甘桔湯 및 甘桔湯 加味方의 解熱 , 消炎 , 祛痰 작용에 대한 연구

Objects : Gamgiltant, which is in common use of laryngopharyngeal disease, consists of Glycyrrhizae Radix and Placotycodi Radix. Author intended to find out the efficacy of Kami-gamgiltant(added Houttuyniae Herba, Schizandrae Fructus and Sterculliae lychnophorae Semen, which are good for respiratory disease, to Gamgiltant) for the purpose of developing a recipe effective for sphagitis or bronchitis. Methods : After oral administration of Gamgiltang or Kami-gamgiltant to rats, the efficacies of antipyretics, antiinflammation and discharge of phlegm are figured. After inducing the rats to be feverish by injecting LPS(10㎍ LPS/㎏ body weight) of Serratia marcescens into caudal vein of them, rectal temperatures were taken to prove antipyretic effect. After inducing the rats to be edematous by injecting 0.1% of carrageenin into hind paw, the volumes of hind paw were measured to prove antiinflammatory effect. To testify the effect on discharge of phlegm, after administrating the decoctions to rats, quantity of mucous in their throat are measured. Also by aspirating 250ppm of sulfur dioxide 2 and half hours a day during 12 days, rats were induced laryngopharyngeal infections. Then adminstrating the decoction since 5th day of aspiration, the numbers of leukocyte were figured with the object to identify microbial infections. Results : 1) Gamgiltang and Kami-gamgiltant have antipyretic effects on pyrexia induced by LPS injection. Also the latter recovered quickly than the former. 2) Gamgiltant and Kami-gamgiltang have antiedematous effects on edema induced by carrageenin injection. Also the latter shows a quick recovery than the former. 3) Gamgiltant and Kami-gamgiltang have no effect on normal mucous tissue in their throat. 4) The decoction of Gamgiltang has an effect on inflammation induced by exposure to sulfur dioxide, but the Kami-gamgiltant doesn't. Conclusion : Gamgiltang and Kami-gamgiltant could be effective for laryngopharyngeal disease.
옻나무-두충추출혼합물(ILF-RE)의 간기능 개선에 대한 유효성 및안전성을 평가하기 위한 무작위배정 이중눈가림 인체적용시험

Objectives:The purpose of this study is to determine whether Rhus verniciflua Stokes with Latin name Lacca Sinica Exsiccata, and Eucommia ulmoides Oliver with Latin name Eucommiae Cortex Extract Combination (ILF-RE) improves laboratory test results in participants with liver function disorder. Methods:This study was conducted at Woosuk university Korean medicine hospital where participants with high serum alanine transaminase (ALT) levels from 45 to 135 U/L were enrolled. Subjects received ILF-RE 3.6 g (1.2 g/day as ILF-RE) or placebo 3.6 g for 12 weeks. It was confirmed that urushiol was not detected in ILF-RE. The primary outcomes were the decrement degree of serum ALT and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels between two groups. The secondary outcomes were the decrement degree of serum aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), lactate dehydrogenase (LD), total bilirubin, total cholesterol, triglyceride (TG) and fatty liver index (FLI) levels between two groups. Adverse events, skin prick tests, laboratory tests, and vital signs were observed and analyzed to confirm the safety of ILF-RE. Results:In the ILF-RE group, the liver function index ALT, GGT, lipid metabolism index TG, and fatty liver index FLI were significantly decreased compared to the placebo group. There was no significant difference in ILF-RE group in terms of adverse events, severe adverse events, skin prick test, laboratory test, and vital signs compared with placebo group. Conclusions:ILF-RE was found to be effective in improving liver function. In addition, no clinically significant adverse events or body changes were observed during this study.
연산호 추출물(MC-1)이 아토피피부염 유발 NC/Nga 생쥐의 혈액내 면역 관련 인자에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The aim of this study was to confirm whether or not coral has a preventive effect on development of atopic dermatitis induced by house mite(dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) in NC/Nga mice. Methods : This study was undertaken by using a reliable Atopic dermatitis mouse model demonstrating similar immune response. Lobophytum crassum was administered orally to NC/Nga mouse for 3 weeks. In order to verify the effectiveness of Lobophytum crassum in atopic dermatitis treatment, its role in immune factors were observed in NC/Nga mice. Results : ALT, AST, BUN and creatine levels were all within in the normal ranges in MC-1 200 and 400 (㎎/ ㎏) treated groups, indicating no induced toxicity. MC-1 200 and 400 (㎎/㎏) groups decreased of atopic dermatitis skin manifestation in NC/Nga mouse of MC-1 200 and 400 (㎎/㎏) groups compared to that of the control group and decreased the ratio of WBC and lymphocyte in blood. Also, MC-1 200 and 400 (㎎/㎏) groups significant decreased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, CD11b+/Gr1+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cell ratio in ALN. Finally MC-1 200 and 400 (㎎/㎏) groups significantly increased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cells in DLN. Conclusions : Theses results suggested that Lobophytum crassum has suppressive effects on aberrant and overactive immunological activities in dermatophagoides pteronyssinus-induced dermatitis mice of NC/Nga.
기혈소통환(氣血疏通丸)이 Monosodium iodoacetate로 골관절염(骨關節炎)을 유도(誘導)한 랫드에 미치는 영향(影響)

