김은조,한금선 한국정신간호학회 2023 정신간호학회지 Vol.32 No.2
Purpose: This study aimed to examine research published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (JKPMHN) from 2013 to 2022. Methods: Descriptive statistics, text network analysis, and topic modeling were used to analyze 368 articles. Results: The most prevalent research designs in the articles published during the past decade were cross-sectional studies (44.6%) and qualitative research (19.2%). The subjects of the included studies were people with mental illnesses (18.7%), nursing students (11.7%), and psychiatric nurses (8.7%). A text network comprised of the keywords from the research abstracts was constructed and presented. The text network analysis identified the main keywords as: “depression”, “family”, “stress”, “intervention”, “life”, “suicide”, “communication”, “alcoholics”, and “experience”. Seven topics were derived through the topic modeling: nursing intervention for mental health problems, nursing research for patients with mental illnesses, the competency of mental health nurses, the meaning derived from life experience, family in mental health, the mental health of nurses, and the mental health of students. Conclusion: This study determined the recent research trends in the JKPMHN. In psychiatric nursing research, efforts should continue to serve as the basis for practice and produce relevant evidence, and research priorities need to be established.
이광자 ( Lee Gwang Ja ) 한국정신간호학회 2001 정신간호학회지 Vol.10 No.4
This study was conducted to analyze the nursing research methodology and the key concepts used in articles published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric Nursing. The purpose of this study was for reflecting the trends of psychiatric nursing research and suggesting the direction of future nursing research in Korea. The results are following. 1. There were 173 research studies in Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric Nursing from 1992 to 2000, yet the number increased in 1998, 110 research studies done since 1998 and it is 63% of the total research studies. 2. The most of the research studies are non-degree research studies. Thesis and research studies with fund have been rapidly increased since 1999. There were many individual research studies, but after 2000 year the collaborative research studies have been increased. 3. The prevailing research designs were the non-experimental design(60.1%), pre-experimental(13.3%), quasi-experimental(9.8%), and qualitative research designs(9.3%) in order. 4. As for the research subjects were patient(30.2%) and generally healthy persons(24.2%), next to primary care-givers, nutrses or nursing students and research articles. 5. The data collection method used most often self-report questionnaires using psychosocial measurement(66.2%). Intelview methods and physiologic measures were used relatively few times. In 1970`s psychosocial measurement and self-report had been used a lot. After 1990`s psychological measurement has been increased. 6. The domain of the key concepts that prevailed was health(39.3%) and human being domain(19.8%). The key concepts related to nursing domain(18%), and environmental domain(13%) were relatively low. The prevailing key words of the health domain were psychological health-stress, depression, mental health, self-esteem. The prevailing key words related to nursing domain were self-care activity, psychoeducation, group counseling, community mental health nursing program. This study has the limitation of focusing on only the superficial structural analysis rather than in-depth content analysis of each article. However, this study is the study for reflecting the trends of nursing research based on the Korean Academy of Psychiatric Nursing. Based on the research results, there are some prospect and proposition. 1. It is needed to study to check effectiveness of the post educational program for the patients and families. 2. In the research design, it is needed more qualitative research. In the main concerns of the psychiatric nursing research is human`s real experience to understand other peoples experience. 3. The present study has provided important psychiatric nursing concepts such as human being, health, environment, and nursing for understanding psychiatric nursing interventions. The key concepts related to nursing and environmental domain were relatively low.

남경아 ( Kyoung A Nam ) 한국정신간호학회 2014 정신간호학회지 Vol.23 No.4
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in qualitative research articles that from 2004 to 2013 in the Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and to raise issues for the evolution of qualitative research. Methods: Descriptive statistics and qualitative evaluation were used in analysis of fifty qualitative studies. The focus was on research methodology and techniques to establish validity of the study. Results: Most frequently used methodological orientation was phenomenology (48.0%) and the analytic method was Colaizzi’s. Nearly two-thirds of studies focused on general population or psychiatric patients dwelling in community settings. There were no comments on validity in fifteen studies, and in the rest of studies, the description about the techniques to enhance the validity of study were not elaborated. Conclusion: Although qualitative studies in health care environment have increased recently, the proportion of qualitative studies compared with quantitative studies was relatively low in the Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. In order to make qualitative studies useful to nursing research, practice, administration and education, authors employing qualitative research methods should exert efforts to enhance validity of studies.

Purpose: This study is done to investigate the attitudes of teachers toward mental illness and to provide appropriate information about mental illness. Methods: The participants were 228 teachers recruited from 15 elementary schools in the National Capital region and B metropolitan city. Data were collected from October to December, 2013 and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe test with SPSS 18.0. Results: Neutral attitudes (77.4±7.79) toward mental illness were shown among the teachers. A negative attitude for stereotyping (23.2±6.08), a positive attitude for optimism (19.3±3.01) and neutral attitudes for coping (19.3±1.92) and understanding (15.6 ±3.05) were revealed. Conclusion: The results indicate that elementary school teachers have neutral attitudes towards mental illness which is closely related to the experience of learning about mental illness. Thus, when teachers learn about mental illness they can understand and guide children who have unusual behaviors.
