Properties

        Mechanical properties of Y2O3-containing tetragonal ZrO2 polycrystals(Y-TZP) were investigated. Several additives were used to modify the hardness and fracture toughness of Y-TZP. The effects of these individual additives were discussed and their interactions were also analysed. Each additive, such as CoO, Fe2O3, MnO2 was found to deteriorate the mechanical properties of Y-TZP when it was used singly. But the fracture toughness of Y-TZP was significantly improved when these additives and Al2O3 were added in combination at a certain ratio. The addition of CoO, Fe2O3 and MnO2 into Y-TZP resulted in the more complex behavior of fracture toughness and hardness. The specimen with 1.5 wt%-Fe2O3, 3.0 wt% -Al2O3 and 1.5 wt%-CoO showed the monoclinic to tetragonal phase ratio of 18% and the highest toughness of $10.8MPa{\cdot}m1/2$ with Vickers hardness of 1201 kgf/mm2. However, the toughness decreased as the ratio increased and macrocracks developed beyond the ratio of 25%. Sample No. 16 is improved high Physical and Mechanical Properties.

        Enhanced Belief Propagation Polar Decoder for Finite Lengths

        In this paper, we discuss the belief propagation decoding algorithm for polar codes. The performance of Polar codes for shorter lengths is not satisfactory. Motivated by this, we propose a novel technique to improve its performance at short lengths. We showed that the probability of messages passed along the factor graph of polar codes, can be increased by multiplying the current message of nodes with their previous message. This is like a feedback path in which the present signal is updated by multiplying with its previous signal. Thus the experimental results show that performance of belief propagation polar decoder can be improved using this proposed technique. Simulation results in binary-input additive white Gaussian noise channel (BI-AWGNC) show that the proposed belief propagation polar decoder can provide significant gain of 2 dB over the original belief propagation polar decoder with code rate 0.5 and code length 128 at the bit error rate (BER) of $10^{-4}$.

        A Custom Code Generation Technique for ASIPs from High-level Language

        In this paper, we discuss a code generation technique for custom transport triggered architecture (TTA) from a high-level language structure. This methodology is implemented by using TTA-based Co-design Environment (TCE) tool. The results show how the scheduler exploits instruction level parallelism in the custom target architecture and source program. Thus, the scheduler generates parallel TTA instructions using lower cycle counts than the sequential scheduling algorithm. Moreover, we take Tensilica tool to make a comparison with TCE. Because of the efficiency of TTA, TCE takes less execution cycles compared to Tensilica configurations. Finally, this paper shows that it requires only 7 cycles to generate the parallel TTA instruction set for implementing Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) applications as an input design, and presents the code generation technique to move complexity from the processor software to hardware architecture. This method can be applicable lots of channel Codecs like CRC and source Codecs like High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC).
