In this paper Zijingfufengxianxianyonghuaiwubozi(自京赴奉先縣詠懷五百字) and Bozheng(北征), two of Dufu's representative works, are compared and analyzes. The comprehensive analysis of the two works in the respects of creating background, contents, and forms has resulted in the fact that they have many factors to find many similarities. In the viewpoint of their creating background, both of them were written at the eve and peak summit of An, Lu-Shan's rebellion respectively and the former can be considered as the prelude to the latter. At the same time the two works were constructed by Dufu in the process of describing the home-coming and meeting show some similarities in reflecting and worrying about Tang Dynasty. But Zijingfufengxianxianyonghuaiwubozi reveals only the agony of the unlucky intelligenzias in the dark period and the decayed political situation, while Bozheng is focused on the resurrction of already destroyed Tang Dynasty according to the current tides as well. The latter can be found to be weak in the consistency of its contents and have less power of persuasion than the former. And both of them are great works which tried poetic construction connecting rhythmically, by using rhyme, each paragraph dealing with various materials in the expression of their themes. In comparison, Bozheng can be said to be more systematic and compact than the other. In their rhyme, both of them use Rusheng rhyme(入聲韻) of zhi(質), wu(物), yue(月), he(曷), xia(點) comprehensively, but there is one rhyme deviated from the pattern in Beheng. The Rusheng used in both of them, which is short, rapid, and abrupt-enging giving the feeling of urgency, elaborate the poetic movement in accordance with their contents. In the use of Pingze(平仄), they are good reflections of Dufu's perspective on five-word-paragraph poems. They admit some lüju(律句) but almost not lülian(律聯) in which both chuju(出句) and deiju(對句) are lüju. Also they add some beauty of rhyme to the gushi(古詩) with crude atmosphere by trying deifa(對法) to the two words in chuju and deiju. Zijingfufengxianxianyonghuaiwubozi describes emphatically the poet's furious anxiety and lament by the rhetorics of downright contrast and exaggeration. Bozheng, using contemplative and objective jingzhonghanqingyuju(景中含情語句), formalizes objectively the future of the country which is absolutely to be resurrected in darkness. And it makes very skillful use of jufa(句法) and is successful in creating its petic style beyond the downright rhetoric of Zijingfufengxianxianyonghuaiwubozi.