Objectives : In cases of osteoarthritis, the hypofunction of the cartilage and joint leads to a limited range of joint motion, swelling, and pain, which is generally treated using pharmaceutical drugs (e.g., anti-inflammatory agents, cartilage protectants, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or replacement arthroplasty. However, long-term drug treatment is associated with adverse effects on the gastrointestinal systems. The present study aimed to evaluate the ability of Giheolsotong-hwan to treat of osteoarthritis symptoms in the MIA-induced rat model based on histological analysis, and factors that are associated with inflammation and bone mineral metabolism. Methods : Giheolsotong-hwan was administered orally at doses of 200 ㎎/㎏/day or 400 ㎎/㎏/day for 2 weeks before direct injection of monosodium iodoacetate (3 ㎎/50㎕ of 0.9% saline) into the intra-articular space of the rats’ right knee. The rats subsequently received the same doses of oral Giheolsotong-hwan for another 4 weeks. We evaluated the treatment effects based on serum biomarkers and histopathological analysis of the knee joints. Results : Compared to those in control rats, the Giheolsotong-hwan treatments significantly decreased the serum concentration of inflammation factors (i.e., IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, PGE<sub>2</sub>, and LTB<sub>4</sub>), and bone degrade factors (i.e., MMP-9, CTX-Ⅱ, and COMP). In addition, the Giheolsotong-hwan treatments significantly increased the concentration of glycosaminoglycans of bone defence factors, but no chage the TIMP-1. Furthermore, the Giheolsotong-hwan treatments effectively preserved the knee cartilage and proteoglycan. Conclusion : The results indicate that Giheolsotong-hwan treated osteoarthritis symptoms. Thus, Giheolsotonghwan may be a novel oriental therapeutic option for the management of osteoarthritis.

N/A Objective : To evaluate the effect of Semen Armeniaceae Amarum (SAA) on allergy, studies were done experimentally. Methods : After induction of allergic inflammation asthma by treatment of ovalbumin, water extract from SAA were taken orally for five successive days on mice respectively. We were measured in BALF, serum IgE, FCA on the biochemical change associated with allergy. Results : In the total cell of BALF, the SAA extract 48Omg/kg treated group was significantly reduced compared to control group and the reduction of eosinophil showed significantly at concentration of 240, 48Omg/kg. The SAA extract (480mg/kg) group was significantly decreased compared to control group on IgE antibody formation. SAA dose-dependently also significantly inhibited to passive cutaneous anaphylaxis(PCA) activated by anti - dinitropheny 1 (DNP) IgE. Conclusions : These results indicate that Semen Armeniaceae Amarum showed benefical effect on the allergic asthma.
