In this study, a survey was administrated to 123 students in Taegu National University of Education. It was designed to explore not only their internal and external image of scientists, but also where the images came from. Main results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1) Most of the students consider the congnitive aspects of scientists quite positively, but not so much on the affective aspects of them. 2) They showed the stereotyped images of scientists which were found by other students, and showed more chemist's characteristics. 3) These kinds of external and internal images seems to come from the press and other mass media such as a animation, a movie, a hero story and so on. 4) There are indications which show that non-science majors possess more typical stereotyped images of scientists.

最近에 Levine은 位相空間上에서 Semi open set와 semi 一連續性에 關해서 연구했으며, Yim은 Quesiopen set와 Quasi 連續性에 관해서 연구했다. 本 論文에서는 位相空間上에서 Semi-Quasi open set와 Semi-Quasi Continuity에 關한 몇가지 性質과 semi-open, Quasi open 및 Semi-Quasi open set들의 계와間 semi contiunity, Quasi-Contiunity, Semi-Quasi Contiunity관의 關係를 調査하였다.
Polyamine류와 Imidazole 유도체가 배위된 Cu(II)착물의 저해효과에 관한 ZINDO/1 연구

The investigation of the inhibitory activity on some Cu(II) complexes with polyamines and imidazole derivatives is performed by ZINDO/1 calculations. It was found that good correlation between enthalpy of formation of the Cu(ll) complexes and experimental inhibitory activity(IA) and the weaker bond strength of between central metal and ligand appears, the higher IA becomes. These results showed that the Cu(II) complexes have weak bond strength with the exception of the following very stable compounds: square planar [Cu(N-Proplm)₂(NCS)₂](N-Proplm=N-propylimidazole), distorted octahedral [Cu(bipy)₂(NCS)₂](bipy=2,2'-bipyridine), and five coordinate [Cu(Me6tren)(NCS)]^(+)(Me_(6)tren=tri(2-dimethylaminoethyl)amine). The degree of bond strength of Cu(II) complexes will be related to the IoglA value experimental inhibitory activity coefficient(IA).

The spermatozoa of two Cyprinidae species, Squalidus chankaensis tsuchigae and S. graailis majimae were studied by transmission electron microscopy. Their ultrastructures are very similar and represents characteristics typical of Cyprinidae spermatozoa including the shallow nuclear fossa, the asymmetrical arrangement of mitochondria and the lateral insertion of the flagellum. However, the most significant differences between two species can be seen in the mitochondria. The nucleus in both species contains the electron less area of the chromatin. The shallow nuclear fossa is located at the lateral side of the nucleus and contains the proximal centriole and the anterior portion of the distal centriole. The orientation of the proximal and the distal centrioles is between 130℃ and 140℃ in two species. The tail contains only an axoneme and the cytoplasmic vesicles are interposed between the axoneme and the plasma membrane. The mitochondria of S. chankaensis tsuchigae have two aspects of the fused ring or C-shape and the separate structure. S. gracilis majimae spermatozoa have only separate mitochondria. From the aspect of sperm evolution the fused mitochondria in S. chankaensis tsuchigae spermatozoa are considered as the apomorphic character in comparison with the separate mitochondria in S. gracilis majimae spermatozoa. In conclusion the spermatozoan ultrastructure of both species is very similar and the ultrastructural characteristics of the spermatozoa can be considered taxon-specific for the family Cyprinidae.

Solar UV-A radiations incident on a horizontal surface at Taegu of Korea in the last half year of 1998 were calculated with 5 minute averages of measurements taken every 30 seconds by a broadband UV-A sensor. Raw signal voltages from the sensor were converted to the units of watt/m2 by the simple linear relationship. The maxima of monthly averages and daily UV-A radiations were observed 412.31 in Aug. and 706.12 kJ/m2/day on Aug. 4, respectively. The maximum of instantaneous UV-A radiations in the period of the observation was 37.22 W/m2 at 12:15 on July 16.

The maxima of monthly averages and daily UV-B radiations were observed 7.407 in Sep. and 17.462 kJ/m2/day on Sep. 18, respectively. The maximum of instantaneous UV-B radiations in the period of observation was 1.230 W/m2 at 12:45 on July 13.
TRESR 분광법에 의한 Phenanthrenequinone의 광환원반응(Ⅱ) -Radial의 스핀-격자 완화시간에 미치는 점성도효과

The Phenanthrenequinone anion radical(PQ·-) was produced by photolysis using a pulsed N₂ laser in the mixed solvent of 2-propanol,2-pentanol or benzene and triethylamine(TEA). Particularly,time-resolved ESR spectrum of PQ·- and TEA radical( CH₃CHN(C₂H_(5))₂) has been obsered at 0.13-0.30 μs in the 3:1 mixed solvent of 2-pentanol and TEA. The spin-lattice relaxation time(T₁) has increased exponentially with the increasing of mixed solvents viscosity , it was affected by the spin rotational and diffusion rate of radicals due to the viscosity and solvation of solvent. The log plot of the relaxation time versus the viscosity gave the straight lines with different slope. This fact may be supposed that both PQ·- and TEA radical have contributed to spin-lattice relaxation time in the 3:1 mixed solvent of 2-pentanol and triethylamine.

Fluorescent rRNA-Targeted Oligonucleotidws Probes을 이용한 문천지의 세균 군집 구조 변화

The purpose of this study was to elucidate of correlation between the seasonal changes of bacterial communities using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and plate counts(heterotrophs) in Lake Moon-cheon. The ratio of eubacteria to total bacteria was 42.6∼74.5% and the percentage of α··β··γ-group belong to the proteobacteria ranged from 4.4∼15.8%, 2.6∼14.8%, 2.2∼19.8% respectively. Cytophaga-Flavobacterium group to eubacteria varied from 7.6∼22.1% annually There was no significant correlation between each group of proteobacteria and plate counts except Cytophaga-Flavobacterium group which constituted the largest fraction of bacterial groups surveyed during most of the year.
단핵 및 이핵성 시프염기 Cu(II) 착물을 이용한 Hydroxy Compound의 산화 촉매 효과

The mononuclear complex Cu(II)-N,N'-bissalicylidene-1,2-phenylenediamine (Cu(II)-BSPD) and binuclear complexes Cu(II)2-N,N',N",N"'-tetrasalicylidene-3,3'-diaminobenzidine (Cu(II)₂-TSDB), Cu(II)₂-N,N',N",N"'-tetrasalicy lidene-3,3',4,4'-tetraaminodip henyl- methane (Cu(II)₂-TSTM) have been synthesized. The synthesized complexes were used by catalysts in the oxidation reaction of hydroquione, cathecol and resorcinol. The oxidation conversion of these complexes were investigated by the UV/VIS spectrophotometry and the catalytic activities were larger in hydroxy compounds containing the binuclear Cu(II)₂-TSDB and Cu(II)₂-TSTM complexes rather than the mononuclear Cu(ll)-BSPD complex.
